Very nice post, feedbaxlow. Thank you.

I can now see the source of the disconnect between the points of view.  It's my fault for not seeing it sooner.  My apologies.

Re: Alignment With Darkness

A few more thoughts about inner alignment.

Bob Dylan wrote : "You're gonna have to serve somebody,
It may be the devil or it may be the lord
but your gonna have to serve somebody"

Simple song writen by Dylan when he was a christian, these few lines reflect his belief that one serves one of two forces external to himself.  ie... Either Jesus or the devil.  In Dylan's view [grafted onto him by the clergy] it was a simple formula which would result, after physical death, in either reward or punishment by external persons... Jesus or the devil.
Simple.

At that time Dylan probably didn't ask himself who and what "the lord" is, or, who and what "the devil" is.  If he had, he may have considered the possibility that they are forces existing within himself.  At inner levels, the "lord" is who Dylan really is, made in the image of his spiritual Creator.  The "devil" is something of what Dylan has made of himself [in manifest form] during his long sojourn in the material planes.  One is intrinsic to his immortal spiritual identity and the other is the familiar, mortal- self.  The "outer darkness" of that psuedo- self is the 'battleground' of "duality consciousness" in Dylan and in the rest of us.  That  unreal- self does a thorough job of designating the roles of "good and evil" to everything based on personal attraction and revulsion, much of which is merely a projection of societal values, parental nurture and psychology molded by past life experiences.  Spiritual discernment plays little or no part in that level of perception.

In it's spiritual blindness, the lower- ego [which is "duality consciousness"] labels different aspects of itself and it's environment "good and evil".  These designations are arbitrary when viewed from the lower perspective of duality- consciousness and often change with the fashion of the times and personal expediency.  But beyond that, viewed with the eye of spiritual realisation, God is good and good is God.  ie...  There is no good "outside" of God.  But at the level of duality this statement can easily be argued with.

"Ahh" say the Aghori...  "But God is everything and everything is God.  It's all good.  Prove it is not so"

All the "goods" and "evils" of duality consciousness can be proven unreal by the power of personal transmutation.  You can prove this to yourself.  And when you have done so you will probably still be called evil by people caught in duality consciousness.  So there you go.  Duality consciousness will come to it's own conclusions without the discernment of spirit.   And while others may consider you "evil" they will fete and fawn over their enemies, considering them "good" as they chase them around worshipping them or voting for them or whatever ... and they chase you around with a stick!

Every erg of spiritual energy which we have invested in the lower forms of our own duality- consciousness can be transmuted within ourselves and thereby withdrawn from it's lower forms.... anger, fear, hate, greed, deciet, envy, self pity...etc.   Transmuting that darkness into light is the only way to free that personal energy from the lower forms so that it returns to it's origin in spirit.  And when that work is done... our souls also return to spirit.  There is no other way out of the planes of matter.  Self- transformation is the only game in town for anyone interested in the rest of this universe.  Otherwise the gravity of the lower worlds will keep us imprisoned  here in the tomb of matter.   That is what the womb has become.  The weight of our karmic energy [locked in our sub- conscious] will constantly draw us back through the wheel of rebirth and back into the "valley of the shadow of death".  Right here.

We must literally withdraw our investment of spiritual light from the dark forms of our own lower- consciousness and be willing to confont our creations with forgiveness and compassion for ourselves and others as we re- align with spirit.  No guilt, no condemnation.   We won't be perfect while we're at it but we will be transformed in the process if we are not tempted to quit.   No matter how often we fall down under the weight of karma or opposition from dark forces we get back up and continue on.  Some would say there is nothing to do.  Well, recieving and giving and forgiving is something to "do".  We are animated and motivated by the spirit as we do and willing to act as directed from within.

The Great Spirit has been willing for us to draw upon the infinite supply in order to create [Brahma] and sustain [Vishnu] our own miscreations at will.  But not forever.  Sooner or later we must also destroy those creations [Shiva] so that by the power of transmutation, our pride and egotism and all inner strife can literally melt away in the divine love of inner- spirit and set our souls free.  We cannot know the fullness of divine selfhood all at once and so we must go through that process of being purged by faith in the will of spirit and works by way of proving it.  Ironically that process necessitates a self acceptance of ourselves just as we are... all the while being willing to see and surrender the unreality of the shadow-  self... step by step as it appears to our perception.   We are like an Egyptian mummy being unwrapped bit by bit, except inside is a perfectly alive form, ready to step forth and truly live.  "Shiva" [divine love] is positively surgical in stripping away the garments of psuedo- selfhood which shroud the beauty of the soul.  There is nothing to lose but the karmic fat of the pseudo- self as we shed it's layers ... step by step.

