Topic: My great idea for a protest!

So there I was......yesterday afternoon, had just finished reading Soloflek's comment about the Prince Harry Bruhaha story which was all over the news... coincidentally....right when the big announcement came regarding that the final word on the subject of weapons of mass distraction was that NONE were there.  Period.   I finished responding to her, logged out, and then I was off to go clean the bathroom, still thinking about the Prince Harry Bruhaha.  Bleaching the sink, thinking about stupid news stories that make the front page of the newspaper, or the main page on Yahoo.  Scrubbing the toilet, getting annoyed that these newspapers continually put total crap "news" as mainstream items of interest.  Bleaching out the tub, thinking about how we all know that the media is owned by a few and highly controlled, and it sucks.     Washing the floor, thinking about how the general public doesn't even question when we're served up these stupid trivial items of "news" !!  Wiping off the mirror, I mean....what if you started demanding that these mainstream newspapers explain themselves??   What if  you absolutely HOUNDED them with hundreds of letters......EVERY DAY....phone calls, etc. DEMANDING to know "WHY ARE YOU CARRYING STORIES LIKE THIS????  WHY AREN'T YOU REPORTING THE **REAL** NEWS?!?!"

Then what?

Imagine it.......every day......hundreds of people getting irate and demanding to know why the newspapers - which they **pay money for** and expect the **real news** from -are instead reporting stupid stories like, Prince Harry dressing up as a Nazi at a private party.   Paris Hilton, making another sex video.  (OH, YOU KNEW THAT THE DREADED "P" WORD WOULD EVENTUALLY MAKE IT ONTO NOBLE REALMS!   IT WAS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THE HEIRESS WHOM STEPHEN KING CALLED A "VIRUS THAT MUST BE STOPPED!" WOULD MAKE ITS WAY TO THIS FORUM!   big_smile )   And so on.

Every day, people putting their foot down and spreading the word, inundating the New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The LA Times, The Chicago Sun Times, etc. etc. with demands for REAL news, demanding these "news" sources to answer for themselves.  Demanding to know WHY they put so-and-so celebrity story or other trivial fluff matter on the front page, or even covered it at all, period, anywhere in the "news" paper.   I myself don't even read the paper anymore.  At all.  Cause what's the point???   There's nothing there.   Hell, here where we live somebody went and scrawed LIES! in big black permanent marker on the front of every single newspaper vending machine downtown.   So I know I'm not the only one!!!

Seriously, think about it for a moment.   A world where celebrities don't get mainstream news coverage, a world where we're told something of actual substance.

Yes, dream on.  I know.  But it's not that hard to do this if you think about it.   Get everybody you know who's aware and have them type up a form letter.   Leave the subject line blank, so you can change it.   "I WANT TO KNOW WHY YOU THINK THAT WE, THE GENERAL PUBLIC, SHOULD KNOW OR CARE ABOUT _________________"  (fill in the blank....prince harry, paris hilton, joe schmoe celebrity / sports figure, etc.!)  Then, scan the newspaper headlines for where you live, find the dumbest crap that's being covered, and fill in the blank.  Mail it off.  Takes all of 5 minutes.  Spread the word on the 'net, email your friends, tell your family, get as many people as you know involved.   Got any coworkers who are "different" and would be into that too?   Sign them up too!!!!!

Damn would it feel good to pummel these newspaper agencies with thousands of letters and phone calls a DAY demanding for change, demanding answers, demanding an explanation!!!!   Yes, this is what I fantasize about!!!  While scrubbing the toilet and sponging off the floor I have dreams of writing obnoxious letters and being a pain in the arse!!    big_smile

lyra, an exceptional idea!

what i like is that this is a MOTION idea, not a STALE one. it is in motion, it requires motion, and as we all know MOTION = CHANGE,

Cool!!

Well, that's three then!

Guess what my fortune cookie just said too?   I went back to the break room and there was one laying on the table, unopened, from lunch which was Chinese food today, so I grabbed it thinking, "Alright, tell me something prophetic!"  This was after I had just typed the intro post to this thread and then logged out.

WELL....

It says, "Your example will inspire others!"

