Topic: The great global warming swindle.

I was surprised to see this documentary on channel 4 last night, it really exposes not only the junk science behind this but also the political motivations on a mainstream terrestrial tv station.

Hopefully someone will put in on youtube or similar but here's a site about the program.

I think the saying goes if a politican is behind something you better look it over again. The earth is a toxic place no doubt both physically and spiritually but there is also a whole universe out there that is effecting it.

I see part of the global warming C02 scam as keeping the world as toxic as possible, its a great pardon the pun smokescreen to cover up for the real polluters as long as they can demonise C02, the attention is away from what they doing to our planet in the name of profit and greed.

Re: The great global warming swindle.

It seems if we could eliminate things like greed, laziness, selfishness, and excess, the planet would be a much cleaner.

Somehow the planet needs this cycle. Unfortunately, it will be a pain for some.

The first thing to solving problems is to quit blaming others and do your part to find solutions.

This is true for global warming (if you believe in it). Don't buy products from huge corporate polluters. Don't support greed, don't support laziness, don't live in excess, etc. Lead by example.

Plant a tree or three. Pick up garbage in your local greenspaces. Recycle. Ride a bike to work. Educate.

Promoting a healthy lifestyle promotes a healthy environment.

Common sense.

The "real polluters" are each and every one of us. We must ALL do our share to contibute to solutions rather than point the finger. Even if we are doing something is better than nothing. Even then, we can always do more.

J dub--very nice sentiments, but I'm afraid your efforts and those of the
other few people who try to live like that are just a chalk mark in a
rainstorm.  I agree with everything you said, but it isn't going to change
the lizards from profiting from people's excesses.  You and people like us
just need to move away from here.  Let the rest of humanity choke on
its own filth.  Somewhere off planet would be a good start.

Re: The great global warming swindle.

Oh, and by the way, if Global Warming ends up causing a new Ice Age
a la "Day after Tomorrow" then all the politicians and their cronies and
their families can go into the underground cities that they have prepared
for such an eventuality.  And we can fend for ourselves.

Sorry for the smartass remarks, J-Dub, but I couldn't resist.

Re: The great global warming swindle.

I watched that. Having seen 'An Inconvenient Truth' it was fascinating to hear how some of the graph information presented by Gore omitted a crucial factor, which when highlighted, blew the theory apart.

The following night, the news headlines were dominated by waffle regarding the battle against greenhouse gas emissions and I was struck by the fact that the compelling counter perspective offered in that documentary failed to get a mention.

Re: The great global warming swindle.

Very good documentary. I was surprised.

I recommend it to everyone, most specefically to those who feel concerned about Global Warming.

On cannot watch this movie and keep repeating that 'Greenhouse Gaz Cause Global Warming'.

I know that many christian fundamentalists believe that the EU's president is the antichrist and that they use Environmentalist discourse and Global Warming as scare tactic to impose their own agenda. In fact the West and the UE want to impose global warming laws to suppress the economic rise and development of States in the Middle East, in the East and the third world. China wil never let the West repress their economic development invoquing environmental reasons. This will certainly be one element in the clash coming up between America-EU Versus the East. Many Christian fundamentalists believe that Russia and China and Iran will attack Israel and the West, with antichrist as president of the EU.

So, this documentary can be made to nourish the fundamentalists and conspiracy theorists' fears of environmental issues as being controled by the government of antichrist (such fundamentalists also look at the UN as the Harlot of Babylon, and we can see that the UN is filled with environmental and new age feminist groups. This is clearly meant as a provocation ni the face of fundamentalist christians...

my two cents.

Re: The great global warming swindle.

Political parties in the UK are going into overdrive over their new love of Al Gore as a green spokesman even though his drivel has been debunked and trying to outdo each other on who can tax us most for our "carbon footprint" while they all ignore the real polluters who have have made this planet toxic and can have a good laugh at the distraction of blaming C02.

I can see why so so many got out of the green movement years ago when they could see who was taking it over and  they were proved right it seems.
Even a spokesman from the Royal Society (those bastions of making junk science official for the TPTB) recently had to admit that there were other factors involved in global warming apart from C02 as their position was becoming untenable and even embarrassing due the weight of scientific evidence to the contrary.

