Topic: Bread and Circuses for Mormons?
I was doing some research online when I stumbled upon a Mormon blog: http://mormanity.blogspot.com/
Jeff Lindsay, member of the LDS uses his blog to prove the validity of The Book of Mormon through supposed antropological evidence and other research. I read a few of his articles and immediately thought of the Protocol (The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion) that states that people will be distracted with bread and circuses.
It is known that the Smith family has strong ties to Freemasonry and that Freemasonry is alleged to have ties to these 'Learned Elders of Zion'. Perhaps Joseph Smith Jr. was imparted with pieces of hidden history and knowledge which he was instructed to place in his Book of Mormon. Perhaps this was done so that the Mormons as well as their detractors had something to keep them busy (bread and circuses.) Then again, maybe he used this imparted knowledge and created his own mythology to enlighten those who saw it for what it was.
