Topic: Prayers for kitty bardo

My beloved cat "Fat Head" (I also called her Bean-Bean most of the time) passed away today.  I found her body in the middle of the street in front of the house while wiping off my car windows before going off to work at 5:30ish am.  It appears she was most likely struck by a car and died quickly (hopefully)......  No blood or twisted up body, just appeared as if she was sleeping peacefully on her side.

She had just turned 2, the joy she brought into my life was so phenomenal, words cannot convey my feelings.  I've had several cats throughout the years, but the bond with Fat Head was extra special and profound, her spirit will always bring memories of the ferocious exuberance for life itself.  Truly one of the greatest blessings from the Great Spirit.

She was pretty much a wild child type, couldn't keep her indoors for anything despite all my endeavors.  Just figured it was best to let her be her true nature and experience happiness on her own terms.  I just felt it would be like caging up her love being forced indoors.

There were times she'd actually chase the garbage truck or even a dog much larger that herself!!!!!!!  Another favorite stunt would be sneeking up on the retarded boy across the street, running like hell (when he couldn't see her) and then rebounding off his back  roll  Real prankster for sure.  She'd even purr while eating!  Live and Love to the extreme,  pure delight in just being, I'm gonna miss her in body, but spirit is forever.

Re: Prayers for kitty bardo

I'm so sorry to hear that you lost such a wonderful companion.  I'm new to these boards, but I've been an animal lover all my life, and I know how hard it can be to take an animal's death.

My thoughts are with you, and Fat Head's (aka "Bean-Bean's") special spirit.

Re: Prayers for kitty bardo

I have felt that pain, manyeagles.  Although her life was short it was lived to the fullest.  If she could've she would've thanked you for that.  You did good.

Re: Prayers for kitty bardo

Very sorry to hear this.  Her spirit is real and she will always be here.

Re: Prayers for kitty bardo

Thank you so much for your heartfelt responses  smile

The pain is still there, but time is the best healer when one looses their beloved pet.  Fat Head's mommy came to me when she had "bun's in the oven" so to speak.  She delivered 4 beautiful kittens, and the neighbor next door killed the mom cat, luckily the kittens were just bearly weened and all survived.  I named mom cat Peg-leg (she had a nasty wound on one of her back legs), and nursed her back to health.  Fat Head had the fattest head of the litter, gave the others away at Wal-Mart within 20 minutes!!!!  The runt was a gentle small black female, a woman in her 60's or so (very Russian or Slavic) with her grandson wanted this kitty SO bad that they actually went into the store WITH the cat fearing someone else would take it !!!!!!!  She had the babushka and all, didn't speak a word of english, and the grandson looked elated that gramdma received a much wanted companion  big_smile

Seems with cats they just show up and adopt you, they do sense "kitty people."  Wouldn't be surprised if one shows up at the back door  roll

Re: Prayers for kitty bardo

I wouldn't be surprised either!  My favorite cat belonged to my next door neighbor (where I used to live), and he decided he wanted to hang with me instead.  I was devastated when he died but was so thankful I had the privilege to know him.  Some cats are just super special, aren't they!

Re: Prayers for kitty bardo

Man I FEEL for you....I've lost too many loved ones to the road...such a shame.

Not as clever as I think I am

Re: Prayers for kitty bardo

Today my mate said he saw Fat  Head run up the tree!!! (her favorite tree to hang out in, and where we buried her).  Sprinkled the grave with fresh rose petals and said a prayer.  Maybe she will lead a kindred soul to this abode for love.  Dreamed about a little grey kitty with blue eyes the other night.  Hmmmm.......

Re: Prayers for kitty bardo

Hey ManyEagles,

I am sorry to hear about your cat.  i know how special cats are to cat people.  i hope you find another special cat when the time is right.

i like to think of them as tiny tigers.  they are stealth and full loaded with wu tang weaponry.  very cool animals.

i gave my girl friend a cat for valentines day six years ago and at first they didn't really bond (for what ever reason).  but now, having moved all over the world together they are in love with each other.  she even talks about what it was like to be pregnant with "Snickers".....crazy, i know.  snickers lived in a cottage at the beach for a couple of summers and had a best friend that was a ferret.  they fought and traded martial arts secrets with each other.  it was pretty cool to see them go at it.

last week Snickers was hunting a bird on her roof in pittsburgh and fell four stories.  he survived but broke his leg in the process....quit a scare indeed.  Scared moma have to death.

i have to say that when my roomate and i read about Fat Head stalking your retarded nieghbor just for the fun of it we blew out laughing...all the way here in thailand.  it was more than just funny....we were dying laughing.

thank you for sharing you experience with your cat.  she sounded very very special.

Thank you for your reply and input   big_smile

Came at a most crucial time.  Was doing fine until yesterday evening and I "broke down" -UGH!!!!    Oh well, for us "kitty people" out there there's no explaining to do.  Visited the local "kitty/doggie" jail and found the special one that touched my heartstrings.  Won't be ready for adoption for a month, but in the meantime am trying to think of names for him/her.  BTW, love doggies too, but feel a kitty with "special needs" seems right for now.  Can't wait!!!!!!!!

My sis took in a kitty that was abused by some pretty nasty neighbors some time ago.  His name is Ollie, an orange tabby that had endured stuff that makes me cringe.......  Like being doused with gasoline and almost being lit (she rescued him in time before this was about to occur), horrible leg wound, head trauma.  Anyways, he is well loved and spoiled, a real "king of the hill"  lol  lol  lol   He even does meow's over the phone with me!!!!!!!  roll

Any suggestions for kitty names would be much appreciated.  I am looking so much forward to adopting another kitty person  wink

Re: Prayers for kitty bardo

I am needing some help, prayers, and assistance also for my Cat Morgan.
He has been unwell and some of whats going on is both disturbing and unclear.
An animal seer has helped me some, but there are still health issues that we are not sure about.
He is young, less than 3.
We both went thru a traumatic move of residence. We are needing very much to be able to move yet again, to a place that is more in accord with what we both need, but the way is not clear.
I have had many animals taken from me in difficult ways.
Many. So many that something about the history of it feels not right at all.
All I learned about unconditional love comes from the animals.

Please send Morgan your love.

Re: Prayers for kitty bardo

To little kitty bardo, known as the cat with the fat (head). Bean-bean to heaven i send, with prayers these written for her ascend. There she will lie, purring and waiting for the day you die. To jump on you once more, and to heaven welcome you with joy galore.

I knew not this cat with the head most fat, yet poetry i write fairly well. So i wish you an easy time, with the poetry that i try to rhyme.

So hold not this poetry against me, for i only try to ease thee. For the death of a pet, always gets my eyes wet. An easy time for you, i hope and say adio

Re: Prayers for kitty bardo

So many thanks and sincere responses, thank you all   smile  StarCat, do you think perhaps "enlightened kitties" are knowing on some level you are the right one to be with in spite of the circumstances you relayed?
My thoughts are with Morgan, and have incense lite now for him.
It is so painful to have a much loved pet "break onto the other side" in a matter of a few years......  But then again, another one seemingly appears at the right moment and time.  Guess it's being on the "love list?"   Foster cat folks are in demand????

Hkelukka,  Your poem is so much appreciated; thank you.  I feel Fat Head knows too.  Funny thing, I saw a faint whitish light sweep by my feet while reading your poem.
