Topic: Modern attitudes - young generation

I occasionally read Anne Rice books; (they're reasonably good; but are deserving of their own thread on their content - has this author ever been discussed here in the context of conspiracy?).  Anyway, as is commanly known her books are about vampires, reason I even mention the books; one of the vampires being over 500 years mentions at one point that he always sires a young individual from any given age because: 1) He gets stuck in his ways as he gets older, meaning he becomes disassociated with current culture...so... 2) Siring a young vampire means that over a period of time, he learns to see the world through the eyes of a younger person.

Being born in the mid 70's I am not particularly old, but I have never followed cultural trends closely.  Over the course of the last year, I have spent a lot of time with people under the age of 20; and I am finding it increasingly curious and interesting how the latest generation view the world and life.

I was tempted to post an aspect of this in the "Mind-Control: Sexual Fantasies" thread, but this is a broader topic that only touches on that other subject in the form of relationships.

The whole idea of relationships between a couple seems to be very very confused now-a-days...and totally ambiguous.  For example "seeing each other" but not "being together".  "Being together" but not being "boyfriend and girlfriend".  Sex of course plays a very big part in the picture; but is disassociated from the emotional feelings of the relationship.  That is to say, those feelings maybe held back and considered as not being "real" until sex has happened.

Now, taking a step back from the relationship side of things.  Lifestyle is very important, with material possessions probably being highest on the list.  This aspect isn't merely superficial but is deeply rooted into how they perceive themselves and others.  When looking from the outside it appears shallow, and the individual inclined towards this lifestyle is very detached from their inner self.

Externalisation of their entire worldview is a huge aspect of their lifestyle.  Dress style, fashion, even posture, attitude and dialogue factor into this.  When I say dialogue I don't just mean the usage of certain word's i.e. "cool" now, or "wicked" in the 80's.  This goes far further into whole sentences and strings of words, often lifted directly out of movies or sitcoms.  Indeed, on another level, such attributes are often emulated from a person associated with being cool etc.

Before I suddenly appear to be going of on a diatribe with a psychological evaluation on contemporary culture - I would like to clearly say I mention all the above for illustrative reasons.

Over the past few decades there has been an ever increasing amount of information leading people what is termed on NR as "awaken".  We often talk about the sheep that are still asleep or cannot be woken...and many places at work I found that with the older people or people my own age.

But with the younger generations it seems to be different.  I recently saw a small advert at www.adbusters.org , you see a guy sitting on a sofa in his living room watching TV.  Slowly the camera pans around to the back of the guy with a voice over:  "Your living room is the factory, the product being manufactured is you." as the camera reaches the back of the guys head, you can see he is tattooed with a barcode.

And this essentially and almost in totality is how it feels when associating with many of the people around 23 and under.  Like talking to a product or a computer; this is clearly contrary to talking with older people where it feels like talking to someone that is asleep.

Of course, we all here know the various reasons as to why and how this has happened.  But as of right now, I am wondering just how deep this goes.  The association with anything spiritual or inner self seems utterly and totally removed.  How does this affect their etheric and astral nature / potential?  How does this affect their inner experiences?  What about their potential for gaining knowledge of the world around them for themselves?

I have watched over the course of 18months a person under the age of 20, slowly move away from being an open minded individual whilst they form their whole worldview.  This worldview being based on the bullshit being broadcast, transmitted, printed and spoken constantly.  It is an amazing thing to see the foundation of someone’s worldview form from the sand of all this bullshit...and witness is slowly solidify into what the individual believes is the basis of life.

The frightening aspect in this of course is my inability to directly alter this process - in any other way than gentle and subtle guidance.

There appears to be a hell of a lot of knowledge and experience on NR; so I wanted to share this experience, discuss it and perhaps hear other people thoughts and experiences on the whole thing...

Thanks...

Re: Modern attitudes - young generation

Before the industrial revolution there was, for most people anyway, little if any leisure time to ponder the bigger questions since survival was a morning-to-night affair. Things eased up afterward, but I find it interesting that any potentially beneficial effects of increased leisure time was countered by a new push toward distraction via mindless entertainment. Sure, people have a choice regarding what to do with their freetime, but what's been happening over the past couple decades is an increasing pressure against any constructive use of freetime by the sheer number of opportunities for sleep available.

