'unusual' weather (Page 1 of 5)

I hear ya oceanroar.  I am about 5 minutes from the border where you reside here in Washington state.  We just had another crazy windstorm and hail and massive rains.  What you have experienced so have we and we are nestled in a small valley, surrounded by mountains on all sides but the south.  It has been interesting and yes, there have been odd energies before and after these storms.  Some of it is simply negative ionization of the air that you may be feeling more as your perception centers are opening.  This is much lighter and does not carry the heavy weight that comes with the unsettled stuff.

Other things exist there too for I have felt more negative forms as well...you know they take on quite a gravity of their own...a heaviness.  Go with your gut and continue to pay attention.

I learned this morning that whenever there are big storms in the Northwest, it gets warmer down here.  So we'll be having a rapid warm-up this post-Christmas week until the fronts move in.  It's been quite warm here this year.

^^^^^  Definitely seems true. Here in Charlottesville we had a record heat day about two weeks ago, broke the record set back in like, 1982 or something.  The day after that, Charleston, SC I believe it was also had a record heat day.

Meanwhile, in Denver they're preparing for what may turn out to be the second blizzard in less than two weeks.

Down south they were whomped with massive rains.

Also, there were spots all over world experiencing unusually thick fog, from China to the UK to the United States, to the point where flights had to be cancelled.

Oh...and I found an article a week ago that's reporting that  bears in Europe are no longer hibernating.  THAT is a big one. 

And to think that there are people out there in the world who still argue that nothing is amiss, climate-wise.......!!

It's been unseasonably warm here in central Wisconsin as well.  We finally got some snow just days before Xmas. 

Driving back home on Xmas day I could see the northern lights hovering over the city where I live as I was driving in.  It was kind of errie.  I probably didn't even need my headlights on it was so bright!  It's been that way today as well.  It's almost like there is something under the city here drawing all the charged particles above us to this locale.  Hmmmm

Texas isn't what it was like 25 or 30 years ago.  We used to get a little of snow each year, just a little.  The other day I picked up a photo book, the kind that's made for leaving on the coffee table, while waiting in a doctor's office.  It was a picture book of the United States.  In the Texas section, there were pages of my area, the eastern portion bordering Louisiana.  In one photo showing our winters, there was a deer standing in a forest of snow.  There was a lot of snow on the ground.  It was a typical winter storm for us, the caption said.

The book was published in the 70's.  The older people remember the way it used to be, but I'm too young to have seen snowy winters.

Pacific Northwest Forecast:  Dramatic change

- Mt. Hood glaciers melting - volcanic matter that had been locked up in the glaciers released where it tumbled down the mountain and covered a road;
- Willamette Valley vineyards having to move north into Washington because weather has gotten too hot
- Record rainfall this past November for both Portland and Seattle, likened to a "deluge."  The most rainfall Portland's had since 1938, the most Seattle has had in 115 years.

Tom reports that his grandma in Germany says it's as warm as spring there right now.  They really don't get snow anymore.

Right now as I type this it's January 1st in Virginia and as warm as spring.  You can be outside without a jacket or sweater.   It's rained for the past day or two, and so with the wet ground and sunlight and water dripping from the trees and warm weather it feels like "spring thaw" or something.   But it's not!

We never even got a fall, forget winter.  The past couple of weeks we did get tornado type winds of 80 mph.  It was scary and it was only in my area...every time.

Yesterday, I began seeing birdies checking out places to nest atop the many chimes hanging in my patio.  They were looking for their condos in pairs and they were chatting and chirping as if it were spring.
