Topic: Telephone weirdness

There's been some strange stuff going on lately around my parts with phone calls.

When I was in CA my man-critter called on Sun....the only thing is he didn't dial my friend's cell phone number, which would be a long distance call. He had dialed a local number for one of his friends. He was very confused by reaching my friend's cell phone number instead of his friends'.

I have questioned him about this a number of times thinking he MUST HAVE made a mistake. He swears he knows he dialed the local number, didn't mistakenly hit redial (but he hadn't even ever called the number in the first place for it to be redial ready), and got agitated with me for repeatedly questioning him about it. And, he isn't a good liar...as can his mother, I can tell when he's not telling the truth, he's body language is a dead give away.

One of my friends works at a beauty shop and said that the week before Memorial weekend five customers called the shop after seeing the number on their caller ID boxes, and asked why the shop had called. Well, they hadn't called them.

What the heck? Anybody else having similar things going on with phone calls recently?

While I've seen a lot of woowoo-weird things happen in my life, like items manifesting out of thin air, this is right at the top of the list...I'm having a really hard time wrapping myself around how these phone calls are happening.

Today's mighty oak is just yesterday's nut that held its ground.

Re: Telephone weirdness

It's funny you're mentioning this...I had a little phone weirdness of my own this weekend.

Keep in mind I don't own a cell phone, but had one at my disposal on this occasion.

Me and a friend were travelling on the highway about 1 in the morning when we saw a semi-truck pulled off to the side.  It was dark out, and I was doing about 65, so I didn't get many details, but it looked like there were two men leading a girl into the driver side of the cab.  She had her hands in front of her and it llked like there was string hanging from them.  I just got a bad feeling about it so I called 911 and told them what was going on.  (I'm not one to call 911 at the slighteset provocation; actually the first time I ever had.)

The conversation ended.  I hung up.  After a while the phone rang and it was in emergency mode.  I couldn't turn the thing off at first.  I had my friend fool with it, and he eventually got it to turn off.  But after it was off, it still made chriping noises and lit up.

Maybe something, maybe nothing.

Hey!  This self-actualization stuff is great!  Now if I could just quit smoking...