Today the system is pretty much on lockdown - what kid is going to choose introspection over TV, videogames, and internet? And without introspection or pondering, there is no thinking or processing of what enters the mind. So by the time these kids get into their late teens and early 20s and try to make sense of the world, they are just crystallizing what's been poured into them for years. I mean, the drive toward freedom and justice is always there but it can be heavily diverted...for example, those politically active types that rabidly and illogically defend certain misguided ideals that are but products of programming "verified" by some emotional allegiance to it.

The economy and culture being what it is, I know from personal experience that today more parents than ever before park their kids in front of the TV or computer as a substitute for quality time. Hell, most of these parents are sleepers anyway and life's become a compromise between surviving and escaping. It's a runaway system, demand for distraction creating more opportunities for distraction and thus more demand with every generation numb to what excited the previous generation.

I don't know if there's a bigger purpose to all this -- whether those who have the potential to become aware have always seen themselves as "different" from others and are thus more inclined toward introspection. The only way for a young child to resist programming is to already have within them some solidified core of awareness...who knows who such individuals were in past lives. And as for those who are succumbing to programming, I cannot judge what role they have, if any.

A college buddy of mine proposed an interesting idea: attention deficit disorder, at least the legitimate cases, gives the individual a disadvantage in modern society but an advantage in a hunter-gatherer society. So he suggested that just as male births increase in the decades leading up to war, so is the modern increase in ADD cases - regardless of the cause - signaling an upcoming catastrophic backsliding of culture to a primitive state. Maybe that's true, maybe not -- my point is that even teens we think are the new generation of sleepers may have some unforeseen role.

I agree with Marcus: gentle and subtle guidance is the most efficient way to go. Younger kids are more open to new ideas; it's only when they reach the crystalization stage in the late teens and early 20s that for many their ears begin to close, if they ever had ears to hear.

I think, however, that destiny and divine influence being real and effective, those who are immersed into a horribly soul-numbing society will still be given the opportunities they need. If you can offer what another needs, they will be sent your way.

Acquiring fringe knowledge is like digging for diamonds in a mine field.

Re: Modern attitudes - young generation

So far everything I would have said has been said here.  smile   Good observations and comments.   In a nutshell, the general trend is one of "image" with kids nowadays.  Materialism, gadgets, the right clothes and shoes, and projecting that image.   It's nuts.

My only thing to contribute, which I wanted to start a thread about but I think it fits in here perfectly, is.............where do all those supposed "Indigo Kids" fit into all of this?  Because obviously there are more than one of us out here seeing the shallow materialistic image-obsessed attitudes of many of the youngun's of today.   I mean, your opening post Marcus just about said it all and very accurately summed up what I've been observing for myself.

In all fairness, here is the more complete picture of what I'm seeing with the younger generation:

- There are the materialistic image-obsessed kids who need to have every new gadget.  They're the ones who have their own TV's, DVD players, computers, video gaming systems, cell phones, and probably cars by the time they're 15, as well as all the "right" label clothes.

- There are the super achievers.   The kids whose college applications look like the resumes of mid-level executives, to quote an article I once read and posted here at NR.  The kids being raised by super achiever Baby Boomers to be even MORE achievement oriented then their parents were.  They are members of like half a dozen groups and clubs in highschool, play instruments, sports, are multi-lingual, get straight A's, are in the honor society and get all the awards and tie for Valedictorian with 15 other students whose GPAs are well over 4.0.   wink   These kids are almost Super Human.   It's mind boggling.   At my last job in Florida we had a girl who worked on the weekends who was, get this:   17 years old, already living on her own, finishing up her FIRST YEAR OF COLLEGE, pulling straight A's, ate only super healthy food, worked out obsessively with her *24 year old boyfriend whom she lived with* and even kept this anal retentive 3-ring binder to keep track of her complicated workout regimine.   I've never seen anything like this.   She was trying to be 100% perfection, all the time.    My half sister whom I've never met seems to be on this same path.  Last time I heard, when she was 5-6, she was already tri-lingual and playing the violin and who knows what else.    Me at the age of 5-6 was sitting in the dirt pushing matchbox cars around with my little boy buddies, playing with dolls and squeezing Play Doh in the Play Doh fun factory.  wink  Jeez.   haha

- The lost ones who slip through the cracks.  They're too poor to be able to rival the image obsessed materialistic kids, often come from dysfunctional families, and just basically slip through the cracks of society and life.

