Topic: Just saw a 'ufo'

Was just out walking the dog with my wife.  We were along the dark, unlighted part of our sea front.  The winds here are pretty strong tonight, and the cloud cover is very low; so they were drifting along fast.  The clouds were moving out to see (north).

A fair way along the beach, a gap in the cloud cover drifted over, we looked up to see a strange hazy object.  For a first instant I thought it was someone shining a beam of light into the sky...but around the object the stars were viewable.  Above the clouds then the sky was perfectly clear.

I said "WTF is that?!", my wife also noticed it at that point.  The object was very hard to see...had difficulty focusing on it.  However it was triangular in shape, though the edges were indistinct.  I did a bit of what is perhaps a dumb thing at that point as we had a powerful torch with us (to find the dog along the beach in the dark), so I shined it up at the object.  However the beam was nowhere near powerful enough to reach it.  I just used it as a pointer I guess to make sure my wife and I were looking at the samething.

Eventually the clouds came over again and we couldn't see it any more.

We turned around and walked back home a little bit later.  We were discussing it and though we both saw the same shaped object some of the details varied.  She saw lights on each point of the triangle where as I didn't.  Also she saw it as being somewhat larger than I saw it.

Anyway...she drew this picture of it in Paint when we got in.

The object was moving against the wind heading south, but moving very slowly.  (Either that or it was up very very high and was very large).  There was absolutly no noise coming from it.

I keep shaking my head trying to make rationalisation out of it.  But well all the way back home I was certain of what I saw.

Anyway...found this link in the other thread...and what we saw was very similar though not quite the same as the triangular objects there.

My first proper ufo sighting.  Though I think I saw an odd craft some years ago, I didn't get a good look at it.  Unlike this time...

Thanks for sharing.  I don't regard it as gibberish at all and I think that you describe your experience quite well.  I recently saw my first "anomolous" sighting as well.

Thank you as well,  it is a bit more "comfortable" when one experiences such with another for sure.  smile

Wonder if more of us on the forum will have any sightings during the "new moon" phase period.

Not sure the ufo is entierly right really.  Only insofar as the object was "unidentfiable".  I suspect it was probably a military craft of some sort.

My only rock solid siting was of a boomerang on July 4th last summer and it was also camoflauged as the sky, though it was a daytime siting. A friend who lives in my area has seen boomerangs twice. There's plenty of links on the thread I noted above though, just in case you'd like to review some more NR info about the subject.

Today's mighty oak is just yesterday's nut that held its ground.

Thanks for the link...interesting stuff there.  I just posted about a lenticular cloud I saw round here a few days ago.  South England has no mountains, so quite odd.

I remember thinking at the time that it seemed very odd...

Yes, the lenticulars get really odd looking when they're stationary and all the rest of the clouds are moving in the wind. For a time I was seeing a lot more of the lenticular clouds in my area, but only saw the one last year before the onset of Hurricane Charley.

Hi Marcus,

Very kewl report!

I have seen a few interesting things in the heavenward direction, myself. The most recent one was an undulating wormlike thing, seemed to be brown, much lower than an airplane or satellite for sure...maybe helicopter flying low height  kind of altitude? I have no sense of these kinds of measurements, other than these types of comparisons. It was very early in the morning, not long after the sun was bringing the new day.

I was getting off of an overnight work shift at a hospital and I was driving down the main road when I spotted it. I actually pulled the car over and got out to watch this thing for about 20 minutes. Normally, BELIEVE ME,  I would have just headed staight home to bed since the work nights were averaging 13 hours long and I had an hour commute each way. But I was fascinated. And very sorry I did not at least have a pair of binoculars. It was so early that  the only other person I saw was a real live 'dude' in a hooded sweat jacket or something of the like, walking down the road. So I yelled at him to stop and look UP and asked him if he knew what that was and he said, "NO!," watched it for a minute and then kept on walking. Looked like he was in a hurry.

I believe I know what weather balloons look like and bouquets of festive balloons that we can buy at the store or the larger versions we can often see tied to poles at car dealerships (which, by the way,  are usually multi-colored when I spy them).....This was nothing like that. Considered that maybe it was some kind of a rod but really cannot be sure. It was moving, but slowly, and holding what seemed to be a relatively stable altitude.

Anyone have any ideas?  It was kind of a long, slight  "S" shape, again, undualting slightly, and all brown possibly, uniformly bumpy on the edges and maybe on the whole thing...like a giant caterpillar flying vertically across the sky. Over a populated town.  But ****of course**** me and this hooded guy were the only ones out  on that part of that main street anyway. And yes, I saw his face-think he pulled his hood slightly back when he looked up......so do not think he was any kind of STS in disguise or anything (grin).
