Topic: Desperate, yet funny sign...

On the road today I saw a HUGE handmade sign posted on the side of a van parked off the highway. It read--

WANTED: Good, honest girlfriend 46-54 yoa (along with a phone number)

I know it's desperate and almost pathetic, but it made me laugh so hard I damn near wizzed myself roll.

Poor guy, he must've had a really bad experience, eh? Maybe even more than one bad experience.

Go to a bar to meet someone? Uhn-uhn. Read the personals? Uhn-uhn. Dating services? Nope. Blind date set-ups? GACK!

Hmmmm.... why not post a sign on the side of the road? Yeah, that'll work!

It would be even sadder if there was a shopping cart all loaded up with "stuff", garbage bags covering it- right next to the van...

Personally, I think there's probably a really compelling human-interest story behind this desperate sign. I've decided if I see it again I'm going to write down the number and give him a call to ask how it's going.

I may think it's sad/desperate, and at the same rate funny as all get out, but when I think about it it's also very creative. I'm curious as to what drives a fellow human being to do something like this. I sure as heck know I couldn't do it! big_smile Can you imagine the whack-a-doos that'll come out to play with this one? Whoa!

EDIT--Ha ha ha! Boy-oh-boy, I saw those three fingers pointing back on me the instant after I posted this, so I have to write.... and I guess that includes whack-a-doo me! I'm not looking for a new boyfriend though, I've got my hands full enough with the one I've got now roll.