Anway, just some random thoughts.  Any feedback from anybody regarding the Indigos?    Is this theory valid do you think?    Is there anybody here who can see auras and who can verify that there are indeed kids nowadays with pure Indigo / Blue auras?    Is the idea of spiritually advanced kids incarnating during this time valid?    If so...........has anybody here encountered them?   I do know that the little kids today, the ones under 10, seem to be so much more mature and advanced then kids used to be.  I sometimes feel like I'm looking at somebody who's ancient when I look at them.  It's incredible.    There's a look in their eyes that kids didn't used to have it seems, more of a life spark or something.

Re: Modern attitudes - young generation

Marcus,

What an odd synchronicity. I was just this afternoon and last night thinking I should post Anne Rice's Mayfair Witches Trilogy--The Witching Hour, Lasher, Taltos--as part of my favorite fiction on the Book List thread. I wondered how I could've not thought to before. Not because the books are about witches, but because the books are about witches with Rice's brilliant twists and turns. Not to mention she is a stunningly beautiful writer.

I've not read any of the vampire books written by her, I don't do vampire stories well, but if they're of the substance that is the trilogy then I don't doubt that they are insightful and thought provoking reads.

As for the thread subject matter--

In the past few months I have been counseling a younger person, 17 yoa. He's brilliant (intelligent), creative (songwriter/rapper... good stuff actually), energetically powerful (whoa!), and he's suffocating at the weight of the world's troubles.

He knows he's different, he says he's known this as long as he remembers, he's very introspective and really very insightful, and he wants to "awaken" people through his music/rap, he's very aware of the sleepers... the thing is he thinks it's his responsibility to wake every last one of them up. His mother sees it as well as I do that he nearly has a messianic drive to save the world.

As his gets closer to this "crystalization stage" montalk writes about his choices are becoming more difficult to make, he's really confused about what his place is to be in the world. Given his old and wise soul and the matrix cage he knows he's in he's really a very torn young person. He's suffocating.

I'll tell ya, I don't think I'd want to be young and in this world like it is now, I'd rather deal with my aging body and regret... it has got to be easier.

I didn't see your post until after I posted mine...

Admittedly, I know very little about what an Indigo's MO is, but I certainly intuite that the young man I wrote about above is an Indigo, even though, with intuition aside, I want to call him a Wanderer as well. A big "badass" Wanderer to be exact. Either way he's very, very powerful energetically. Indeed, his energy is near messianic. lyra, even though this child is young and still obviously immature (naturally), he's very, very wise. I think it's extremely rare to find this depth of wisdom in someone his age.

You ask about spiritually advanced children... hands down, this kid is blow-me-away spiritually advanced. He understands concepts like love, justice, and tolerance to a level most people have to have a lifetime of experience upon experience in order to attain that level of understanding.

And I know so little about Indigo Children that I didn't know they were supposed to have indigo auras... well, now the term makes a little more sense to me smile.

I don't normally see auras on command, but sometimes, when the energy frequency is aligned, I'll see someones aura. One night I was at the house and my young friend came home from a party. He walked in the door like he was floating on air. I giggled and asked him what was up with him, he started telling his mom and me about this cute girl who was paying attention to him. The whole time he was talking about this girl his whole head was surrounded with an indigo aura! To be fair though, I've seen indigo auras around older folk as well, though it's not often. I had a Counseling prof that came to class everyday with an indigo halo on her head wink!

What's interesting about what he was saying about the girl was that she wasn't a "skank" just going after the guys with the cars and toys, Letter Jackets, and having indiscriminate sex just to get a ride and their attention, that she was a "sweet girl", his kind of girl! He then floated out of the room. Does this sound like your typical 17 year old?

I worry about that messianic drive though, he's more tortured than he's not. Lately he and I have been talking about finding joy where it doesn't exist. I'm not sure who's learning more, him or me big_smile.

Re: Modern attitudes - young generation

yeah, this is pretty accurate, however as a 22 year old in a group of 5+ friends 19-22, not all kids are insane robots, some of us are "normal" humans with access to our thoughts and feelings and emotions.  It was pretty bad for me growing up as far as school goes but the kids a year behind me had it 10x worse.

