FYI if you save the .gvp file to your computer and open it in Notepad, you will find the URL to the actual video file in its original format.

Nice. But with dialup users, what would also be necessary would be for that server to actually inform my download manager of the complete filesize so that it may pause and continue the download where it left off since the filesizes of most standard video formats will be large enough to necessitate doing this.
So, in short, google video server refuses to give complete filesize info = down with google video.
