Xenopope, Lyra's just telling you what the news was.   It's not like she's the one that made the original statement that it would take 3-5 years.

no one ever gets my sense of humor - thank you morning, I know. it was a joke playing on the generic reaction anyone would have when presented with the 3 - 5 year figure mixed with the speaking style of a caracter from MadTV. The white guy wearing the jumpsuit with the pillow in his shirt. he talks like that . . . I mean really morning . . .   . . .   . . .

. . . come on.

ya but reducing it from that to 3 months is pretty funny too. 'Oh, you don't like 3yrs.?? Okay, then we'll just fix it by next summer.'

Like they want the public to understand that they directly control such a vast portion of their lives.

I am as is Void.

Well I didn't get it either.  I don't watch TV, don't own one, so I had absolutely no clue what that outburst was all about.  I seriously thought you were drunk or high when you typed your post.  wink  big_smile  No offense....it went over my head too.

Re: N.Y. Subway line down "indefinitely" - L.A. Commuter Train Crash...

Okay........this is getting weird...............here's a story that just appeared on the news about another derailed train, this time in Pennsylvania, full of corrosive chemicals, causing evacuations.

The thing is..........

I just realized that there was yet ANOTHER derailed train carrying corrosive chemicals which forced evacuations in a small town somewhere here in the U.S., like maybe 2 weeks ago or so.  I will try to hunt that other story down.  So offhand, we have three derailed trains and one major tampering / interference with the NYC subway system, all within 2 - 3 weeks.........

In the meantime, I will try to hunt down that other derailed train / corrosive chemicals / evacuations story from a couple of weeks ago, see what I can dig up.   Does anybody here know what I'm talking about?   Anybody here recall seeing this story in the news recently??

Edit:   While I'm searching for that particular story, here are some other recent train derailment stories from recent weeks which I hadn't even heard of...........!

BINGO!  Found it......."South Carolina Train Crash, Gas Leak, Kill 8", from January 7, 2005.  Thank you, Yahoo Search Function.   wink

This particular story is kind of like de ja vu.  Another train wreck, more corrosive chemicals, more evacuations.   Weird......