P.S. As a "kid" i just wanted to throw out that from my own personal experiences, adults are just about as insane as the children are.  They are slightly less sexually/mentally/emotionally disturbed but they exhibit the same op-like behaviors with the same frequency

P.P.S (Re:lyra) My friends and I are also pretty obsessed with waking people up, it may be youth idealism but this forum is really the first place i even came across the idea of not waking people up so I dont know

Re: Modern attitudes - young generation

Hi Auendove,

Yup, the Indigos are supposed to be the new generation of kids / teens born after around 1980 or so (plus or minus a few years) who have predominantly or all blue / Indigo auras around them, versus in years past where people had multi-colored rainbow auras that varied in color depending on their thoughts / moods / health.

I've seen little kids that just blow me away with their maturity and "old soul" quality.

I used to have a roommate who had 2 little boys, ages 4 and 7.   The 4 year old (connor) acted like a mix of old man and little boy.  He loved little kid things, but also carried himself like an old man at times.   Like one time he accidentally knocked over my cat's bowl of dry food, so I was like "That's okay," and started picking up the food and putting it back in the bowl. He looked at me the way a mature parent would and said to me, as if "teaching me", "We should throw this away and give her new food."   I mean, the way he said it and looked at me, it was just like an older person teaching a kid.   I just stared at him and said, "uhhh....sure!  Okay!" and dumped it out.   He was like the parent and I was like the child.   And his dad.....oh my god.  He was like a grown child, just this loud, obnoxious guy who was always talking and being boisterous and full of himself, while Connor would just look at him with this exasperated attitude.  His dad would be bellowing at him to get up, come on, we gotta go, let's go, ahhhhhh!    And Connor would just sit there looking at him exasperated, practically rolling his eyes and sighing about the way his dad was carrying on.

There was this other kid I just recently encountered at an ice cream shop here downtown.  He was kneeling on a stool reaching over the counter for something and I turned and we caught eyes and he said something to me, can't remember what, and the the look in his eyes and on his face...........It was a person who's lived 10,000 lifetimes.   SO mature.    There's no way to convey it here.   And he was only about 5, tops.

There are many more examples, but those are two off the top of my head.  I just wonder, have kids always been this way??   Maybe I'm only now noticing it since I'm an "adult" now.   But honestly, I look at myself as a kid, I was smart and all, but yet so OUT of it.   I could read through adults, but when I was young I was goofy and did stupid things like stuffing peanuts up my nose and eating barrettes and pennies.   I mean, I was on the level of like your average CAT or something!!!  big_smile big_smile big_smile haha    I don't know what it is.   Maybe they've always been this way.   Maybe I was just a dopey kid.   I don't know....

Re: Modern attitudes - young generation

what is it supposed to mean if you are an indigo?  I was born in november 82, i had my aura read once by someone who I would consider to be an amateur at best and he told me that it was blue and visible about 12-18 inches off me which according to him is very large.  Since the day I was born people have always told me that I acted more mature than most adults.  Apparently an hour or two after delivery my father and a friend of his were having a conversation looking down at me in my crib and as they spoke i attentively would look back and forth at the eyes of the speaker which according to them and the surrounding doctors/nurses/whatever is pretty bizarre.  My first word was at about 4 months, I was speaking fluently by 1, i could read and write and do arithmetic before I went to kindergarden and I went to kindergarden a year early (4).  I could go on but i feel like maybe its coming off as bragging which is not my intent, sorry in advance if thats how its interpreted.  Anyways the point is I have no psychic abilities to the best of my knowledge, if I was born with them then they were learned away.  I do remember as a child a frequent sense of deja-vu like i knew what was going to happen before it would happen.  Every once in a while now I do seem to get ideas and notions of things that are going to happen before they happen, but i generally attribute that to a bond between the conscious and subconscious which ive purposefully been building since about the age of 19.  I doubt that I am an indigo but I am interested in knowing the symptoms so to speak, thanks for mentioning it here, ill do some reading on the subject, if you have any good links please post, maybe i'll also try to get my aura read again and see what it comes up as.

Seriously, I don't think so.

