Re: Dreams

I had a series of semi-lucid dreams a few days ago where I was "conjuring up" music and hearing it play in my mind. At first it was big band jazz from the 30's, then it was bluegrass banjo music, then it switched to chilled out electronic music, then it became boring techno. The more I tried to use my mind to tell the music what to do, the worse it began to sound. It sounded best when I just had fun and let it do what it wanted to.

When I woke up and remembered all the good music I'd "conducted" in my sleep, I thought "Wow, I wish I could write music like that!" Then I realized I had written it, kind of. I had somehow tapped into the subconscious source of music during my sleep. None of it was anything I'd ever heard before. I hope I can do it again.

This may have happened because I took a sublingual B12 tablet before I went to sleep. If anybody wants to try an experiment, put a 500mcg B12 tablet under your tongue before you go to sleep and see what happens to your dreams!

Oh, I like dream experiments!

The sublingual B12 (methylcobalamin) I have is 1000 mcg though... the more the merrier?

The only thing is I take a sublingual melatonin (3 mg) before I go to bed every night.... without fail, so who knows how that might affect the outcome.

Looks like I'll be having a supplements cocktail before sleep tonight smile .

Re: Dreams

I had to share this dream my son had a few nights ago.  He literally woke up laughing.  I asked him why he was laughing and he explained his dream.  He said that there was me and a standing alligator at a bus stop.  The alligator told him to hit me with yellow balls.  He said he did and we were playing catch.  Then my son decided to "trick" either me or the alligator (he had two versions about who he was tricking) and he threw one at the alligator.  He said he knocked the alligator down!  That was when he started laughing and woke up.  I tried to ask him about the "balls" and if they looked like light.  He said yes, but at that point I was suggesting.   Everything else is his own words, and I don't think I have mentioned Lizzies to him yet.  My son: the Alligator Warrior!  big_smile

Never Give Up!

Re: Dreams

Wow! that . . . 's . . wow!

If you look at it like it really happened, it would seem the alligator was testing your son. Telling him to do that and then standing right next to you. Maybe someone wanted to see how far from the 'plan' he would deviate?

Sorry if that sounds weird. No offense.

I am as is Void.

The whole dream just goes to prove something I've thought for a very long time, that the "Alligators" are not impervious to their own tech.

Good to know, wouldn't you say? wink

Okay, so I've been doing this the past three nights. I have only sparsely remembered having any dreams for months now, but, surprise-surprise!, I have had them the past three nights.

The first one was interesting because I was having a dream with myself as I was a little girl. We were standing in a field of white daisies, just being peaceful and smiling. It was short and very sweet.

The second night's dream was very good in that it was about a broken friendship lost about five or six years ago. I've a few times tried calling to mend fences with this person, but she wasn't "there" yet. In the dream I was very lucid and purposefully facilitated an energy healing, an understanding between the two of us was arrived to... I hope this translates into both of our consciousnesses. That'll be good enough for me.... sheesh, I didn't realize I was still carrying this around.

And for all my being Ms. Lucidity, I can't really remember what last night's dream was, but when I try to remember I'm reminded of the most awesome astral trip I ever had.

And although I'll have to continue with taking the B12 like this for awhile, and then not take it for awhile to prove it to myself, I think I'm actually sleeping a better quality sleep, and a greater quantity sleep. I've actually gotten in seven hrs. in a row two of the three nights, this is very unusual for me.... it's usually only three or four asleep, up for one to two, then back to sleep for two or three hrs. Ha! And I think the only reason I woke up early the one night was because I had.... erm, cramps roll. S'hard to sleep through that kwap wink .

Anyway, just wanted to report back to you... and thanks czyx, thank you many times over for the suggestion. I think this is going to help me get that more quality and quantity sleep I've been looking for. The dreaming will just be the icing on the cake wink .

Re: Dreams

Think I'll try the B12 myself, thanx czyx!

