Topic: Scientology

Scientology = way out of the matrix.

You will probably have heard a fair few rumours about Scientology.

I am someone who has held a fairly senior post in the Church of Scientology.

Feel free to ask me some questions if you are interested in my experiences and in understanding my point of view. Please don't post if you want to attack or post negative rubbish about Scientology - please start your own thread for that.

Re: Scientology

is there something specific you would like to share about your experiences and point of view ?

Re: Scientology

I'm not sure how long you have been with the organization or how far you have gone.  So my question may not be appropriate.

My main question is more to a personal level.  Has it ever seemed that scientology had a good grip on reality but still didn't quite hit the mark?  The reason I ask is because the underlining theme seems to follow many other core belief structures.  That of alien interference and such.  But the way unto which scientology names these things, and the stories presented, seem to be more metaphorical.  I've seen this a lot in metaphysical texts.  Since language falls well short of describing things, these manuscripts take a more metaphorical approach.  Kind of like the use of parables in the bible.

That is how I take scientology.  So I was wondering if those that are actually part of the organization took the stories as metaphorical or took them as is.

Starts with post #69 about half way down the page and goes on from there.

(for those who are new and weren't around way back when, when this was delved into by the same poster.)

And not to negate a new/updated discussion about scientology or its beliefs...I just happened to remember this being mentioned before is all...

Good question. No it seems to me that Scientology exactly hits the mark. Reading writings by LRH you usually get the feeling "That is so true - it explains many experiences I've had and if I'd only had this in mind then I would have dealt with it so much better."

The reason I ask is because the underlining theme seems to follow many other core belief structures.  That of alien interference and such.  But the way unto which scientology names these things, and the stories presented, seem to be more metaphorical.

There is no belief structure in Scientology. You don't believe anything LRH has written because he wrote it. You have to look and see if it's true. Auditing you try out and judge for yourself whether it works or not (it does). There's nothing metaphorical in Scientology. If something exists in the body of knowledge of Scientology it's there because it works. Scientology isn't an abstract philosophy, the whole point is to make things better using processes where you can see results. There are many processes that work that LRH found that were discarded because he found other processes that worked better.

That is how I take scientology.  So I was wondering if those that are actually part of the organization took the stories as metaphorical or took them as is.

Did I answer your question satisfactorily?

Re: Scientology

All religion is programming. I'm sorry but there it is. All you have is newer more elite programming.

Re: Scientology

belljar,

The ability to differentiate is important. You could just as easily say all spirituality is programming.

Re: Scientology

That's useful, but not key unless you are already in the optimum state and just want to avoid being reduced.
Otherwise you want to be able to differentiate between a path out, a path that leads deeper in, and a path that leads nowhere (or isn't really a path).

It,s just I can see the same thing occuring here.

I was in this "Church" myself.

I cannot enter a debate regarding others beliefs that may seem derogatory.

Also a post that is clearly a Q&A's with belief promotion a by-product and no other point of view welcome,no thanks but thanks for posting.

If this works for you then good luck.

PS:You could say, the ability to differentiate between the programing and the path of program avoidence is the important thing.

Re: Scientology

All religions have their place. Some are better than others in some respects and definitely work for some people. When people grow out of it they move to something better and it might not be religion.

Re: Scientology

Why is scientology hated?
Please, don't make promotion, just give the most sincere explanations about it...

Re: Scientology

It's not hated. The very few that do hate (who tend to make a loud noise) do so because it's precisely the opposite of what they stand for - improving our condition of existence.