Some would say that there is no path so there are no steps.  But it's like climbing Mt Everest with your pack and horses and supplies.  At some stage the gentle hills get steeper, then steeper.  At times a sheer rockface must be climbed.  Most of the animals and acouterments which seemed necessary before, now become too unwieldly, too heavy to take any further.  Likewise, the dark energies of the shadow- self are very dense, very heavy compared to the light vibrations of spirit.  They have to be removed in order to 'climb' higher into higher consciousness on the spiritual path.  It's no accident that the word "light" also means "not heavy".

During our long sojourn, as we walked this path and as the light was turned to darkness within us, we got so dense at times that we lost our connection with spirit.  That darkness has not been merely the absence of light.  It is light that has been changed into lower denser vibrations.  It is now trapped in our subconscious and will remain as karmic seed for the propagation of more darkness unless freed by the inner- spirit.  Only the transformation of that energy can break the karmic cycles we're caught in.   The denser energies are heavy and act like dark clouds in the subconscious, sometimes filtering the light through to conscious awareness and sometimes blocking it out completely.  As always we now have a choice regarding how we align ourselves.  And it is not a one time choice.  We must choose everyday.... often.  We can align ourselves with the black clouds of that ages old darkness by acting it out [which obscures the light even more], or we can align with the sonshine of the inner christ no matter how little we find at first.  As we seek to align and work with the inner light, it increases... and the darkness reduces.  This is done in very natural ways.  No regalia or props are required.   No affilliation with this or that creed is necessary.

We're just beggining to restore the conscious awareness of the subtle energies of spirit.  But the denser energies resident in the subconscious can literally prevent the breakthrough to conscious spiritual awareness for a lot of people.  And even when we experience it, it can easily disappear again.   Sometimes "mara" the "evil one" throws everything at us to prevent our souls communion with spirit too. [ie... interior darkness or astral demons... self- sabotage or hyperdimensional ambush]  That's what happened to Guatama as he was about to experience the enlightenment of spirit.  "Mara" threw everything at him to throw him off balance.  But Guatama touched the earth with the earth touching mudra saying "Vajra" ... ie... I have a right to be doing what i am doing, right here, right now.  Guatama went on to reach divine oneness in that incarnation and he transcended the earthplane for good.

Continual appeals are made to our souls to withdraw our alignment from darkness and materialism and to re- align with the inner light of the spiritual- self.  Anyone who "wants out " can do so but it is a matter of first withdrawing one's energy from the lower forms of consciousness by self- transmutation.  That is achieved in many ways... by meditation, talking to the higher- Self, listening to the HS, loving service to others, affirmations, prayer and contemplation, singing devotional songs, washing the dishes, or patting a dog.  These can open the heart and magnetise a flow of spiritual energy from the HS into conscious awareness.   And slowly, over a lifetime, we can transmute the energies which constitute the lower- self and transcend this plane of action.   Otherwise the karmic weight of the dark energy might continually draw us back into a world where like attracts like and where the dualistic 'battles of armageddon' rage continually within our own untransmuted psyche and in our world.  To what extent these dualistic forces predominate in a person is determined by the fidelity of the soul to the  spiritual Self or alignment to the dark psuedo- self.  The psuedo- self is not only defined by the extreme and more obvious manifestations of darkness.  The ego plays a lot of more subtle tricks to stay hidden and untransmuted so we are easily blind sided to it's many hiding places in our own consciousness.  The "devil" indeed.

...................................................................................................................................................................
I nearly forgot Bob.

Bob Dylan might now look in the mirror and see the reflection of a man.  The image may be decieving.  In front of the mirror, Dylan might hold up one of his hand scrawled placards with the word "lived" written on it representing his own life.   If he is interested in what he has made of his life he might also read the placard in the mirror... before he throws it away.  He may now get an inkling about who the "devil" might be and how the devil came to have a place in his own present experience.  The life Dylan has "lived" for aeons has produced an amalgamate identity.  He cannot re- live it but he can survey it.  One part of the amalgum is the portal to infinite spirit... the hidden "lord",  the other is "the devil" ...duality consciousness in the familiar form of a finite puny mortal.

In any person, both light and darkness are spun from the same thread [that is Spirit's self- sacrifice] but the soul has clothed itself in an identity chosen by freewill experiences.  The soul's original garment of identity [the aura of light] has become sullied and tattered by experience so that the threads of divine identity [light mostly hidden] have become entwined with an external mortal identity [darkness] which no longer conforms to his spiritual origin and no longer shines like the sun.  The soul has freewill to not conform to the Sun / Son  if it so wills.  If not, the fruit of experience will become more withered and bitter the further in vibration the soul gets from spirit.   Over time, the external psuedo- identity in which the soul is imprisoned becomes more and more "out of alighnment" ["dhukka" as Guatama taught] with the interior spiritual identity.  This causes more and more "suffering" as Guatama taught.  A house divided cannot stand, nor a house built on sand.  But that house built upon the rock, that solid foundation [of spirit] whose chief cornerstone is christ, will rise in geometric form to become spiritually perfected ... a lighthouse for others dashed upon the rocks below.