Re: The great global warming swindle.

"Global warming" did a number on the trees down here in Phoenix this past winter with a number of hard freezes. Dead ficus trees all over the place.

Re: The great global warming swindle.

Headline today from msnbc "global warming deniers gain funds"
-Story from newsweek:

Maybe we could just lump the conspiracy theorists in with the deniers of this or that, and call them "denial theorists".
A Supercategory for anyone who questions anything.

That's it, decision's been made for you, back to sleep, don't worry about any carbon tax, just pay it.

And again, no mention of the Sun as a possible cause, But I forgot didn't I, the Sun revolves around Earth, so that couldn't be a viable theory.......              J

Re: The great global warming swindle.

Hahaha, 'denial theorists.'

What if we call them 'conspiracy deniers'...?

This global warming thing is one of the biggest factors in my recent depression and loss of any hope for this civilization. The way people just believe it. They don't know the science, but someone on TV does. And that's good enough.

I remember when I was a kid in the 80's my parents showed me this PBS film about global warming. It's like they were doing some assignment to program me. It didn't work on me (I'm blessed with the ability to perceive things on a wider angle), but it worked overall. There were enough people raised up on global warming that when they mobilized this thing in full-force there was plenty of support.

Talking to people about global warming is an excellent demonstration of how clueless and unthinking most people are. I point out that global warming is taking up so much real estate in people's awareness, that it distracts from other issues like THE OCEANS ARE DYING and the rainforests are DISSAPEARING. They invariably say, "maybe that's true, but at least people are thinking about the environment!"

Same thing with biofuel. I point out the vary obvious fact that biofuel is made by FARMING on a massive scale, and it takes ENERGY to farm which comes from OIL. So not only are you still consuming oil, but you're wrecking a bunch of land and water in the process. "Well, it's a step in the right direction" they say. No, it is NOT a step in the right direction. It's a step in the WRONG direction.

Then there's water consumption. We're told to take shorter showers and flush the toilet less, meanwhile it takes 600 gallons of water to make ONE POUND of beef. And that beef is subsidized! We're paying for it weather we eat beef or not.

God it's awful. What do we do? How can we get through the layers of idiocy? I think I give up. People aren't going to change, unless the leadership falls. The leadership has its armies, its secret cities, all the money, all the power, all the control. It feels too late.

I believe that the oceans dying and the rainforests disappearing and global warming are all parts of the same problem.  Earth and everything on it is an isolated biodome, and one thing has an effect on the other... the deforestation (among other things) has an effect on our atmospheric gas composition and the food chain, which has a direct effect on the ocean life disappearing (not to mention all the toxic junk that's poured into and buried under oceans every day), and if the earth can't "breath" and more than half of the life on this planet dies (ocean life), I'd say there's a global problem.  For whatever reason, if you believe in global warming or don't, the glaciers have been and are currently disappearing at an alarming rate.  Once enough of the glaciers melt, they desalinate the ocean water which, in a few years will slow down and eventually stop the ocean belt.  When that happens (and as it happens) very unpredictable and extreme weather conditions develop... gee, anyone notice any of that going on lately? And all of that results in less and less ocean life... It's all one big cyclical domino effect... and unfortunately, the first domino was tipped before most of us were probably born.

What I've got a huge problem with is how everyone wants to find out who's lying and who's smarter and who should be blamed.  Fact is, irregardless of what virtually anyone does at this time, we're still headed towards much worse situations very soon, and no one seems to want to discuss "what then?" or (more importantly) how can we prepare to prevent as much damage to all life as we can?

My comments aren't really directed towards you, Mencius, nor anyone one else who's posted on this thread.  I guess everyone's got an opinion on this topic, and I'm just adding my own.

Re: The great global warming swindle.

I don't know Pinky, I just wish people would take more factors into consideration. Of course humans have had a negative impact, but what about solar cycles, human weather manipulation (which can be used to mimic just about any real weather phenomena) and even 4D influence.

Whenever someone offers an instant explanation for a very broad issue, I am extremely skeptical. Just like 2 days after 9-11, Bin Laden did it. That's all ya need to know.