My lord!    Well, let's go then!   I'm tellling you, I'm so ready to do this!   I also think scrawling "LIES!!" on the outside of newspaper machines when nobody's looking like someone did here, at downtown, is a great idea too.  But you didn't hear me say that.  (cough.)  Nope.

big_smile

Spread the word....it's all lies, and we're damn tired of it!

Re: My great idea for a protest!

Lyra,
I'm glad u posted this because this is something I think about alot of the time, I can't stand the crap in the newspapers, the media manipulated bullshit that is told to the world to give everyone a false sense of security of that everything is alright in the world and nothing more goes on than what is said. The most annoying and fustrating thing is that people do know that alot more does go on that what is told (some know more than others) but we sit back and do absolutely nothing about it because we think we can't, I mean what can one solitary person in the billions of the world do to stop what is happening, this is the mindset of people and are made to feel this way so no changes are made and we are kept at our regressed state and are used as a food source and kept in control like sheep in a pen, i mean ffs sheep have more freedom than we do!!
Sorry I'm going on a "censored" rant at the moment ,i'm holding back all the swearing and cursing as I dont think it is appropiate and its nothing u guys dont know about, but as u can probably tell this is one of the biggest source of fustration for me, that people cannot see what is happening or that they do but think they can do nothing about it, "we are powerless mentality", and through this thought pattern the manipulation rules supreme!
The bullshit that is presented, in the news and papers, all the celebrity shit and the interest in other people's lives astounds me,  the way people view each other, that we must look this way, eat this way, talk this way, walk this way (reminds me of a song), which in turn makes people hate themselves for what they think they are and what they should be and look like and not who they are in themselves, making them depressed, angry and unhappy, feeding the "loosh hungry" entities, giving in to exactly what they want us to feel.
So the point i'm trying to make is that this is the way to get people to realise their power in society, yell and demand the truth, make it known that there is more out there, and that everyone that cares about the state of the world do have power to make these changes and demand to be told the truth. We are ready for the truth and for some it needs to be told to.
Lets demand the truth be told, lets wake up the sleeping and the slightly waking and make them realise they do have the power to make the changes that are very much needed in this world, they just need someone to follow because that is what most are used to, lets become the leading sheep and gather all the others to become human "beings", and not human "doings"!
So lets cover the newspaper stands with "LIES", write to editors and demand the truth be told, demand the celebrity and the like bullshit to be wiped off the news especially front page, demand why the f... this is being presented as being important to our knowledge, we dont give a rats ass about who sleeps with who, what cosmetic surgery has been done on "who cares"!
The sad thing about this is, is that people actually care about this shit, its like they need to know that someone has more of a shit life than they do, so it makes them feel better seeing this or that it makes them miserable because they think they are missing out on something in life.
If people actually saw what was really going on instead of this covered up and useless crap that people perceive as important news or "entertainment", they might actually start caring about what is going on apart from their materialistic lifestyles that they seem to care about so much, how they look to everyone else and what everyone thinks of them!
Getting off track here I know, lets just call it release of my long time held up thoughts, and fustrations with the world which i now feel better about.

Funny thing is, is that all this is meant to be like this, isnt it ironic, don't you think.

Re: My great idea for a protest!

Hey there, Maydovus!   Yes, I fully understand your frustration.....but before I come across as being a saint myself, I have to confess................I do read celebrity gossip.

There!  I said it....  big_smile   sad   Can't be a hypocrite and pretend I don't read it.   I can't help it, it's so stupid its entertaining!  hehe   But what irks me is the obvious manipulation that goes on within the news, the way they use the trivial crap to distract from the real stuff.  (Michael Jackson is the current distractor.......)   The way the media selectively pick what they will and won't talk about.   The way they play up fear and downplay items of substance.   All of this is annoying.   And Paris Hilton...............Not to futher contribute to THAT virus, but honestly, I've actually made jokes that Paris Hilton is a Psy-Ops experiment.    !   I'm totally serious.   Oh, I'm sure she's "real", and an actual person, but that right there is a walking talking psy-ops experiment if I ever saw it.  She is EVERYWHERE.  The media chooses to plaster her face EVERYWHERE.   THERE IS NO ESCAPING IT.   When she first came out she had NOTHING going for her other than her name and her outrageous outfits.  That's it.  That was her claim to fame.  And many people complained that she was ugly to boot, so why the hell is she getting magazine covers and all this mass media attention as if she was something special?    Then.....things began changing.   Paris' mug just wouldn't go away, it was All Paris, All The Time, wherever you looked.  The checkout line at the grocery store, on the internet, in the news, on TV, everywhere you go.  Paris Paris Paris.  Total saturation and brainwashing is what I call it.  All of a sudden the people who used to call her ugly were like "Paris is SOOOOOOOOOO PRETTEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!"   Scandal and sex tape after scandal and sex tape hasn't made a dent in the image either........people love her more, and can't get enough of her.  She continues to be EVERYWHERE.  Now she's got a line of night clubs opening world wide.

WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE????   The virus is spreading!!!    My only conclusion....psy-ops experiment!!!     I'm telling you, it's just too bizarre to overlook.  I know, I know, why am I wasting my time writing about it and contributing to it??  It's to point out what's going on right in front of us....the media as psy-ops tool, in more ways than we can imagine.

Anyway, I did have second thoughts after I made my first posts, like coming down from a manic high or something.  big_smile  Felt deflated, like, "it's not worth it....it's a waste of time, it'll accomplish nothing, it's just more distractions in a world of illusion....."   God you know, today at lunch I was at some restaurant picking up the office lunch order and I was waiting in the bar for the food, and there was a TV.  Guess what was on?  The Presidential Innaugeration.   I couldn't even look.  Every time I did glance at the screen I felt sick.  I just kept thinking to myself in disgust "it's not REAL....it's not REAL.....everybody thinks this is REAL....it's all lies........."   Couldn't even look at it for longer than 10 seconds at a time.   I mentioned over on another thread about how my brother, Mr. MILAB, or whatever the hell he was, used to tell me "This isn't real........none of this is real..........."   and only recently have I really begun to understand how he was actually right in many ways.    It's not real.  Not the way we think it is, anyway.  So with that realization, do we even bother to pursue something like this then?   Knowing that the newspapers won't ever carry the "truth".........do we bother?    Knowing that none of us will ever comprehend or know what the "truth" even is......do we pursue it?     I always forever have an urge and drive within me to "do something!!"  about the situation here in this reality right now, but I feel like my energy is pulling me into 50 different directions......take on this cause!  Take on that cause!!   Do this!!  Do that!!!  Fix it!!  Fix all of it!  Fixitfixitfixit!!!!!!!   !!!!"

sigh...

Hi Lyra, all.

I so appreciate the thinking (and frustration smile)behind your suggestion as I work in the media. Apart from the telly stuff, I work on a radio news and current affairs programme about Africa. It is a constant balancing act to try and seed in ideas that help people to make sense of our reality in relation to that zone of our planet. I do my best knowing that one can only go so far before you become a target, or funding suddenly gets cut. I know its limitations and work within them, always seeking to push the boundaries further and further.

Before getting into the media, I spent a good two decades doing the kind of protests you are advocating. I was your regular community activisit. In the bigger picture nothing changed, but in terms of the individuals doing the work, there was huge growth in understanding the realities of how this STS realm is set up. Based on such experience, I no longer take part in protests, as I think one cannot change the heart of the beast so to speak, but one can prod a few of the beast's unknowing servants out of their slumber if their inclination is to be of STO. This is done one person at a time through networking. I also understand that this world is this way for a reason and that is just fine. The work many students of esoterism speak of is about changing yourself. Again, this can only occur one person at a time.

The best I can currently think to "do" is to be a living example of the principles that I have spent most of my life working and indeed protesting to see. I try to do an inventory of my daily actions to see if I acted in a manner that fits with my stated STO intentions. That is tough work, as one faces many little "demons", the biggest one of which is denial.

Yes I am perhaps a dreamer too, but I now know what is possible to make an exponential difference, without the illusion that there will be a world revolution and that the STO paradigm we ache to see will be a reality in my or my son's lifetime. This is a long haul journey I think. So I look within whilst living in the world, and hopefully, the little I do can make a difference on levels that I am not aware of.

The media is the hypnotic voice of the Matrix. Thousands of letters bemoaning the lack of truth in the media won't make a difference. The idea that the media is there to reflect reality is part of the illusion too. Sorry; didn't mean to poop on your parade. I just think apart from venting some frustration for yourself, nothing else in the bigger media picture will change.

