What a beautiful looking place! It's a shame these sorts of images aren't the ones that are shown on CNN and the like.
If we were to have awareness that TPTB are for sure, definitely going to attack Iran under the guise of some manipulated whatever, can we, as the general public, do anything to stop this?
I didn't just post this to get people all riled up. I found the link at Rense.com, one of the biggest sites out there for getting people riled up over shit they can do nothing about, but I genuinely wonder about what we can do.
For starters, it helps for as many people as possible to see the faces and the locale of the intended target. To humanize the situation. While the average person on the street doesn't condone killing people and just wants to live their life in peace like everybody else, let's face it - they're still usually pretty detached from everything. It's easy to block it out, turn away, and just apathetically stand by while the government invades yet another country, killing tens of thousands of more innocent people, all to further an agenda of TPTB.
Back in early 2003 when it became clear that the U.S. was going to invade Iraq, I created a series of fliers - hundreds of them - all different styles and designs, getting the message out there that what this country was doing was wrong, and it was based on lies and manipulation. I used satire images I found on the conspiracy sites which made fun of Bush and his Cabinet, had links to websites that were organizing protest marches, and just overall got the message out there that this was all wrong. It wasn't going to stop anything, I knew that. I wasn't one of those emotionally crazy "activists" who gets carried away with unrealistic expectations. But I knew that at least it was *something.* It was my small effort to spread awareness around Fort Liqueurdale, Florida, party central, where everybody only cares about going to the beach, getting a tan, drinking and partying, and gathering up as much $$$ as possible in order to have that sports car and nice yacht. I've talked about my venture into anti-Iraq War fliers before on NR, so I'll only mention it briefly here. But it was a way to spread awareness, because back then, most EVERYBODY it seemed was buying into the Iraq War. !!!! Unbelievable. Stupidity and ignorance, getting swept up in what the rest of the herd says and believes. Seeds needed to be planted to get people to at least question what they've been told, to see another viewpoint they were most likely not hearing out there in the mainstream world. People didn't care back then about Iraq or any of it. They only cared about themselves.
Four years on, things have changed. Thousands of U.S. service people have died. People's sons and daughters, nieces and nephews, husbands, wives, neighbors, aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters, classmates and friends. People finally are being forced to face the music about tha nature of war after decades of relative ease. (Gulf War I doesn't really count; you have to go back to Vietnam.) While they still may have no regard for what's been done to the Iraqi people, at least people are starting to wake from that fog of apathetic ambivalence. When people you personally know have died, then you can't look the other way anymore. It's hit home. Now it's in your backyard.
Prior to the Iraq invasion on March 20, 2003 and throughout the past four years there have been protest marches around the country and of course, bezillions of websites, articles and books that have talked negatively about the Iraq situation, trying to wake people up about TPTB. I'd like to think they've at least made a dent. I'm *hoping* that all this effort will have made it so that TPTB will have a MUCH harder time trying to justify an invasion of Iran. So many lies have been exposed by this point, people are questioning things now, people have doubt. Now people know. "Ahh. Yes. Middle Eastern country invasion = oil = pointless deaths on all sides to serve crusty rich white guys." Versus whatever manipulated lies TPTB will feed us about "weaopns of mass destruction" and all the rest.
Anyway, this thread is about thinking ahead to whatever may be coming up down the pike, and putting the word out to make more of an effort to spread awareness in whatever ways we can manage. Everybody doing their part, someway, somehow.
Also check this collection of pictures of Tehran out...
To be honest, at its best, it looks better than what many of the cities I've visited has to offer.
Lyra, thank you very much for posting this link as well as expounding on your reasons why to post.
I have forwarded this link to most everyone in my address book, asking that they do the same.
Lyra is so right -- AWARENESS/wakefulness CAN make a difference. In a positive way, rather than the rah rah upset the living p*** out of everyone way -- the negative way simply plays directly into TPTB.
Spread the word - use the link ... thanks Lyra.

I want to move to Iran now.
It does look like a beautiful city. I found this link that has links to the impending Iran situation:

There's been talk on the 'net within the conspiracy circles about an attack on Iran now since way back to 2004 at least, but I think even 2003 though, back when the US was first going after Iraq. I remember saying back then that for the U.S. (or the U.S./Israel) to go after Iran would be a reeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaally bad idea. Iranians are badasses, they're not going to just lie down and let countries like the US or Israel steamroll over in there with their little oil agenda. Sorry. One of the links in the above link mentions that Iran would retaliate in a nuclear way. The whole thing would just be really nasty. It's not going to just be "Iraq 2." Baghdad may have been developed and modern, but Tehran/Iran is even more so. And many in the West are completely ignorant to this. They probably have very inaccurate images of what Iran is all about. Marcus even mentioned: "It's a shame these sorts of images aren't the ones that are shown on CNN and the like."
That's very scary. I don't watch TV, so I don't know what sorts of images they are in fact showing, but I can guarantee that it's probably VERY unbalanced. God I hate the western media. So manipulative. I don't blame the people for not knowing any better when all they've been shown is manipulated and unbalanced half truths. I just despise the media itself.
I have forwarded it onto everyone I know. It is something that people should see.
Lyra -- Thanks for posting this. I've sent this link out to my own e-mail list and asked others to do the same.

Ahhhh, western media=government controlled, they only air what THEY want you to see. I don't watch television much either, except for the Animal Planet. There are many beautiful cities in the Arab world, and I happen to have a best friend who lives in Dubai, UAE, very beautiful city.
That's cool guys, thanks for taking the time to pass it along.
I just keep thinking back to early 2003, and the way this country just sat there and let Iraq happen. So if this country has any sort of scheme of its sleeves to go after more middle eastern countries, (which there's ever increasing talk about as the months go by) I don't want to see that happen again. I did a slightly expanded write up about it for my website as well.

So far it's had one hit.
Exactly one, no lie. People aren't interested in reading about Iran I guess. Meanwhile, my "mind control symbolisms and programming triggers in movies" section keeps getting massive amounts of hits and passed around the net like wildfire. Kind of pathetic. Several days ago I got pissed at how much focus that section was getting, passed around and around the 'net and posted all over the place on various websites and stuff, (my site got several thousand hits last week from that one piece alone) and so I posted this finger shaking, hands on the hips pissed off bitch rant at the beginning of the piece yelling at everybody for their obsession with movies, and almost deleted the entire movies section completely. I let the bitch rant be up there for 24 hours, then took it back down. Figured I'd yelled at everybody, that was enough. But out of everything I've written, that's pretty much the only section anybody cares about on my site. So, I imagine "Iran" won't get many hits at all, BUT, it's still going up.

Like you, I no longer see any of this stuff on TV (I have no broadcast receiving equipment - no aerial or cable etc). But from what I have seen on other people's TVs and from what I remember from the media - Iran / Tehran was portrayed very differently. I did a quick Internet search and the following images are pretty typical of what I remember seeing of that area of the world...

It all gives a very different impression of the country doesn't it.
Nice work Lyra....as usual
