The movie "Volcano"

I was watching the Fox channel nad happened to see the movie Volcano again and afterwards all I could think of was 911 and Katrina.  With the lava about to go through homes the person in charge (Tommy Lee Jones) decides that they should demolish a huge building to make the lava go into a man made canel that leads to the Pacific Ocean.  Now it hit me this wa the total opposite of Katrina...somehow the levee broke and the water went through a man made canel all the way to New Orleans to flood the whole city so in the movie they are trying to save the city and in real life in New Orleans they are trying to destroy it.  And of course the demolition of the huge apartment complex that needed to be sacraficed to save the city..911....just had me think
