Topic: Burt's Bees

Anybody here use Burt's Bees products?   I just love this stuff.....what a fantastic company and what a great line of products!!   What's so amazing about this stuff is how natural (and edible!) the ingredients are.    Most of their stuff is like 99% all natural.  When you read the ingredients it's all stuff you recognize....and can usually eat.   They even make all natural MAKEUP now.    !!!      I was wishing I could find some all natural, non-animal tested lipstick and lo and behold I stumbled upon their line of lipsticks.  Out of curiosity I investigated the ingredients on their foundation....all recognizable stuff.  I didn't even know foundation could be natural like that, using clay and mica.   Who knew!    I wanted to bring attention to Burt's Bees for anybody who's interested in all natural, good quality affordable beauty products, soap and cosmetics that don't do animal testing or use any sort of animal ingrediants.     They're a company worth giving your money to.    Today I bought their Garden Tomato Toner....the stuff smells SO good......and their new "Almond Milk Beeswax Handcreme."   (there's no actual milk in it....)   It doesn't sound too good but it's amazing.  Again, smells so yummy you want to eat it and it's so creamy and really absorbs into your skin.  Good stuff!   The company started out making a simple line of products centered around beeswax, like hand salves and stuff, and have expanded to include an entire line of products now.

Some other interesting products that I've either tried and recommend or else sampled and think it's worth highlighting:

-  Beeswax and Banana hand creme
-  Coconut Foot cream -  Comes in a little drawstring bag, complete with pumice scrub stone and little yellow socks that have bees embroidered on them!   too cute....
-  Peppermint shower soap -  it's an exfoliating "scrubby soap" as I call it...smells very pepperminty and yummy
-  Garden tomato toner (they have a garden tomato complexion soap as well...)
-  Carrot nutriative body lotion
-  Lemon poppeyseed facial scrub
-  Avocado hair treatment -  Haven't tried it but this looked interesting -  like guacamole for your hair!   big_smile
-  Lip Shimmer lipsticks- peppermint scented
-  Cinna Mint or Lavender Mint Toothpaste - all natural, fluoride free...always a plus.

Re: Burt's Bees

Yup, indeed!    smile

For anybody going to their website, check out the section called "Our Story"...it's really interesting to see how they started out.  Burt is a real guy, and he's the dude you see on some of the products and adverts.  He started out with one hive of bees making honey and other bee products, in their "factory" which was an abandoned one room schoolhouse in rural Maine.....and now look at where they are!   Amazing.  You can see pics of all that on the site.....

I just bought a little "starter" sampler pack for $9 last night, which has a little bit of everything in it, including the lip balm you mentioned.  You're right, the stuff's awesome!

You know why the stuff's awesome?  (besides the fact that it really moisturizes...)  Check out the ingredients:

Beeswax, coconut oil, sunflower oil, tocopheryl acetate & tocopheryl (Vitamin E) lanolin, peppermint oil, comfrey root extract, rosemary extract.

That's it......no goofy stuff!

There's the "Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream" salve...I love this stuff too!  Sweet almond oil, beeswax, lemon oil, tocopheryl acetate & tocopheryl (Vitamin E) cocoa butter, candelilia wax, rosemary extract, beta-cartotene.

That's it!   No goofy stuff.

The sampler pack also comes with the avocado butter hair treatment, peppermint foot lotion, garden tomato toner, Hand salve, Carrot day creme (THIS STUFF IS YUM!  SMELLS LIKE CARROT CAKE!!!  big_smile  ) Rosemary Mint shampoo bar, peppermint shower soap, herbal blemish stick with tea tree oil, and banana & beeswax hand creme.

Good stuff!  I want to eat all of it!   big_smile

Re: Burt's Bees

Yer makin' me hungry.

Re: Burt's Bees

I was thinking the same thing.  Reading lyra's post, I thought I'd make a clever, witty remark about getting hungry.  Third in line I guess! smile