Yes, indeed. The following came to me when I read your answer:

Consciousness.
The awareness of being aware.
The location of consciousness.
Time and place.
Unique viewpoint.
One law in the universe.
What you pay attention to is what you become conscious of.

Nothing new, original or profound on my part, but it's a good reminder. Thank you.

From a scientific perspective:

Resonance is a common thread which runs through almost every branch of physics, and yet a lot of people have never studied it. Without resonance we wouldn't have radio, television, music, or swings on playgrounds, not to mention cool gismos like Tesla coils. Of course, resonance also has its dark side. It occasionally causes a bridge to collapse, a helicopter to fly apart, or other inconveniences. Unlike black holes, time travel, and quantum mechanics, resonance is common place and easy to observe. Yet, it is one of the most striking and unexpected phenomenon in all of physics.

Diffraction refers to various phenomena associated with the bending of waves when they interact with obstacles in their path. It occurs with any type of wave, including sound waves, water waves, and electromagnetic waves such as visible light, x-rays and radio waves. As physical objects have wave-like properties, diffraction also occurs with matter and can be studied according to the principles of quantum mechanics. While diffraction always occurs when propagating waves encounter obstacles in their paths, its effects are generally most pronounced for waves where the wavelength is on the order of the size of the diffracting objects. The complex patterns resulting from the intensity of a diffracted wave are a result of interference between different parts of a wave that traveled to the observer by different paths.

Re: Alignment With Darkness

Good and evil are the same thing, its a false choice.  As it says in the bible when adam and eve at from the tree of knowledge knowing both good and evil.

Re: Alignment With Darkness

Good and evil are not "the same thing" Piece_ofnothing.

After eating the fruit of "knowlege" Adam and Eve  "knew" 'good and evil' from the perspective of duality consciousness not from the perspective of Oneness or innocence. (inner sense).   They partook of the fruit of relativity because they expressed relativity.  It was their first negative karmic act which resulted in their first taste of bitter fruit... ie.. the nakedness of duality consciousness.  They had lost the consciousness of the ONE by a freewill choice to act contrary to the inner voice of Spirit.   What that act was we do not know because "eating the fruit of the knowlege of good and evil" is allegorical, not literal.  They participated in a lower vibration somehow.  They = We.

It was not a "false" choice either.  It was their first error.  But, having made the choice to disobey the inner- Self  they fell into a lower state of consciousness where "good and evil" are often false choices merely because can we no longer properly discern which is which.  Eg... Goebbels thought gassing and incinerating people was a "good" idea and that eating spinach was "bad"... whereas Popeye cartoons show us the truth that spinach is "good" and that incinerating people is a "bad" idea.  The "truth" is that it's better to beat the crap out of someone after a can of spinach than it is to burn them.  See what a can of worms "good" and "evil" has become?  Duality consciousness based on attraction and revulsion can designate anything at all "good" or "evil" without the discernment of inner- Spirit.  But that doesn't mean there is no such thing as good and evil from the POV of Spirit.  That is why God warned Adam and Eve not to partake of a lower vibration.

I just said the exact same thing You did Nexus , False=error does it not.

Re: Alignment With Darkness

Also Dont some of the most evil people think they are doing good (hitler, Fanatic christians, Etc.)

Good vs evil is an illusion is all i am saying.  Some people think they are so good that all they can see is the evil in the world and they try to fight the evil sometimes through war, same is true of evil people.

A most excellent post, Feedbaxlow, and once again, the very thing I needed to remember at this moment.

All my meditation, contemplation and introspection always and inevitably leads me to this understanding: that all things, however we judge them, including suffering and death, serve the ultimate source of life itself. That's the beautiful mystery we are here to explore.

Just think what our lives would be like if we could face whatever comes to us without preconditioned judgment and our own fears, and with the knowledge that what we go through is designed to lead us back to the most fundamental source of our spirit. We could experience each thing just for itself and learn exactly the lesson that thing is bringing to us. We would become masters at transmuting what seems dark into a more profound experience of our own deep light... which is what the darkness, our shadow, is challenging us to do.

And here's the way to do it from our sage Nexus. You make the choice to listen to your higher self--your own sacred knowing, or to be distracted and pulled away from your center by the noise of the challenges you face.

Simple, right? But not always easy. And as Nexus points out, it's a process that takes a lifetime. You make this choice every day, every moment. That's why so many have termed the process spiritual warfare, because you have to keep that stance in your own center with vigilance, continually.

But this is not about violence in any way. The more you keep to the deep reality, the more you recognize that it really is illusion. And this recognition leads to your freedom.

Make your choice with joy, and with peace.
