Topic: A theory on Vit C

I was talking to a friend on benefits of taking 500-1000 mg Vit C everyday. He thinks it's better to take all vitamins from daily foods. I said it's not possible to take that amount from food... then it hit me!

I told my friend all of the mammals can synthezise big amounts of Vit C in their bodies but human beings can't. My friend asked "why"? OK, now comes the important point.

Let's imagine you prepared an experiment. You put some living beings in a big laboratory. Then you enter the rules, laws etc and you leave the laboratory to itself.

Let's imagine you made this experiment countless times in an infinite place - universe. You don't intervene to these laboratories but you put/hide some advanced rules into these beings - lets say to their genetic material.

Now, if you don't intervene to these experiments and you have many many of them, you leave "the success" to experiment itself. You put some "marker" points and watch if any of the experiment can come to these points. This means these experiments have to understand/open/decode theirselves. And when this happens, they have to be in suitable technological/pshycological point - which means they have to be ahead of their "natural" achievement.

Let's connect it with Vit C subject. Let's say one of the marker points is to consume 1000 mg of Vit C, this will help to decode some further info - which is hidden in genetic material. We know that we can't have big amounts of Vit C from our daily nutrition. So, we need technology here, biochemistry, physiology, dietary supplement industry etc etc. I mean, you have to isolate and understand Vit C, concentrate it, put it in capsules/tablets etc. and there you are! You can have 1000 mg Vit C which will lead you to further decoding. You wouldn't do that if you were still a cave man or living as an simple farmer whose only concern is how to make more money with his harvest or a soldier whose only concern is what his commanders will tell him(1).

I hope I could tell what I mean. We can see Vit C as a metaphor (also literally true!). We may put some other marker points too! This theory combines new age's dna activation/ancient know thyself thoughts and hitchiker's guide to galaxy (2).

EDIT:

(1) Enter the darkside. Let's say there is also some "experiment designers" who wants a failure. They make their arrangements on these living beings too. Like "let's distract them with meaningless subjects. No, no better than that lets teach them violence".

(2) Yes I'm reading Hitchiker's Guide now. If you read you know that all over the galaxy planet earth has only two words in the guide: "mostly harmless". For quite a long time, I believe that there is a vast galactic "social life" out there which we have no hint about.

Re: A theory on Vit C

When you do calorie restriction, the amount of other nutrients required is less, your system is more efficient. They are also starting to show some humans are able to produce vit C (in particular pregnant females).

Just some thoughts.

Bioflavanoids may be another factor here too.  In foods bioflavanoids  usually occur together with 'vitamin C'.  When I use vit C to stop a cold or flu, it usually works best to eat a lot of lemons and oranges plus the regular vitamin C.   Not sure how this might fit with Ferit's theory, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

Re: A theory on Vit C

If you use ALA = alpha lipoic acid, another anti-oxident, it "renews/reactivates" the vitC in your system.
Bioflavanoids are VERY good, arguably more potent than vit C.

We do a pressed garlic, fresh squeezed lemon (might consider grating some of the pulp next time) with cayenne tea...tastes like crap but seems to help. Great for sore throat.

Interesting idea, I like it.

Hitchhiker's Guide is a classic.  I'm hoping the upcoming movie doesn't destroy it ... most of the humor of the books came directly from the writing style itself and I'm not sure how well it will translate to the big screen.

Re: A theory on Vit C

I also think 1000 mg vit-C a day is needed.

How bad, in Europe, on all food packages it is written 60 mg vit. C. (thus: about 15 times less) is the official needed minimum !

Re: A theory on Vit C

....just to throw something else in...when you rub lemon or lime, say half of the fruit over a cats body, particularly along front legs where they can lick easily, it livens them up, removes parasites, as it does for us!  I was able to eliminate weepy eyes for my cat...so now we rub it onto both our cats every other day and it works!

Linus Pauling and his "protege" Dr. Rath suggest even more vitamin c as well as a synergistic blend of other vitamins and supplements