Gosh, and I know what you mean by the soulful eyes of the babes. The other day I was in Home Depot, I turned a corner and halfway down the aisle was this cute curly headed little guy. As I was walking down the aisle I smiled at him and he smiled back. I was looking at something else as I was passing by him and felt his little hand grab me! He grabbed me and stopped me, and proceeded to beam at me! It was a very touching moment. His mom had to coax him to let go of me... I didn't mind though big_smile.

Me too. Definitely, I wasn't "wise".

I thought you were just telling us about you as a child. It's too bad individuals often feel that if we talk about positive attributes of ourselves we'll seem to be bragging. You tell us all the good stuff about yourself as you choose to.

HA! This in itself sounds like an intuitive statement!

Deja vu happened to me a lot as a teenager and into my twenties, and I'm way to old to be an Indigo. That you have/had deja vu experiences points to how aware of your environment you are and that you're sensitive to "program changes" or glitches in the MCS, but montalk could explain this better than I I'm sure.

Please keep us abreast of what your research turns up... try googling "Indigo Children", I'm sure you'll get plenty of hits.

Re: Modern attitudes - young generation

november 27, which is sagittarius

i must say i can identify with all of the attributes on the bottom of the page http://www.indigochild.com/ but i'm guessing that would describe a lot of people here?

here are some other definitions
http://skepdic.com/indigo.html
http://www.sentienttimes.com/04/feb_mar_04/color.htm
http://www.greatdreams.com/indigo.htm (channeled)
the more i read the more possible it seems(assuming that the traits described are abnormal), it also seems to be very common now, the sentienttimes page says 95% of children in the last 10 years are "indigo"

Re: Modern attitudes - young generation

Personally I don't think anyone deep down is a "robot".  It's just that they have had a facade moulded over themselves - both by society and themselves - which means they often lead a superficial shallow life.  That's not to appear judgemental, but comes from my own observations.  (Of course, that’s not to say other negative forces and entities don’t have an effect upon people).

So naturally and of course there are people that are "regular humans" (if there is such a phrase).  I think it's all too easy for us to judge people on their outer actions and speeches.  And whilst this gives us an indication of other people’s thoughts - it doesn't put us in touch with their true "self".

And I feel that's where the problem is; in our society I see at least two aspects to this (which can then be further divided):

There are those who through various systems and forces have been put to sleep - or never been given cause to wake up, these are - usually but not exclusively - people of the age 40+.

Then there are the groups that appear to have manufactured personalities...these people aren't so much asleep at the wheel - rather they seem to be in charge of maintaining a false image based personality - this group usually comprises of people younger than 25.  People from 26 to 39 tend to fall into either category.

Ultimately it’s two different patterns that have the same result.

As I get further into understanding this – and this thread is becoming an aide to assist that understanding for all involved – it is becoming clearer as to the multiplicity of the numerous different ways people are asleep or “removed“?.

I use the term “removed“? because it appears that in the later younger category people seem more removed then they seem asleep.  But then maybe that’s just an incorrect assumption from my observations.  Though when you consider how differently each generation has been raised; it’s really not surprising this could result in people being spiritually disassociated in different ways.

Either way; I think Montalk makes a very important comment – that it isn’t for us to judge who awakens and who doesn’t…just as in the same way we cannot judge anyone’s purpose in life (if indeed there is a purpose for everyone or anyone)

As for the Indigo Children; in an odd synchronicity I followed a referral from my site and came across a fair bit of info. on Indigo Children.  However a lot of it does seem to be conflicting.

From experience one thing we do know (as Lyra and Auendove illusrate) that there appears to be people with a naturally higher awareness.  Maybe it’s too early to be applying labels to that, and maybe some of that info is bunk or plain disinfo.

But with that in mind here is some of the stuff I found.  Whilst some places state that Indigo Children were born after the 80’s, other information says there are numerous Indigo Adults who incarnated from 1950 and onwards.  The following characteristics can often be associated with Indigo Adults:

- Are intelligent, though may not have had top grades.

- Are very creative and enjoy making things.

- Always need to know WHY, especially why they are being asked to do something.

- Had disgust and perhaps loathing for much of the required and repetitious work in school.

- Were rebellious in school in that they refused to do homework and rejected authority of teachers, OR seriously wanted to rebel, but didn ´t DARE, usually due to parental pressure.

- May have experienced early existential depression and feelings of helplessness.

- These may have ranged from sadness to utter despair. Suicidal feelings while still in high school or younger are not uncommon in the Indigo Adult.

