Re: Fringe Knowledge for Beginners - book by Montalk

I would like to add my congrats for a job well done... both the writing and SAVING of the book.  smile

I love the designation "fringe knowledge" too, by the way.  It is perfect!

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great and would suffice.  ~Robert Frost

Re: Fringe Knowledge for Beginners - book by Montalk

Once again... thank you! I was having trouble with telling the difference between positive and negative synchronicities as well as the difference between internal and external assistance and resistance. Your book helped me better see the signs of manipulation and the signs of assistance. Awesome book!

Yeah, I really enjoy the simple and direct style. Nicely done!

Tom,

Thank you for a tremendous book, especially the metaphors which are crystal clear and very relevant.

I have been sending it to many of my friends, especially those on the fringe of alternative understandings, precisely those for whom it was designed.

I look forward to your next book in late 2007; should you require help proofing or in any other way to ensure it comes to fruition, please let me know.

Sheila

Re: Fringe Knowledge for Beginners - book by Montalk

Hey Feritciva, one thing I did not wish to elaborate on in this particular book is the idea of theocratic enslavement after death. I mention this because you mentioned War in Heaven on your other new thread. What I did say, however, is that after death the soul eventually returns to where it originally came from. But how "long" that takes could vary greatly.

I now believe that people are as free in the afterlife as they are in the physical life, meaning that if while living they were slaves to highly material, ignorantly religious, or primitive forces, then after death their slavery would continue until their astral shells eventually dried up from all the draining and died that so-called "second death." It would also mean, however, that the more free you become in this life, the more free you will be afterwards. So although the situation could be ... weird or potentially depressing ... overall, hopefully there is more logic and reason to it than the possibility that no matter how aware you are you'll just be enslaved anyway after death. Maybe there is direct correlation between your spiritual awareness now, and it after. I mean, the Toltec idea of recapitulation ties into this, as does the Robert Monroe material about the lower astral planes and "belief system territories" in which are stuck only those who don't know better.

Anyway...wanted to bring this up just in case that crossed anyone's mind while reading.

Sheila, glad you enjoyed it! Yeah the next book should leave no important stone unturned if I can help it...

Fantastic work, Montalk. A perfect introduction to fringe knowledge.

Re: Fringe Knowledge for Beginners - book by Montalk

I was reading this now, nice work/bravo. I found what looks like a typo, pg 75, "Alien Deception" Paragraph 1, Sentence 3: "and our ability to *product* copious amounts of soul energy are very attractive to them." Another that read weird to me was pg 104 section "Negative External Encouragement" Paragraph 1, sentence 2: "They are spiritual hooks cast into this world by the Control System to reel in the weak *and.*"

Oh and I like the section on lifelines. It's bugging me because I can't remember specifically. Once upon a time I found a good one but I don't know where I found it. I did some search and found this lifeline reference in your research notes. That might have even been it, but I can't remember:

If this idea appeals to you, try creating your own lifeline to call upon when necessary. The one I use employs a hermetic axiom stating that vibrations can be changed in degrees. So starting with the most negative of positive emotions, sorrow, I raise myself degree by degree. For illustrative purposes, here is one that works for me:

Sorrow for the wounded,
Compassion for the wounded.
Understanding of the ignorant,
Acceptance of the ignorant.
To know that everything has been in its right place,
Is in its right place, and will continue to be in its right place.
That’s why I have comfort in the past,
Gratitude in the present, and hope for the future.
I thank the Universe for this opportunity
To live and shine my light,
To guide and be guided,
To love and be loved.

Here, each line is pondered in its full meaning before going to the next. That is important, as the mechanical serves only as a template for your emotional, intellectual, and spiritual to follow. Just mumbling the words without thought does nothing.

Anyways, it seems like a handy device to me, but of course more often than not it seems like when I need it, I'm focused anywhere but towards this sort of a thing.

Re: Fringe Knowledge for Beginners - book by Montalk

Thanks for spotting those, they've been fixed in the latest version. Nothing content-wise has changed, just those typos and one or two more. Anyone who has the PDF, just replace it with the freshest one: http://montalk.net/book

About lifelines, dreamosis had a thread going about those here: http://forum.noblerealms.org/viewtopic.php?id=2529

This morning I found that instead of going from emotionally "flat" to "positive" it was easier to go from "flat" to "negative" to "positive" with the negative being the idea of sorrow, which I think is the most negative of soul/heart based emotions. It's like crouching down before jumping instead of jumping from standing. So I went back to that lifeline because nothing else was working. Not sure if it's me or just the times, but reality seems to be getting increasingly responsive to states of mind...either positive or negative depending on the attitude. If I slack for too long, things start degrading, so I pick up the pace again... then when things are good I enter forgetfulness and start slacking, which causes things to fall once more before I snap out of it and rise back up. Like flying and forgetting to flap once you finally get off the ground...arghhh.

Re: Fringe Knowledge for Beginners - book by Montalk

Those lifelines are great. I'm finding it a little hard to fly these days, but nothing really in my external world is dragging me down. It seems to be on the inside. When I'm put to the test, I perform, yet I do not trust myself entirely, nor do I trust others completely. For so much has happened in the past, it helps alot to live in the future, when the higher self shall meld with the body, and for the cure of all pain to be found.
