The Holographic Universe by Michael Talbot

Aya, how is this book, i am really interested in holographic theory. havent found a good book on it tho.

It's an excellent book, I highly recommend it.  I had it on my list too, and montalk had it on his list of book recommendations on his website.   For me, the reason I like it is because Talbot uses the holographic theory to explain away a lot of seemingly separate phenomenon.  Not to say it's a "one size fits all!" theory, but he does make you think about a lot of things, makes you see things in a whole new light.  It's easy to read, without being dumbed down, it's fun and informative, you'll learn something and have a good time doing it.   It's just a really good book....go get it!   big_smile

It's a book I strongly recommend you read, so don't hesitate in buying it, particularly if the subject already interests you.

What I liked about it is that it's very easy to understand. Because the author isn't a scientist himself he's done an excellent job in making an often complex subject easily accessible to the average reader.

He also addresses many subjects you would rarely ever come across in a 'science' book. Subjects like paranormal phenomena, out-of-body experiences, lucid dreaming and mystical experiences. Even Ayahuasca gets a mention somewhere!

Anyway it's quite a long time since I've read it, so my memories of it aren't too specific, but I promise you'll enjoy reading it!

Re: Favorite books-list yours

There's a book, which although I put it on my list, I'd like to give an extra special mention to, because not many people seem to have read it, and it's definitely worth a place in anyone's spiritual book collection.

The book is called "The Prophets Way" by Thom Hartman and it's a sort of a spiritual memoir. An extraordinary and beautiful book about Thom's own spiritual journey.

If you're only interested in reading about highly advanced spiritual knowledge about the nature of the universe, then you might not enjoy it, but otherwise it's one of the best spiritual books I've ever read.

If you like to read reviews before you buy then go to this link:

I think that version is out of print now, and for some reason they've given it a crappy new cover and changed the name slightly, but if you want to buy it go here:

Re: Favorite books-list yours

Speaking of books, I'm surprised to see two books are translated to Turkish recently; these are Flower of Life - Drunvalo and Nothing In This Book Is True... - Bob Frissel. I was hearing about these two names both here on NR and in other sources for some time. I immediately began to read Frissel. It's interesting and crazy.

Next I'll read Drunvalo. As I read from other topics, some of you are sure he's corrupted and full of disinformation. I don't know anything about him or his works but I think it's about sacred geometry which I have no idea about. A new research area for me maybe!

It's always disinformation books which get translated worldwide... Pretty sad.

Re: Favorite books-list yours

I wanted to resurrect this thread to highlight an author that was mentioned here........Robert Bruce, author of "Astral Dynamics", as well as "Practical Psychic Self Defense."

I haven't read the first book but I have indeed read the second, which I loved and was GREATLY helped with, and so when we had the opportunity to MEET Mr. Bruce in person last week here in  Charlottesville, I was so there!

Robert Bruce was speaking at Quest Books downtown, for free! and signing copies of his books.  There were only a couple of dozen people present, so it was nice and intimate, and we were the youngest ones there!  big_smile   Everybody else was 40's and older.   But it was just incredible being able to see him in person and hear him talk about his material in his own words.   He's Ausssie, which means he's very friendly, good sense of humor and very down to earth, as all Aussies seem to be.   smile   He had a good vibe about him, seemed sincere, didn't get a feeling of deception or being closed or controlled by anything.   We were kind of curious about that actually, to see what he eminated, so we weren't disappointed.   He related some of the stories that you'll read about in "Practical Psychic Self Defense", and answered any questions or comments people in the audience had.   I didn't ask anything, too shy, but I did want to stop by and say hi before we left, and personally thank him for his Psychic Self Defense book.  It was the first source to give me answers to many puzzling incidents that I've witnsessed and which have just been sitting on the back burner, unresolved, for several years now.  Then along came his book, mentioning very specific, very detailed things which I haven't found anywhere else, but which match up to a T, 100%.  It was like DING!DING!DING! reading that book, very exciting.

So, I stopped, thanked him, and he thanked ME and shook my hand.  What a guy!  I love him, he's awesome.  So, just wanted to pass this along, and bring attention to his works if you're not already familiar with him.  The man knows what he's talking about when it comes to paranormal happenings, entities, attachments, and the other realms.  He's been there and experienced most all of it firsthand.   The details that can be found in his books are stuff I've verified on my own, which is how I know it to be pretty damn accurate.    A particular topic that he's very interested in involves children and the paranormal, being that they are able to see more than closed off, programmed adults, and are very vulnerable to attack and harrassment.  There's an entire chapter in his book devoted to this, which is a must-read I think for all parents with young children.

Anyway, just thought I'd pass it along......

Re: Favorite books-list yours

Wow. Quite a story! I read the book Astral Dynamics back in 2003 and I liked it. I even have a story about coming close to a OBE where both my arms actually felt like they did exit. It was his 'rope pull' technique that I used to achieve it. Funny thing is that I hadn't even done any of the multitudes of conditioning techniques from the book. It just so happens that I had been awake for 33 hours straight and decided to sit down and try the exit technique out of the blue since it seemed to me to be similar to the 'just woke up' state covered in the book.
