Do streetlights suddenly go out when you pass beneath them? Do watches or credit cards stop working in your possession? Perhaps you are a SLIder.

Yes sometimes streetlights go out when I pass under them. But all my cards work okay.
But my mother's watch stops often. Other mechanical or electromagnetic things cease to work when she's there. She's a physician of Scottish origin and she's very emotional (she took some antidepressants a long time ago and she became somebody else, almost demonically passionately 'on fire' and destructive). I think it has to do with the electromagnetic and elemental nature of the doppelganger and elemental beings surrounding ourselves according to our particular psycho-spiritual nature.
Where I live, a "slider" has a completely different meaning. ![]()
Seriously though, it's good to know that there's being some research done into that streetlight phenomenon. I'd read about abductees experiencing the same types of problems with watches, lights, batteries, etc., but it'd be really neat to know just how common of a phenomenon this is amongst the population. I guess if it were all that common, we'd be living in a strobe-light environment at night, but I bet it's more common than one would initially think.
I've had streetlights either go off or on when I'd been directly under them many times, but as far as the rest of it, I hadn't noticed any anomalous effects. One kind of comical thing that's weird, though, is my DVD players. Every single one I've ever owned is posessed. The DVD player on my DVD/VCR combo just stopped working one day without warning (the door wouldn't even open!), so I had to get another player. This one was okay, until a couple of months after I had it, I turned it on, and normally the LCD readout says "HELLO" when it's first powered on.... It now just said "HELL"... and then it started occassionally skipping around or stuttering. At first I thought it only happened when it overheated, but I was wrong... It just does it whenever it feels like it. I made a joke out of the "HELL" thing and decided to not take it personally. heh Well, about a month later, it says, "HELLO" again! WTF?! LCD's aren't supposed to just do that! Now, it's went to "HELL" again. And, just for the hell of it, I decided to try the old DVD player in the 'combo' until that had broken about a year prior, and now it's working!!...I'm starting to think that I've got "gremlins".

Streetlights? No that never happens for me I usually just use them to light my way. ![]()
. . . I _shot_ a streetlight out once. But I guess that dosen't . . . count.
*feels left out*
people claim such effects as:
Appliances such as lamps and TVs go on and off without being touched.
I once made a lamp turn on by only touching it but it turned out to be one of those touch-lamps that does it automatically. ![]()
I get the streetlights thing. Off sometimes, but weirder when they seem to completely 'dim' when I pass by. It happens at work, especially in the server room.
Staff comment and I say I am absorbing the energy. ![]()
Thing is I dont need any extra power, I am bursting with energy. I need to know how to 'transmute' it. I've read stuff, but nothing alleviates it.
This bugs me.
Evans told CNN, "that these people are perfectly healthy, normal people. It's just that they have some kind of ability... just a gift they've got. It may not be a gift they would like to have."
This is a regular and common experience I have been enjoying for 20 years, since my father died. My family at first thought I was strange until it began to become a regular experience around me. I have many interesting SLIder stories(did not know until now that I was a SLIder)-- with witnesses. It goes much farther than just lights. I have always been careful with my thoughts around people because I seem to be a transmitter of some sort.
I thank my family and friends for not thinking of me as strange because I have pointed these things out. Now, they just smile. I believe it has more to do with frequency of occasion than whether any one person notices some random defective lamps. I have three or four areas I travel that I can almost count on seeing two or three in one night. One, in particular, was going out almost 50% of the times I drove by. Some of these are simply flashers, but I have attempted to be objective in my observation. Glad to hear there are others who know this phenomenon.
A friend still has two ceiling lights that haven't been replaced from the two times I came to his house. The lights went out within one minute of the time I arrived. He knows me as the "synchronicity guy"-- for reasons you might understand for yourselves.
I get the streetlight thing, and I can't wear watches because they stop working pretty quickly. I got my first watch on my 7th birthday, and it quit working within a month. The replacement watch lasted a week, and the second replacement lasted a couple hours. My parents then said, "We don't think that there's anything wrong with the watches, and you're not knocking them or doing anything to break them. They just obviously don't stay working when you wear them, so we're going to stop buying them for you." My Dad's sister has the same thing. I heard that it's static electricity build-up and painting a layer of nail varnish on the underside will stop that. But I've also had the LCD display on my portable cassette player stop working, and other electronic equipment act strangely around me, so I think it's more that static electricity especially when equipment that's not physically touching me gets affected.
I also had this weird thing where the time on my computer was always 1 hour ahead, so I'd tell it to update itself, and no matter if it updated on the government time server, or the windows time server, it stayed 1 hour ahead. I thought that this was because the time servers were set to the wrong time, but when I told my brother about this and we tried internet updating the time on our parents computer, the time was correct. But when I got home and tried on mine, the time was still doing it's 1 hour ahead thing.
I also have CD player issues. For ages just about the only CD's I played were two ambient chill out discs. Then my CD player stopped playing either of them, and wouldn't play anything else. Months later, on a whim I tried playing a CD and it worked. I just assumed that my CD player got bored with those two discs. But lately about the only time I use my CD player is when I go out, and I put Bob Marley's "Natty Dread" on for my dog, to keep her entertained. If I don't play anything, then things get chewed, and if I play any other disc, then things get chewed, but with "Natty Dread" on she's good. Well I recently put a different disc on to listen to, and the sound kept cutting out, and it would stop playing. Now every single disc I have, except "Natty Dread", even the gold ones either refuse to play or keep skipping and stop playing. I've cleaned the lens and this makes no difference. But "Natty Dread" plays fine, with no skipping or problems. It's like that disc is so imprinted on my CD player, that even though the laser is almost out of gas, and it can't play other discs, it instinctively knows what to do and what's expected of it when "Natty Dread" comes on.
Happens to me all the time. Sometimes the combination of me and certain other persons will cause it to be more dramatic. I also tend to burn out computer equipment, keyboards, cell phones, etc. It goes in waves, but I haven't been able to pin it on being disturbed or emotional.