- Have difficulty in service-oriented jobs. Indigos resist authority and caste system of employment.

- Prefer cooperative efforts, leadership positions, or working alone.

- Have deep empathy for others, yet an intolerance of stupidity.

- May be extremely emotionally sensitive including crying at the drop of a hat (no shielding) Or may be the opposite and show no expression of emotion (full shielding).

- May have trouble with RAGE.

- Have trouble with systems they consider broken or ineffective ie. political, educational, medical, and legal.

- Alienation from or anger with politics - feeling your voice won ´t count and that the outcome really doesn ´t matter.

- Frustration with or rejection of the traditional American dream - 9-5 career, marriage, 2.5 children, house with white picket fence, etc.

- Anger at rights being taken away, fear and/or fury at "Big Brother watching you."

- They feel a burning desire to do something to change and improve the world. May be stymied what to do. May have trouble identifying their path.

- Have psychic or spiritual interest fairly young - in or before teen years.

- Had few if any Indigo role models.

- Have strong intuition.

- Random behavior pattern or mind style - (symptoms of Attention Deficit Disorder), may have trouble focusing on assigned tasks, may jump around in conversations.

- Have had psychic experiences, such as premonitions, seeing angels or ghosts, out of body experiences, hearing voices.

- May be electrically sensitive such as watches not working and street lights going out as you move under them, electrical equipment malfunctioning and lights blowing out.

- May have awareness of other dimensions and parallel realities.

- Sexually are very expressive and inventive OR may reject sexuality in boredom or with intention of achieving higher spiritual connection. May explore alternate types of sexuality.

- Seek meaning to their life and understanding about the world May seek this through religion or spirituality, spiritual groups and books, self-help groups and books.

-    If they find balance they may become very strong, healthy, happy individuals.

From:  http://www.metagifted.org/topics/metagi … ndigo.html

That can probably apply to a whole lot of people, but definitely moreso some than others.

So apparently there maybe some form of evolution occurring:

Indigos, Crystals, Rainbows & Angels

Indigos & Angels
Spiritual clairvoyant Dr. Doreen Virtue (angeltherapy), returned to the show, to share her insights about Crystal and Indigo children, as well as Angels.

Indigos, who are sometimes misdiagnosed with ADHD, are typically aged 13 to mid-20 ´s, often have problems with authority, and seek out integrity, she detailed.

The Crystal children, born starting in the 1990 ´s, are more docile and forgiving, she said. They shows signs of telepathy, have a role as peacekeepers, and may be misdiagnosed as autistic because they are often using telepathy instead of speaking, she added.

"I think we ´re seeing an evolution in progress and the medical community isn ´t keeping up," said Virtue who mentioned that the generation that will be born after the Crystal children, starting around 2012, will be called the Rainbow children. Some "scouts" have already been born, and she has met several, describing them as "saint-like" and "more interested in giving than receiving."

Angels, she stated, are non- denominational, cross-cultural archetypes who are "benevolent spiritual helpers." They can be readily summoned for healing or help, simply by calling out "Angels please help me," and then sincerely asking for what you need.

Interestingly, she noted that angels generally can ´t intervene unless they ´ve been asked. "Otherwise their wings are tied," she quipped. In some cases angels will offer guidance, but you have to listen and act on their suggestions, Virtue said, detailing how she received an angelic warning one hour before she was carjacked.

So I don’t know.  It whiffs of New Agism in many respects; but that wouldn’t invalidate any deeper meaning or truth that exists around this information.

Like I say; whilst it is useful to find and learn from such information; I don’t think it is greatly helpful to start applying fixed language and labels to such things – as that will fixate our ideas in regards to all this (which is still greatly an unknown?).  Basically I think that principle of trying not to adopt a “belief system“? with regards to this applies.

Eitherway; something certainly seems to be happening; and it is a polarisation affect.  On one end are the people being ever deeper entrenched in the physical beliefs and systems (as my opening post discusses)…on the other hand we have people that are naturally “aware“? to a higher level than many practiced individuals – as shown in other posts in this thread.

If there is some design behind this, or whether it is a natural evolution – or just observations learnt from a greater amount of available information I really wouldn’t like to conclude…

Re: Modern attitudes - young generation

Auendove, I've read the first Witches book - and found it very insightly (and well written as you say).  The vampire books also are written in much the same manner, and I would tend to say if you liked the Witches series, you would life the Vampire books too...