Opium is supposed to be good too.  Here's a poem that came to the poet in an opium dream:

Oh jesus, Jen! I had coffee in my freaking mouth when I read this... what a mess! I choked on my coffee for spontaneously guffawing, and it went flying all over my desk and monitor! LMAO! What a flippin' mess.

With that aside, opiates were not one of those drugs I've ever used much as perscribed, or even abused when I was younger. Most of the opiates, like pain pills for toothaches or what have you, make my skin crawl and make me feel sick to my stomach... bleck, don't like em.

But two weekends ago I was in major pain for having irritated a past injury. One of my manimal's (as he'd now like to be called lol ) friends was over and emptied his pocket, and there was a bottle of Oxycodon he had. Even given I don't like to take opiates I asked him for one, just because I was very uncomfortable. I took it before I went to sleep so I would sleep better.

Well, don't you know, that was one bizarro night's sleep... weird, weird, weird. I was flying around all sideways and goofy... I was "tripping" throughout the whole night. For me? I didn't like it... I wasn't in control of my faculties... but I also didn't have a clue that so much could happen.

EDIT--

Oh yeah, just in case you don't know: make sure you get the sublingual "methylcobalamin" type of B12 when you do buy it. There's a spray also. I was told by a nutrionalist that this is the best for one to take. I think it's supposed to be absorbed better than the other type.... which I don't know the name of right off the top of my head, but it starts with a "c".

Me neither.  Don't even take an aspirin when I have a headache!

if it happens again, you might want to try MSM--it has a reputation as a natural painkiller, and has many other health benefits.

Re: Dreams

I'm so glad the B12 is doing good things for you, Auendove! smile

I just came across something interesting: according to this article, if you wake up an hour early, stay awake for an hour, then take a morning nap, you are more likely to have a lucid dream during that nap. It is interesting because the musical dream I had occurred in the morning after I was awoken by my dog. The dog didn't interrupt my sleeping for an hour, but it was long enough that I was completely awake and unsettled. Strange how these circumstances came together!

I have not tried opium, but I did try morphine for the first time a few months ago. Falling asleep was not pleasant. I felt as though I was dying. Rather than fading out naturally, my consciousness was being smothered against its will. I knew in my mind that it wasn't dangerous to just give in, but I still resented what the drug was doing to me. So instead of falling into the abyss, I fought the effects and went into a light "guarded" sleep.

Heh--I think that's the kind I've got: one of the ingredients is Cyanocobalamin.

I didn't take the time to read the article yet, but this I can attest to with assuridity! Almost all of my dreams in the past 10 yrs. have happened during that morning nap time. No doubt.

Cyanocobalamin... yes, that's it. I thought it was a cyano- something or the other. B12 is a very important supplement for me to take. I used to get B12 shots once a week for CFS, that's why I know about the methyl- type. Maybe your body doesn't need the type you don't have, but it ain't gonna hurt ya the next time you buy up to get the methyl- type... it's only just a little bit more in cost. Not too much I think.

Ah! Twilight sleep.... bleck again! A couple of weeks ago I had the "gaurded" twilight sleep every night for almost two weeks. It was horrible. Shudder sad .

any other poetry?  yup, lots.  thanks for your interest!
I  posted that one cause it relates to the subject of dreams.

I'm putting together a collection, may be putting them online, will let you
know.  thanks again.  for now, a quote from another poet:

"We are such stuff as dreams are made on, and our little life is rounded with a sleep."

Re: Dreams

ive been having some crazy dreams,

heres last nights episode

it was great! i had some kind of rocket jet pack that was also a form of a shield, it hooked on to your forearm (like a SWAT team shield, but smaller and slim) and i was flying around with that thing and people were amazed (i felt cool too)

after that my dream sort of shifted and now it seemed like tunnels and dark (like metroid game structure) but it still had houses/rooms, and lots of people were around. my goal was to propel myself in the rooms (i no longer had my jetpack, but i had "spidey ability" (like spiderman, able to throw a string out and swing from it) and i had to swing into these rooms are high velocity in order to swoop by the "masses" of people unnoticed.

man that was fun!