What is it in the server room that is dimming?

Use mechanical clock/watche ![]()
One thing they don't take into consideration in this study is the electromagnetic effects of the human aura. Some people can manipulate their auras by changing their feelings and some I guess can do it by just changing their thoughts. When someone is upset the aura sometimes shoots out lightening-shaped bolts of red energy, which have been reported by those that can see an aura easily (I'm not including myself here).
Next time a light goes out around you, pay attention to what you were just thinking, that could give you a clue. Also, those that seem to always make lights go on and off, I would try to develop PK abilities, or moving things with your thoughts and/or a beam coming out of your third chakra.
Experimenting with these methods might give you an "ah ha", as to what makes things go on and off around you.

I've noticed the street light thing when I'm in a very tense/explosive state of mind.
Like when I've had a bad night at work and I'm on the way home.
I had a friend who could make a whole string of them go out on the street he
drove home on. Then he got a ticket because his driver's side headlight was
pointing up and illuminating the sensors on the streetlights making them think
it was daylight and shutting them off.
Also I have been known to shoot out offensive street lights with their cold and
nauseating blue greenish color. The kind that the indians call "ghost lights"
which scare away all the wildlife within a mile of their ugly glow.

This is something I've heard about but not experienced.
Is this phenomenon limited to to inanimate/electrical objects, or have any of you produced a similar effect on semi-conscious matter -- like plants? For example, tending to 'burn out' plants (similar to a light or watch)... or conversely make them healthy and grow just by being around them?

Just the flourescent lights, thankfully! I never have the lights on in my office, just sunlight.
PlaideanHealer - I will be more observant of my mood and feelings, I am sure you right.
I often try PK, but not much luck so far. However the subconcious mind is more powerful than the concious mind, I suppose the trick is doing it from a deeper state of mind.
Avolikita - Im glad you mentioned the CD thing. That happens to me too, the only CD player I can listen to is in my car (is it the rubber tyres grounding me?), all the rest (and there have been many including DVD players) have all gone in the bin.
