Topic: THE BLACK HOLOCAUST

Friends I am currently researching the painful and tragic history of slavery. My knowledge of slavery was woefully inadequate so I decided to get educated on the subject. I was shocked to discover, that slavery is still very much around today, in our modern world. Countries such as Sudan and Mauritannia are still enslaving negroes. Malaysia and Eastern Europe are trafficing for the sex trade. There is a campaign to stop these crimes against humanity.

I recommend the following book as an introduction to Slavery:

"The Black Holocust - For Beginners" by S.E. Anderson ISBN 0 86316 178 2

The book states that the numbers of Africans taken as slaves during the 17th; 18th & 19th Centuries exceeded sixty million. American and European Capitalism has built its wealth on this abomination according to Anderson.

My first question is - should Bush's "Free World" (U.S & Europe) now pay some sort of compensation to the Third World for this Historic Crime?

My second question is - what can be done to free today's modern slaves from the yoke of oppression?

Thankyou for your attention. All the best, Joseph

Re: THE BLACK HOLOCAUST

Slavery was abolished by the north to wipe out the industrial war making potential of the south so I have read. The Emancipation proclamation was not issued til 2 yrs after the war had already started. Am no expert on this topic, but I have heard that only 5% of land owners back in those times were slave owners. Very horrible it was. I think we should have some African teachings out in front of the Supreme court right along side of the 10 commandments. Some native American teachings as well. If the reason the 10 commandments are there is to preserve historical data, then why not have African teachings? after all, they were here the same time as the whites were. The Indians were here before them.

It think it is to much to say this, still the influence of US foreign politics is clear since the beginning of the Cold War, and has increased every decade to culminate with the Iraq wars. Still EU had strong word about all this.
To go back to your question, yes I think some compensation and reparations are needed and are something that should be done. This whole period in human history is a black spot, can't be erased but it can be redeemed some how.
We can start by having the leaders of the countries that used slave labor to publicly apologize for the crimes of their ancestors. This is a common thing done in the Bible, and it should be done if we held it's teachings to such a high rank and consider them the corner stone for our modern law system.

I dare any alien to come to meet with me. If you are out there come see me I'll keep it between us (no publicity). Do you have what it takes? ...thought so! Or do you think you are to good for me?  ha ha ha ha
