Topic: Candida

Hello,

Does anyone had a treatment that worked for Candida ?

Re: Candida

I had what I thought was a candida overgrowth a while back, but now I realise it was probably just weak digestion/toxic overload caused by years of poor nutrition. Anyway, whatever it was, I cured it by following a super-healthy, sugar-free diet and doing liver flushes followed by colonic irrigation. I actually think liver flushing is what helped me most. Read more about that here: http://curezone.com/cleanse/liver/default.asp

Re: Candida

Hi Adama,

The treatment I was using seemed to be working, but I had to stop doing it because, again, like with the parasite treatment, I was losing too much weight. I still have some candida but it's not as bad, and I was just told from a shamaness/seer Wise Womyn that I should just be taking the probitiocs for now as a control since I can't handle any more 'cleansing' supplements. What I was taking is called threelac. It's a bacteria that feed off of candida. You can find it at a few different websites. Just type in the name threelac into a search engine.  Also, you need to take some kind of beneficial gut flora  after a month or so of doing the threelac. Probiotics are better than acidophilus alone.  It will repopulate the good guys.

This is the place where I found mine. There are probably cheaper vendors, but I don't know. I didn't compare prices. But you can if you do the web search for threelac.

Also, there's a book called "The Body Ecology Diet" by Donna Gates that deals with how to tailor your diet if you have candida or some immune-deficient problem.  It's pretty expensive, but you can find it used for less.

Well, good luck! It sounds as though you have a lot to deal with. I wish you the best.

Re: Candida

I usually use a candida cleanse... the local preffered one here is "Wild Rose Candida Cleanse", only because I know the man whose formula it is.  strict diet... no sugars (just one peice of fruit a day) and no refined flours  or anything fermented... worked for me

there are many similiar on the market

good luck!

Re: Candida

Why nothing fermented?  A lot of fermented foods are full of great probiotics that would help fight the candida.

I've bought a product named Regulat and kombucha, but I don't know if it's enough...should I take some herbs or something else?

Re: Candida

I would say don't worry about taking additional herbs or a ton of supplements - just focus on eating well & improving your digestion. Eat small, healthy meals and CHEW each mouthful until it's liquid. That's so important for good digestion! Also consider the cleanses I told you about. When I was ill I followed Andreas Moritz's advice, he's at Curezone and has written a number of very helpful & informative books which you may want to check out.

Re: Candida

I think I'll try the advices on curezone. I'm currently working on parasites, had to do a bowel detox first (it really relieved me:).
Thanks for your advices folks;)

Those were just the reccomendations on the wild rose candida cleanse...
Not sure on the specifics but I followed them during the cleanse
and it worked well for me.

This is direct from their website:

This program has been very successful in combatting Candida (yeast) colonization. The program should be followed for 3-9 months, unless otherwise advised by a health practitioner. This program has to be adhered to more strictly than most, as “cheating” will only create a stronger strain of Candida in your body.

There are three basic components to the program:

1. Eliminating the foods Candida yeast live on. This is the most difficult, yet most important part.
2. Inhibiting Candida with specific vitamins and destroying them with homeopathic remedies.
3. Strengthening the body so that Candida will not return.

Food and Drinks to be avoided

· All flour products (for 1 - 2 months)
· All dairy products (for 1 - 2 months; butter is alright)
· Any flour product with yeast (entire length of the program)
· Any curded or fermented dairy (after 1 1/2 months,
   yogurt may be eaten)
· All yeast or yeast-containing foods
· No peanuts, grapes, oranges, mushrooms, tropical fruits
  or melons
· No wine, beer, or vinegar (including sauces with vinegar;
after 2 months vinegar can be resumed)
· No soy sauce, miso, tofu (after 1 1/2 months, these
  are acceptable)
· No sugar or sweetening agents of any type
· No dried fruit
· No tea (herbal teas, including green tea, are alright)
· Only one piece of fruit daily, two cups of coffee (max.),
two ounces of distilled alcohol (gin, vodka, scotch,
cognac, tequila) a week (if desired)

Good Foods

At first this might appear to leave very little to eat. Much of this feeling is due to cravings which you have had all along. On this program you can eat the following good foods:

· All the vegetables desired (except mushrooms)
· Meat (if desired; chicken and fish are best)
· Grains (flours of the grain are not acceptable, but the whole grains themselves are)
· Beans (not more than four times a week)
· Some fruit (apples, peaches, pears, plums, and berries; no more than the mass of an average sized apple daily)

Supplements

Homeopathic Candida 30X (5-10 drops, four times daily)
BEVCB6 (2 tablets, twice daily)
Digestive Enzymes (1-3 capsules with each meal)

After 1 1/2 months, add Acidophilus Plus (2 capsules, twice daily).

hope that helps