Re: Modern attitudes - young generation

sorry, i didnt mean to imply that anyone is an actual robot, i was just using the term to describe a person with a wealth of op-like qualities.  I personally never made up my mind on the whole OP issue, i have spoken to some bizarre people though.  For instance one of my friends since childhood doesn't seem to understand the concept of consciousness, i asked him about consciousness and he interpreted that as "memory"?

Re: Modern attitudes - young generation

I'd love to bring this thread back up and I am.

I think the Idigo description fits me almost form fitted, although I don't think of myself being better than anyone, except mabye in moments of rage.

Lately my personal awakening has really pushed me, not always helping me. And I had to have some guilty pleasures. Something to distract me, to think for me, to entertain me, to motivate me, to help me, to understand me.

The part of the description of Indigo people "not to sound corney or anything" is the habite to switch subjects, and usually whatever I write is incoherant and scrambled. I hurts me really to write clearly, I have urges to just bolt everything at once and rant on and on.

My generation, I'm 15 right now, is all about distraction, we are all so bored and surpressed we crave distractions, bloodythirst for entertainment, a relationship, myspace, T.V. and I above all am guilty of it. I learned over the years to lessen these cravings for distractions.

Writing poetry helps alot, and I'm lucky to have a great acting teacher who is really into everything here on NR, funny guy.

I look very young for my age my peer group usually take me for 1-2 years younger, ironically adults tell me I'm mature. I usually am in my "distration of peers" am looked down upon since I don't look as old as I "should" as well as I don't watch T.V. and where old shirts, I'm surprised i have a modern peer group.

Friends are assesories, a mirror of you and I have mabye mabye mabye one friend.
I often feel hopeless I feel as if im trapped not fully awakened , but at the same time it itches so bad whenever I distracte myself that I know im wasting my time.

MY GENERATION above all is not what they love to do but what they are, what they are going to be, they are blind to the view of institutions, programs, carrers as TOOLS. They define themselvs by what they have not what they do. A job as a teacher means to them they love being in a school, prowling amongst the students with great power. - My thought is a job as teacher is so that one who loves to share everything they know can use the institution of a schoolhouse as a tool to reach and spread there love.

We call inbalance being competitive and balance being lazy.  There is a clique of girls of boys in my school who love to talk about IQ scores, SAT's, test of personality, test that tell you what you are good at how you learn, and test on relationships. These are goody two shoes who believe in extreame knowledge of everything internal and external as a great gift they are scared of not being a genius, but above all they a sadist or something along the line, I should know I was one to fancy this cliche of thought.

There a those of distract themselves within the vast walls of friends they build a circle of distraction so that no matter where they go they are distracted, they feel the live on confidense the are the ones above all else. They are rich they are envy's envy they are ADDICTED TO DISTRACTION.Life is a game to them.

I'll spare everyone of my deep thoughts of high school cliches. (sarcasm) This is what is important not one of these groups does something, they are not cultures but networks. They are self sufficiant networks of distraction they've mastered it, or it has mastered them.

Ok enought of that rant continues.
I've begun a pyshic brigde with my thoughts of sorts. Synchs happen to me every day, coinsidenses beyond truth.

This generation has no poetry, only rythms can even try to stand up as poetry. Rap has degraded it self into distraction, I personally feel as if Tupac was a modern shakespeare the last inspiring soul of peotry.

I write peotry, often a diagnoses of my day, of my avoidenses with the boulders of distractions.

I myself often have troubles going beyond my five sense beyond black and white. NR might be a distraction also it's a grey area and It would hurt my ego admitting it.

Ok now to the subject of relationships. There are very little  relationships with my peer group just a couple of minds setting up a distraction for themseleves and then eventually break up when they are no longer able to distract themselves enough to enjoy themselves.
A Love is an idol , (A life is an Idol) " as Ivan Illich says"

This is why I am hopeless, deppresed because I try to starve my ego of these distractions, I guess I jumped in hot water.
It's not easy when the norm is distraction.

"Sanity is not Statistical" 1984 because if it is im a madman.

So basically distraction is the name of the game.

If the human mind was simple enough to understand, we'd be too simple to understand it.
