Topic: What the $#@% Do We Know!?

I know there's a few people here that have seen this film. God knows when it will arrive in the UK. I'd imagine the DVD will be released before that ever happens. I hope I can see it soon though!

Anyway I thought their latest newsletter was very interesting. This movie seems to be really affecting people, and it's been hugely successful already just through word of mouth alone. Looks like it's about to be even more successful.

Could this film, and perhaps The Celestine Prophesy Movie which is released next year, help bring about a consciousness shift in people.

Also notice the headline, Could this be a fairly subtle reference to the C's?

--------------------------

THE WAVE IS ABOUT TO BREAK...

It started nearly nine months ago - our march on the movie
theaters of America. Convincing them that there was an
audience for thoughtful, entertaining, transformative films.
For What the BLEEP Do wE (k)now!?".

THE WAVE STARTED AS AN EARTHQUAKE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE
OCEAN...

After a month we bagged our first theater, in little Yelm,
Washington. After numerous sell-outs (i.e. proven receipts
($$$)) we bagged the Bagdad theater in Portland. Again
numerous sell-outs (and an 18 week run) and we moved, this
time to a couple of theaters in Arizona, then a few more in
Oregon. Up to Seattle, then down to L.A. Same story over and
over - sell-outs, 12 week runs and "Oh my God where are
these people coming from!?!?"

A TSUNAMI STARTS AS A ONE INCH SWELL IN THE OCEAN.

We hit the West Coast and from there moved East. Setting
theater records in Boulder and Denver. Along the way picking
up a National Distributor, who realized that something was
going on. What the BLEEP it was - who's to say.

AND IN A WEEK, SEPTEMBER 10TH, THAT WAVE COMES CRASHING
DOWN.

On the East Coast, The Great Lakes, the Mississippi. And all
the rivers and lakes in between.

Friday September 10 the full nationwide rollout begins: New
York, Boston, Washington DC, Chicago, Minneapolis, Dallas,
Houston, Austin, Atlanta, Orlando. Followed the next week by
60 more, then 60 more...

( Check out our new snazzy Theater-finder:
           http://whatthebleep.com/showtimes/ )

WHERE ARE THESE PEOPLE COMING FROM?

We've been hearing about the religious right for decades. Is
there a Metaphysical Left? A spiritual, new-thought,
body/mind/spirit Left!? In our march we have picked up a
host of friends and fellow travelers and seekers. We have
learned of a multitude of organizations, churches,
therapies, healing modalities and study groups who have seen
our film and said "this is what we're all about, this is
what we study and teach".

People have come out of their Metaphysical Closets. Glorious
Kings and Queens, Dukes and Duchesses, Princes, Priestesses,
Healers, Teachers and Students. Resulting in sell-outs,
hold-overs and a puzzled entertainment industry.

OUR TIME IS NOW.

IF you are tired of the mindless dumbed-down drivel coming
out of the Entertainment Industry. (And by the way - that
includes the Media, "News", TV, etc...) And are tired of the
reactionary right garnering the cultural focus, setting
agendas, and preempting the concept of the Divine, well, its
Showtime!

Our march has been hugely successful because of word-of-
mouth. People telling others. Now we must execute that on a
national scale.

So please, if you are so inspired, please tell everyone
that we're coming to a theater near them. Phone, E-mail,
FAX, Dreamtime. (Yes everyone (that even includes
relatives!) because we have found you can never tell who's
going to resonate with the information.)

Get the word out, for by the end of September we will be
within 10 miles of over 90% of the population.

AND THEN?

Well, it's a grand experiment we're all involved in here.
The March has been a journey into Chaos, Uncertainty and the
Unknown. What will happen when 100 million monkeys start
thinking and living their lives in a different way? What
will Our World be like, when the wave breaks?

AND...

to all of you - thank you for joining us on this journey.

Re: What the $#@% Do We Know!?

thanks for posting! it's showing right down the street from me on Friday! sounds really cool - here's a short description -

a spiritual film that combines quantum physics, multi-dimensional visual effects and animation, a dramatic story and interviews with leading scientists and mystics . . .

Re: What the $#@% Do We Know!?

The trailer looks pretty good I just watched it.

Is it a documentary or story or both? The trailer shows some people with their conciousness flying through a wormhole? And walking through a force field?

Well I haven't seen it yet either, but from what I've been told it's a mixture of documentary and drama. The documentary aspect, I think, is made up of a series of interviews with several leading scientists and mystics. Or something like that. A friend of mine who lives in Arizona says it's extremely good and I think he's been to see it 2 or 3 times.

I'm just hoping they will release it on DVD this year, otherwise it could be a long time before I see it in the UK.

Re: What the $#@% Do We Know!?

I haven't heard of this movie before and after reading Ayahuasca's post, I checked it on imdb.com.