Maybe we need a title thread called "So you think you can change the world?". Don't take this personally as it is the idea that I think is idealist, not the intention.

The truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

Re: My great idea for a protest!

Hello Vuyiswa,

I can see totally where you are coming from, the thought crosses to and fro in my mind of wether it will all be worth it, will it make a difference and no matter how much I want do do something about it, it wont change a thing, but then i think to myself, well now im being like everyone else and thinking that i cant do anything about it, can u see my confusion!!!???
And I also know that for the outside to change we must change the inner self, our perspectives, then the world will seem that it is meant to be the way it is and that we should not fight it but go with the flow and then we will find peace, maybe not on the outside but on the inside we begin to know as why things are the way theyare.
I have to keep reminding myself this all the time, eventually I will come to that happy medium where I see so much wrong with the world knowing that is this way for a reason and not to get angry and fustrated about it.
Maybe that is all we can do Lyra, unfortunatley! sad but be big_smile

I don't think you've given in too easily.... smile   It's the same stuff I think about too.  I go around in circles trying to figure out whether it's worth it or not.

Back in 2003 I made up almost 500 fliers regarding the impending Iraq war, using those great sarcastic cartoons and pictures from David Icke's headlines page, fliers which slammed and mocked Bush, brought attention to the travesty waiting to happen over in Iraq, with website info. at the bottom for where people could go to protest, including info. about the big march on Washington that was scheduled, I mean, the whole deal.    Montalk made a good one which likened Bush to Hitler....took the classic photo of Hitler with the Eiffel Tower behind him and doctored it so it was Bush's face and the WTC in the background.  !!  big_smile   That was CLASSIC.   Went out every night distributing them on car windshields all around Ft. lauderdale, at Target, Barnes and Noble, Whole Foods Market, various restaurants, even on my neighbor's doors all around my neighborhood.  Why?  I don't know.  Because it helped bring attention to the situation.  It was my way of doing SOMETHING, however small and insignificant.  Did I think that it was going to actually stop the war?  No.  Did I think it would make a difference?  No.  Not in the big scheme of things, no.   But I knew that me doing that was better than nothing.   I can't explain why, I just know that.   To not do something would have been worse.   I knew that there were people who were exiting J. Alexander's restaurant, Target, Barnes and Noble, etc. going back to their cars with full stomaches and not a care in the world, stuffed full of personal satisfaction who then got a big jolt when they read those fliers.    Some probably got angry and crumpled them and tossed them on the ground.  Some may have agreed and thought "Yeah!!  Right on!  Somebody out there like me!"  Some may have been neutral, but their curiousity was piqued, so they may have taken the flier with them....seeds being planted for later on..............I'll never know, but I can only hope.

We as individuals won't change anything on a large scale all by ourselves in one shot by one single action, no, but I believe small little actions done by enough people can create change in a big way eventually, somehow, someway.....

Lyra

You do realize that it take thousands of people to do this all across the country in order to be afective. But it can start with just a hand full of people .... that's how revolutions start so keep on, we might get a break from those lies we are given up the throught after all.

I dare any alien to come to meet with me. If you are out there come see me I'll keep it between us (no publicity). Do you have what it takes? ...thought so! Or do you think you are to good for me?  ha ha ha ha

Re: My great idea for a protest!

Vuyiswa, I very much agree with your position.  In fact, I'm astounded that someone else sees it as I do.  Most people do not consider that option as a viable solution, while we believe it's the only solution that would accomplish fundamental change in our reality.  Toltec knowledge says reality is a dream that can only be transformed by transformation of the dreamers.

THERE IS NO ESCAPING PARIS HILTON!!!!  I just went to wunderground.com for a weather report, and clicked on the "Regional Radar" for my area and to the right of the screen was PARIS FREAKING HILTON in some advertisement saying "WHO IS THIS CELEBRITY?" and then her with that smug little smirk!!

AHHHHHH!   IT'S A PSY-OPS EXPERIMENT I TELL YOU!!!  MAKE IT STOP!!!! MAKE IT STOP!!!!!  UNCLE!  UNCLE!!!!!
