I'm currently living in Charlottesville, Virginia, and our local metaphysical newspaper called "Echo" ran an article for this month's issue about Charlottesville and its amazing energy and how it's considered a sacred site. There are multiple articles written by various people in this issue about how they came to live in Cville, and their personal impressions of how it feels. And everybody is saying what I was saying when we first arrived here..............it just feels good here, amazingly "light" and positive. But very very light. It's the nicest area I've ever experienced in all my travels and the places I've lived. The only other place that I've been to here in the U.S. that felt this good was when I was sitting 10,000 feet up at the top of Sandia Mountain, in New Mexico.
It felt so fantastic up there that I never wanted to come back down. And back then I wasn't in tune with my psychic 6th sense, so it wasn't like I was looking for it or anything. But there was no denying how good it felt on the top of Sandia.
Charlottesville is apparently considered sacred due to ley lines that run through the area and natural energy vortices all over the place. It's why Thomas Jefferson put up the big dome rotunda on the college campus he founded (the University of Virginia). He knew exactly what he was doing, as many psychics in the know have pinpointed UVA as having something like three energy vortices on campus.
This whole area is something else. I can't imagine living anywhere else now. I'm only here because Tom had once passed through the area on the way south to Florida, and was struck by how amazing it felt here. He passed on the enthusiastic recommendation, and when I heard about it, I just knew...that's where we were going to move next. I did a little bit of research about it online and it felt right. Like there was a green light and big tug to go. I'd never even THOUGHT about Virginia in my entire life either. ! Never crossed my mind. In the Echo newspaper, there were similar stories. People trying to figure out where they're supposed to be or where they should be going next, and the word "Charlottesville" popped into their mind or synchronistically was suggested to them.
We're in Albemarle County, but I have a mechanic that I go who's located way out in Greene County.....you have to get on Route 33
and head straight for the Blue Ridge Mountains, as if you're going to Shenandoah National Forest. He's way out there, but I love it.......it's an excuse for a scenic route like no other. My car needs fixing and it's like, Darn, snap, guess we'll have to make the scenic drive towards the mountains.
Roadtrip! Woohoo!
On the flip side, last night I was thinking some more about South Florida, where I used to live. They have absolutely gorgeous beaches - in fact, I remember reading a Top 10 list of the best beaches in the U.S. and fully 5 of them were all in Florida alone - but the vibe there isn't good. It's not all out negative, like some areas I've been to, and certainly not enough to have triggered the level of anxiety I felt when I first rolled into Portland Oregon. But, it's still not good. And I think the biggest part of the problem is the people. All the Northeast transplants who've relocated like a virus down there. The people there are intense, no exaggeration, the most vile, rudest, hateful awful people I've ever seen in action, and 2 1/2 years of being around people like that changed me, BIG time. Just cold, cold, nasty people. Blank, hateful, stone faces staring back at you. Flat, no personality, like the interior landscape. Go out of their way to hurt you, and be vile. I met more than one person who deliberately would go around wiping the smiles off faces, with a demonic vibe driving it. I know the area where I lived, Fort Lauderdale, is a very transient area. But still. That's no excuse. I was at a loss to explain how people could be like that when they're surrounded by white sand, turquoise water, year round warm weather, blue skies and white puffy clouds and palm trees. Then I realized that a good chunk of these miserable nasty people are transplanting down from the Northeast.........which has bad vibes. New York. New Jersey. And so on. I have very few positive things to say about the Northeast, so, yeah, that might explain part of it. But there certainly has to be more. South Florida is very STS, it's all about money, glamour, partying, sex and vanity, me me me me me me, what can you do for ME. It's funny but here in Virginia, you turn on the radio and here like, local college music and blues grass fiddle and banjo. In South Florida, you turn on the radio and are bombarded by ads for strip clubs, porn shops, sex hormone pills, penis enlargement and breast augmentation surgery. And worse. I've never encountered anything like it. Even Socal wasn't that bad with the sex stuff.
I was talking to two of my coworkers about it all when I was still living in Florida, telling them that only in Florida is it like that, and taken to that level. Both of them, a younger white guy and an older black woman were like "REALLY??" Honestly surprised. They guy - who'd never been anywhere else other than one trip to Alabama - laughed and said, "I just thought every place was like this."
Um, no.
There's also some heavy duty "street theater" going on down there. LOTS of crazies and weirdos, every time you leave the house to go someplace. It was like being under seige every time I went out. Even just sitting in your car at a red light.....that was classic time for harassment. You don't even want to look at the people in the cars around you.... a bit like New York, no? And where is the huge chunk of South Florida's population coming from again? hmmmmmmmm..... Moved here to Virginia, and it's calm as can be.
Anyway, just some random musings, inspired by reading an article this morning about the positive vibe and energy vortices of Charlottesville....