Wow, just nearly the same reactions/comments with What Dreams May Come or Patch Adams*. Nearly half of the commentators claim they study/have a degree on "this" or "that" subject in a university and say all of the things in the movie is misleading or wrong or etc. Now, I haven't watched the movie, but I've lived and experienced enough to recognize that behaviour.

In 1997, just in the middle of my PhD studies on phytotherapy & botany, I decided to leave the university. I had come to a crossroad in my life and gave two important decisions: "1. stay away from the university if you look for real knowledge" "2. stay away from all of religions and temples if you search for the creator". Yes, I practiced them both from that time on.  The result? Better than I ever expected. I would never think of the things I've found in this 7 years, especially last 8 months.

Anyway, while reading to these comments about the movie on imdb.com, once more I realized universities function as centers of programming and restriction. This may be suitable (and maybe necessary) for lots of people - but do not/never did work for me. One of the better films I've watched is Patch Adams and I never forget the expression on Robin Williams' face in the lesson scene at medical faculty. He exactly reflected feeling the pain/boredom of programming and restriction in the name of "academic knowledge" on his face.

I don't know if I'm too "far out" or not, but I simply see academic knowledge as airport transport bus or train. Ok, it may get you to some point, but you have to step out of it if you want to get on to a airplane - and go much further!

I know that we're on same wavelength with lots of people here on NR. I was in UK for some time last month** and came back to Istanbul now, realizing a lot of new things. Same thing here on NR, I see that some new names joined us with great new experiences and insights.

Ferit

* PS: Both Patch Adams and especially What Dreams May Come may have some misinformations and misleading knowledge, but this is not the issue. They are frontiers that showing us life may be different than we currently believe.

** PS II: You're right Ayahuasca, Leeds Castle is not in Leeds! smile By the way, I had the chance to do some research on crop circles there and realized some interesting info - most ufo sightings in Europe is seen in southern Britain!

Re: What the $#@% Do We Know!?

It's playing here now until next Wednesday at one Loews across town from me, my car is acting up, and I have to work tomorrow.  If I can get someone else rounded up we can take the rail transit straight to it up from a park & ride near my office.  Actually I'd like several people with me as the park & ride is in an area prone to muggings.  I am absolutely mad to see the movie.  If I miss it now I'll just wait for the DVD.  I've heard from one person who saw it when it first started and said it was awesome.  He wants to see it again.  As to the remarkable numbers of people flocking to the movie, I think it shows how badly many of us want to make sense of things.

Re: What the $#@% Do We Know!?

Could everyone that sees this movie please share their thoughts on it. I'd like to know what people here think of it.

I dying to see it too, but it's not coming to Europe until feb/march next year, although hopefully the dvd will be out before then.

Re: What the $#@% Do We Know!?

i just saw this movie.

it is pretty good, although i think many of you here will agree with me and my girlfriend when we said "well, this is stuff we already knew" - its things that spiritual people like us take for granted, things like other dimensions and how the universe isnt how we conceive our physical world to be.

its mostly based around Quantum Physics (which was kind of wierd, they should have thrown in some string theory and other things) and how Quantum Theory says the universe is doing all sorts of crazy stuff.

its like a documentary mixed with a story/movie... it makes for some conflicting scenes just .... some kind of clashing sometimes.

its good though, it has ALOT (its pretty long, i think almost a solid 2 hours) and it will help alot of 'sheeple' to wake up, while it reinforces the things weve been saying for years now.

Re: What the $#@% Do We Know!?

I find it disturbing to see that the movie is apparently sponsored (at least in part) by the Institute of Noetic Sciences which has, according to this article, an highly-negative agenda in regard to the New Age / NWO.

I found the link through this page: http://knowledgecenter.com/bleep/

Re: What the $#@% Do We Know!?

Well, they don't give any proof of a negative agenda that I can see. There is also a lot of Christian bias in that article, which should set alarm bells ringing. I know that the Noetic Institute is also related to Bob Monroe's Institute which has also been targeted with claims of it being a mind-control cover organization. I've yet to see evidence, REAL evidence not hearsay, of these claims. Go and take a look at the Noetic Sciences Institute's website, read through their material, and decide for yourself what role they have.

Proofs? Well, this is the kind of future this institute is preparing "for us":

Re: What the $#@% Do We Know!?

We saw this movie opening night with some other people.  Like zonabi, it wasn't anything we didn't already know.  The movie was alright, but certainly not mind blowing.   It didn't affect me in any way.  I didn't care for Marlee Matlin's character - too grumpy and negative for me.  Thought it was hokey in parts, and by the time it got to the Polish wedding scene, it seemed to become an entirely different movie altogether. wink   (insert 70's porn music here....boun chicka boun boun..)   But I can see how for regular mainstream people it might open up new perspectives, get them to snap out of their trance and look around at their reality and actually SEE it for once instead of just passing through it on autopilot, caught up in the illusion...

Read it and weep. Why? I find nothing so bad in the future that they lay out in that article. Is there some reason I should have a negative reaction to any of that?
