Topic: Fair use rights and digital television

The EFF is going to court to fight an FCC rule requiring a "broadcast flag" on digital television signals.  This is a digital marker that will prevent you from recording programs.

There was a similar case in the 80s (the Betamax decision) where the court held that people have a "fair use" right to record TV broadcasts using their VCR.    Now that we're moving to all-digital modes of transmission, the same fights are happening again.
