What makes you think there is a point to human life beyond having experiences here? "Birth, school, work, retire, die." Well, okay--but what about all the other experiences we have? What about everything we learn? We about everything we feel? "What's being done has been done and will be done again." Well, sure, but the important part is that you do it for yourself. As far as not feeling it, you're not meant to. That's part of the experience: the imposition of limitation. And God is not Jesus Christ, Brahman, or Allah. God is everything that exists, including you.

Re: purpose

chinesejycc, i like your honesty.

this question seems menial on the surface and most people won't dare  touch it with a ten-foot pole. reason being is because alot of intelligent people are asking themselves this same notion. i would like to add a tiny hint of inspiration to your original question:

rather, what are we all being pulled towards??the late great Terence Mckenna opened my eyes to this years ago, speaking about a quickening of experience towards some sort of cosmic transformation. rather than believing in starting with a big bang (the one miracel), it makes alot more sense to me that we're being pulled by some sort of spiritual force that resides outside of time, and we're only experiencing somewhat mundane existance or exilarating joyous experience, all of which are illusory in nature. love the illusion. it'll be over sooner than we think. the past is so fleeting in nature, who's to say what really happened? does it really matter? what matters is the intention. i think intent outweighs action big time. intention is creation and creation is love. love is awareness. THAT'S why we're here. to start to live consciously. once we're living with pure intent (in the moment with few desires) we will metamorphose into a new experience. the reason why this life can feel so mundane is because we know who's running the platform...the mind. this is old hat now. that's why its so meaningless to anyone trying to evolve.

i tend to think that many of us are going to metamorphize into a new existance beyond the word of form. i mean, look around. we have no other choice. our two choices are die in fear, struggle, get wiped out by the madness of culture, politics, technology, etc or chose love.

love vibrates much faster than fear and will supercede this plane. essentially into light bodies. this isn't some channelled malarkey disinformation that seemed to run rampant with the whole new age movement twisting love into unconsciousness. this is something we the people need to address and implement into a reality. i know, easier said than done, but we gotta start somewhere. i believe the way out exists in this moment (where the mind can't exist) this is the key...this has to be the foundation for shifting in frequency.

Re: purpose

I think your purpose is in some regards already chosen by you, or the highest consciousness. So in essence your real purpose is learning how to hear, listen and walk instep with that voice, Spirit, sense of peace, what have you.

Just some thoughts.

Re: purpose

Chinesejycc - welcome to the forum.

A few thoughts come to mind but the first one comes from your post script or whatever it's called:
"Lifes a bitch and then you die, that's why we get high..."

From my experience, I've found that getting high works ... but only temporarily.  You feel better and then after awhile you feel numb.  Numb to the stupidity, numb to the seemingly pointless doings of "life".

And feeling numb long enough prevents you from FEELING.

It's been said that life is a feeling, not an intellectual exercise. (Theun Mares)  Moreover, to find meaning in one's life is perhaps one of the reasons we are alive.  The meaning doesn't come from anyone else but  ourselves.

Many will try to enforce their meaning, or enforce their thinking, their path.  That's why it's incumbent to be as awake as one can and to step out and away from the "tick-tock" (Stuart Wilde) existence so many get comfortable in.  As least that's what I've come to know.

It's actually much easier to just be a drone and go along with the program.  But to me, that program spells death ... and for a long time.

I've not found waking up an easy process.  In fact, more often than not, I think - right!  I get it.
Or found it or whatever only to then realize ... damn, I'm stuck ... now what?  Where to from here?

It's a constant battle (that's why some call truth seekers "warriors") to fight for our freedom ...

But, hey, it's also a lot of fun, full of feeling and rarely boring and you meet some incredible human beings along the way!

Re: purpose

I think the purpose of human life may be the reception, conversion, and transmission of certain influences which contribute to the life of the planet. If you look at plants, one of their purposes is to take in carbon dioxide and emit oxygen. I think we are supposed to perform similar functions at many levels, from the physical to the spiritual. Things are so bad because our race has been neglecting its "influence conversion" duties for tens of thousands of years.

It seems our organic functioning has been replaced by mechanical functioning enforced by civilization through the group mind. I suspect this situation was orchestrated by a malevolent and parasitic consciousness who does not care if we die or if the planet dies. This same parasite may be diverting the energy we produce and eating it, as well as influencing the type of energy which is produced. This results in misery for us.

The best way to determine your purpose is to forget everything civilization has taught you and to base your actions and thoughts on what you know to be true. Pay attention to your internal states, and how other people affect them. Many people use the rules of civilization in order to drain you of energy. A family member might manipulate your sense of duty in order to induce feelings of guilt. A boss might manipulate your sense of self-worth in order to induce feelings of anxiety. A police officer might manipulate your sense of status in order to induce feelings of fear. If you don't allow them to do these things, then you have the possibility of directing your energy towards other goals--such as self-remembering, the cultivation of peace, wisdom, discernment, and more.

There is no point to life as it is lived by most people, except to feed Molech or whatever you want to call the evil parasite-god. But that doesn't mean there is no point to life itself.

