Re: Anti-depressants make you shop?
Depression is a natural process during which the person attempts to get back in touch with his/her soul / life force. Toxic medicines only prevent this process to be completed.

Agreed.
American culture (and many other modern cultures blindly following suit) says we must have constant happy faces. Perform, perform! Run, rabbit run.
Natural energy levels fluctuate. Sometimes we need to move inward, hibernate.
Sometimes we need to relax and practice the art of doing nothing.
But many get stuck in depression because they are still committed to the game, believing the pretense to be real and then being upset with themselves for not fitting into that falsehood.
So for those who are stuck in depression and feel isolated, it might help to confirm that there is a greater Truth than the one they were fed by their sick and ailing culture.
I guess this folds back in on your quote, because if we were going to be real as a society we would not force drugs down the throats of the many, many individuals who are falling into depression, but take a real look at WHY this is happening in such great numbers.
Even if it is a natural part of emotional cycles, the clinical "stuck" depression that is so prevalent is a red flag. It is remarkable to me how many people in my general circle of aquaintances, friends and family are on some kind of mood-stabilizer.
And when I suggest that this might not be the best course of action, most people are so, so quick to defend these pharmeceuticals....
"She just needs it right now"
"It's helping her, at least she can function."
We are so afraid to STOP. Stop functioning! Stop juggling, stop running, stop being busy, stop avoiding.
My depression came so hard that there was nothing that could have broken it. I needed to STOP and examine and question. And I questioned EVERYTHING! I was being pushed into directions that were wrong for my soul. I am so grateful that I didn't end up on chemicals that might have kept me sailing in the wrong direction.
What a beautiful, difficult journey. What a blessing.
Beautifully said, thank you
My journey has been very similar. The most important thing I learnt is that there is no reason to be afraid of sorrow and suffering.
