Re: OP or non-souled children
This is a really interesting thread that I'm enjoying reading because I've been trying to figure out the same type of thing because of current (and past) events within my own family.
My brother (who's 4 yrs older than me) began having "panic attacks" a few months ago, where he was unable to breath for no reason at all, at any time of the day or night (even while asleep). He's now, unfortunately, taking medication and has to see a shrink to manage it. I have my own thoughts on what's going on with him..... Before I get into lengthy examples, I should say that he told me that when he was 9 yrs old, one day while he and I were playing around with the piano/organ, he felt an invisible "hand" reach into his chest (around his heart chakra, I'm thinking) and (in his words) "pulled out my soul", leaving him feeling "empty" and "lonely". He said he never actually saw this thing, but felt certain that it somehow removed his soul, and he still believes that when he dies he doesn't have a soul to travel beyond this earth anymore.
He's only recently admitted that he had violent thoughts ever since he can remember, and there were quite a few things from his childhood to confirm that, too. When he was only 2yrs old, he took our dad's fishing line and made a very complex "booby-trap" in my grandmother's family room in a very short amount of time. It was laid-out so that the trigger was to have been when someone opened the door to the apartment, the closing of the door again would draw the line just taught enough so when anyone walked near the couch, they'd trip on the line, the floor lamp would land on top of them and pull a chair with it when it fell, and finally, turn on the television set. Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention, that he also tied the line to a large pair of scissors too, hoping to impale the victim somewhere along the way. He admits that he knew (even at that early an age) what he was doing. (btw, my mom and grandmother were out on the porch, knitting, at the time, in case you were wondering why no one was watching him. although, it only took him about 20 minutes to do the whole thing anyway)
When he started school, if another kid would tease him or pick on him, he wouldn't tell anyone about it, but later, when he was alone in his room, he would think of ways to "hurt" them. He'd fantisize about skinning them alive (and where to start first), disembowling them, flaying them, etc, etc. Thank god he never had the nerve to carry through with it.
When he was 9 and I was 5, we moved to a small town farther north of Chicago because my parents were worried about us going to school in the city with all the gangs coming in. My brother only got worse. He was horrid to me, as well. I, on the other hand, was always a happy, rolly-polly, kid. We were pretty much polar-opposites of each other. He would tease me (as all siblings do), but he had an "evil" streak and would delight in causing me physical harm whenever possible and then twist the story to my parents so that I was always somehow to blame and got punished. (like the time he burned my hand by focusing sun through a magnifying glass, holding me down and telling me to shut up because I was going to get us both in trouble with my pathetic crying, and I was the one who got in trouble in the end somehow)
When we first moved to the country, we had a "problem" with way too many chipmunks. They were digging their tunnels and sinking our patio and sidewalks, so my brother delighted in the opportunity to thin down their population. He was meticulous about keeping records. He would document the date, what kind of bait was used (in the rat traps), how long death took (if he could witness it), how many he killed each day, etc. But that wasn't enough for him. He wanted "souvenirs"... He took an old pot, a hot plate, and a razor blade..... He skinned the chipmunks and boiled the skulls.... He never seemed to be happy with the skulls because they weren't "perfect". He also wanted to reconstruct the entire skeleton, but we ran short of chipmunks.
He also liked to concoct chemical mixtures (that thank god he never killed anyone with). I later found whole jars of arsenic, that he'd made when he was a kid, when I was cleaning out the basement one time. I also found something (I cringe to speculate what it ever originally was) long dead and decaying, suspended in some kind of gelatenous blue-green fluid. It was like a freaky X-Files kind of thing! I doubt my parents were really ever fully aware of most of the things he got up to. He was extremely good at playing innocent and manipulating them.
Now, as adults, he feels a lot of remorse for certain things and really is trying to be a better person..... And it seems that that's when the panic attacks began to kick in.
I see all the ideas about bad parenting, toxins in the food/water, learned behavior, and such, and all are very good and valid points. But, from my experience, those are not the only factors. My brother and I have the same parents, were raised in the same house in the same way, grew up in the same community, went to the same schools, ate and drank the same stuff.... and we're spiritually diametrically opposed to one another. Granted, there's a lot of freaky, "paranormal" shit that surrounds the entire family and I'm positive that has been the major factor for the decision of who incarnated into the family, but I still think that kids can just be born with a soul that is negatively aligned with the spiritual world.
Sorry for this monsterously long post.... but I thought I'd toss my two cents of experience in.
[Edit]: One last thing I forgot to mention is that it seems that many "serial killers" have above average intelligence and many times come from perfectly normal, loving families. Interestingly, as well, they often times have an extra "X" chromosome, known as Klinefelter's Syndrome. I'm just mentioning that to show that some "evil souls" aren't always a result of poor intelligence or lack of a loving environment. I'm pretty darn sure that no one in my family has an extra chromosome, though! ![]()