Re: purpose

Hi all,

Well, I'll relay some stuff that was conveyed to me by my Higher Self, if you would call it that.   I've laid down / sat down a few times over the past 3 years to ask it (me....it.....whatever it is!  big_smile )  some questions about various things, usually "important" heavy duty type stuff / concepts, and always I've gotten some AMAZING feedback.  It rivals anything put out by channeling, is all I can say.  So far in 3 years it has never been wrong.    Quite a good track record!  But regarding that big question "why we're here", here's what I was told:

-It's not all about me, me, me.  *my* spiritual evolution, *my* personal experiences, *my* personal growth, me me me.  This is something that people forget.  We all come from the Creator Source, which means we're extensions of that.   Ideally we should act like the extensions of the Creator Source that we are in everything we do and say.   smile

I know, we ALL flub this one up, quite often.   It can be a hard concept to fully live.  I have been trying to remind myself of this, and in many ways it's helped alleviate grumpy scowling feelings I would normally have had towards someone(s).   But for every person I manage to override the negative reaction with, there's always one that I don't.   So I'm 50/50.    It's not that I can't do it.  It's just that I get lazy and I don't do it.  We're all capable of acting in a higher manner, overriding negative knee jerk reactions and programmed responses.  We just have to reeeaaaaally work on it, 24/7 and be committed to it.

- At this point in my higher self conversation I started to formulate a difficult question, then I cut myself off because I realized I didn't have much time, the window of opportunity was only open for a short burst and that's it,  (I usually ALWAYS get the smack-down interference when I connect to my Higher Self, something realizes what I'm doing and immediately causes interference to break the connection and cut the conversation short.)    So what I did was just throw the question at my higher self in a "telepathic thought ball", and said "Here, you know what I'm trying to ask...."

It responded right back with an image that it knew I was already familiar with from a prevoius conversation 2 years ago.  It was an image of the Creator Source, appearing as light on the right side of my field of view, with little pinpoints of light all eminating from it, rushing outwards into the universe, each one connected by a fine thread to every other light.   Every one of them rushing outward to go experience life, good and bad, and everything in between, on behalf of the Creator Source.    We all come from the Creator Source, we're all here on behalf of the Creator Source, and we're all connected.

Seems simplistic, but honestly, how many people keep this in mind during their day to day activities?  Not many.  I certainly didn't, and STILL forget, despite being shown this same concept several times in varying forms over the past 3 years.   This concept seems to be at the heart of the advise I've gotten from my Higher Self, the most repeated bit of advise.

So, there you have.   We're here to experience life.  We're here on behalf of that which is responsible for our existance.   So enjoy it as much as possible, get as much out of it.  And remember that your personal growth and evolution isn't really about you, it's about striving to reconnect to where you originally come from, a long long "time" ago.   wink

Re: purpose

An english writer once wrote "A mans life is like a diary in which he intends to write one story but ends up writing another" Thats about all i know. i knoe that we exist in the metaphysical and the physical. i knoe there are things which we cannot comprehend which occur al around us. i knoe that wut i knoe may not be true. i knoe like lyra said everything is connected. every action will affect everyone everywhere eventually. no matter how miniscule. a tree falling in the forest with no one to hear it does make a sound. wut i dont knoe is why we are hear. and where we go from here.

Re: purpose

Some very profound and insightful coments here in this thread.

I'd especially like to second everything that lyra posted above.  This mirrors my own recent experiences and learning in matters of Spirit.   This world sometimes seems designed to keep us busy and distracted from what's really important.

And I have learned that it's a very simple thing: to work towards living the Christ Spirit.  And by that I speficially DON'T mean by practicing what's known as Christianity, or any other organized religion or philosophy.  All one needs to do is first to recognize that spark that exists within themselves -- that inner voice, or sense, that guides you and lets you know what's right or wrong.  A lot of people ignore it, but if you're willing to listen it will be there.  Make YOURSELF a holy person bit by bit and piece by piece, through your thoughts, words, and actions.  If you're confused, ask for guidance.  Then, be willing to recognize the answers when they appear, because when they appear they won't be in any way that would allow you to "prove" it.  No, it doesn't work that way.  But if you ask respectfully -- and for guidance, not for a new car  -- an answer will manifest itself in due time.  Oh yes, and be patient.  You can try and force things to happen sooner if you like, but then you must pay the price, whatever it may be.

In essence, the point is not to allow other people or churches to lead you astray, because if you REALLY want to know the truth, just ask the Spirit and an answer will manifest, and if you're paying attention you'll know when it arrives and then you won't have to worry about whether it's good advice or not, since it's coming from the top. smile

As lyra said, it's not about "me" -- it's about doing the will of the Creator by sharing your knowledge and wisdom in the spirit of love with those below you, while simultaneously accepting with great thanks and respect the guidance of those above you, whether it's a great teacher or some person half your age who just happens to know something you don't and is willing to share with you.

Pretty simple stuff, once you nail it down.

Re: purpose

I've thought of an analogy that may be useful.  Generally, for most people (including me), the ego is the foreground and everything else is the background.

I think it's possible to experience a shift of perspective where everyhthing else is the foreground and the ego is the background.

Osho and also Ken Wilber are particularly good at describing this.  I like the books "Intuition" and "Awareness" by Osho.

If the ego is "lost" during this shift, then the experience may be experienced but it could come across as confusion.  I think it is possible to transcend the ego rather than "lose" the ego.  People here have referred to this on other threads.

If the ego is transcended, then you still have access to it.  If asked, you could still come up with your name and zip code.

The shift that we may be living through and that may culminate within the next 10 years or so, may make experiences like this much more readily accessible.

The process can be thought of as going on a ride.  In order to start the ride, you need to forget who you are (e.g. an aspect of transendental awareness).  The joy is in going thorugh the process of remembering once again the huge unlimited beings that we are.

For some of us, the game may be to wake up a little before other people, so that we can help others to adjust to the change.
