Hahaha, 'denial theorists.'
What if we call them 'conspiracy deniers'...?
This global warming thing is one of the biggest factors in my recent depression and loss of any hope for this civilization. The way people just believe it. They don't know the science, but someone on TV does. And that's good enough.
I remember when I was a kid in the 80's my parents showed me this PBS film about global warming. It's like they were doing some assignment to program me. It didn't work on me (I'm blessed with the ability to perceive things on a wider angle), but it worked overall. There were enough people raised up on global warming that when they mobilized this thing in full-force there was plenty of support.
Talking to people about global warming is an excellent demonstration of how clueless and unthinking most people are. I point out that global warming is taking up so much real estate in people's awareness, that it distracts from other issues like THE OCEANS ARE DYING and the rainforests are DISSAPEARING. They invariably say, "maybe that's true, but at least people are thinking about the environment!"
Same thing with biofuel. I point out the vary obvious fact that biofuel is made by FARMING on a massive scale, and it takes ENERGY to farm which comes from OIL. So not only are you still consuming oil, but you're wrecking a bunch of land and water in the process. "Well, it's a step in the right direction" they say. No, it is NOT a step in the right direction. It's a step in the WRONG direction.
Then there's water consumption. We're told to take shorter showers and flush the toilet less, meanwhile it takes 600 gallons of water to make ONE POUND of beef. And that beef is subsidized! We're paying for it weather we eat beef or not.
God it's awful. What do we do? How can we get through the layers of idiocy? I think I give up. People aren't going to change, unless the leadership falls. The leadership has its armies, its secret cities, all the money, all the power, all the control. It feels too late.
