Topic: Greatly Welcome Counsel on choosing an Amethyst Crystal Pendant

I am really unsure how to start my post because this desire to have an amethyst pendant comes from a source I cannot identify.  Why amethyst?  I do not know the reason behind it except that once the idea got into my head it has not relented and has caused me to fantasize about amethyst crystals and even recall one I had as a child but no longer have.

Why a pendant?  Again I am not sure except for the visions I received.  As someone who has never worn jewelry or things along those lines this is a surprise to me.  My ego is knocking on my door and spouting its programmed negative propaganda while my inner self urges me onward.

Who am I to argue with inner self?  These past few years have been a trip down the rabbit hole.  Coming from a perfect drone in la la land who did not believe in God or spirituality, to someone who continues to experience amazing things and synchronistically come into knowledge at just the right time, stepping up and up.  I am so thankful that I was able to wake up and at a younger age.  I am thankful indeed to everyone and everything; much Love for everyone here at Noble Realms, a place that just fills me with Love and Light and consistently amazes me by turning up topics that I have on my mind at the same time...

Onto the crystal!  What do I know about crystals? Not much at all I'm afraid except some information I've come across.  Correct me if I'm wrong but do they not focus and store energy/light?  I've read about people using them for healing, helping with negativity, but deep down a part of me knows more than it is saying, or perhaps I just am not in tune well enough to listen/understand.

Hopping onto google I did browsing and quickly became overwhelmed.  First I learned that some are not even natural, they are grown in laboratories.  Then I learned that some are treated for color.  Some are cut and/or polished.  Then a big whammy hit me: amethysts are available as cluster, single or double termination (and this I assume would have different effects metaphysically)

I'm sure this doesn't help you to help me, because if you knew why I wanted it, you could tell me exactly what kind of amethyst to get.  I truly don't know the reasons, but in reading what amethyst is associated with, it sounds beautiful.

Perhaps you could enlighten me on the metaphysical differences of natural/laboratory, cut/uncut, cluster/single/double termination, and anything else that is of great consequence?

Item 2.  Interestingly enough it says amethyst corresponds to both my tropical and sidereal signs..as well as the number 3.  Out of all my number synchronicities I see 33 and 333 the most, everyday, multiple times.

This is so trippy.  A short while ago I decided to get a crystal.  I went into a shop with the belief that I needed a clear quartz.  When I asked about healing crystals, the store owner smiled went into the back and got out his prize collection.  They were all beautiful, and had great energy, but they weren't *it*.  They didn't feel right to me.  The guy looked a bit insulted when I rejected pretty much his whole prize collection. 

I decided to give up.  As I walked out the door, I got an image in my mind of a "purple rock".  At that point I had no idea about amethyst's characteristics, why purple, or what a good one should look like.  Just a "purple rock" big_smile ....  The guy reluctantly got out his amethyst collection, and I picked out a fist sized one with no price tag, which he sold to me for $20.

So, I guess just let it the "purple rock" you need call out to you, which it sounds like it already has somewhat.  Follow your instincts.  Mine has two points, one end is mostly purple the other mostly clear and fits nicely in the palm of my left hand; even has natural finger holds.  I'm curious what "yours" will be like.

Good choice wanting to use amethyst!   This has got to be one of the most important stones you can use at this particular time.    The way people are getting "hammered" by the incoming energies these days, it's hard to find some relief, but with amethyst you've find a good friend. 

I've been using crystal's for year's now.   I think this must be a past-life thing with me, since I'm so drawn to them.   I almost always have some kind of beaded necklace on (I used malas) even though I'm a guy.   I've learned that pendant's are fine, but beaded necklaces work 10 times better and you can feel the effect's of the stone much more easily.    So if you decide to go with the pendant that's fine, but highly recommend getting some kind of beaded necklace or mala.   You don't have to buy a very expensive one, the amethyst mala I have cost me $30 at a local bookstore.   It has 108 beads in it and was made more for prayer, but you can also use it around your neck.

I would avoid any pendant's with silver backing.  It's important for the actual crystal, as you wear it, to touch your skin.    Also, a beaded necklace has a more "theraputic" value to it, since your body will be more uniformly flooded with the energies from the amethyst.   I've tested all this myself, so I'm not just giving you information I've read about.    You'll also notice, a calmness come over you as you use amethyst and you'll be able to make more "wise" decision's.   Also, since a beaded necklace has more power than a pendant, you'll also notice your energy going up.   In fact, you might have to wear it on and off just to get use to the new energies in your body, should they make you a little uncomfotable.   When I first used my amethyst mala I could feel all sorts of tingling sensation's throughout the day on the top of my head.   My crown chakra was being stimulated alot and I wasn't used to it, but as time went by it calmed down and now feels much better.

You may or may not get these same results, so you have to experiment with them.   One of the finest beaded necklace dealers in the world has some of the best theraputic necklaces I've ever seen.   The man that created these also channel's the "gemstone guardians" and I think he's gotten most of the inside information from them and in turn put's out some incredible necklaces.   Here's a link to his website and also his webpage on amethyst.  I know his necklaces are very expensive, but I hope you get a chance to read the information on this page about amethyst, it will tell you what this stone will do for you, even if you decide not to buy.    There's more here than meet's the eye with crystal's, don't let anyone tell you their just stones.  Another important thing he does is only string them using silk.

Buying from the Internet is fine, but if you can get to some crystal stores in your area, I would recommend seeing the touching the crystal in person, you might get a strong pull to find the right one that way.

One more thing I forgot to add is that amethyst will do wonder's for your intuition.    These days, I would have to say that's one of the most important abilities anyone can have is being highly intuitive.

I've had spontaneous psychic experiences where I just knew things with my amethyst mala on.   I've also had spontaneous telepathic thing's happen to me, where I was able to easily perceive a person's thought's with a lapis mala on.   I frequently work with many different stones and have some very interesting things happen.    I've noticed with the lapis I seem to perceive telepathically better and with an onyx (black stone) necklace I seem to send telepathically better.    I can't say everyone will have this same experience, but I've found that I do, sometimes anyway.

So I hope you start working with your amethyst as soon as possible, you'll be much happier for it.

Oh, now that I think of it.   I've also used a aventurine mala, and this one I would have to say is very friendly, since when I have this stone on I alway's feel more happy.   I would highly recommend this to anyone who wishes to absorb the energies of healing and happiness, it never seem's to let me down.   As much as I like my lapis mala, the adventurine one is always my first choice.

I would like to thank you all for your guidance.  The spirit of service to others is a great blessing on the forum. 

PleiadianHealer, without you I would not have come across that amazing source which has sparked many new interests and energies within me.  The information there was astonishing.  Just a few hours ago I received my Amethyst necklace and I am beaming!  I will order books by Michael Katz so I can learn from the Gemstone Guardians as I now have a new avenue of opportunities open with gemstones.

I was really drawn in by this site and its information. You can read the contents of "Wisdom Of The Gemstone Guardians" on-line by going to the page for each stone and then they have a link to the relevant chapter. I've spent some time the last few days reading different sections. I was pulled in a different direction from the amelthyst. That site seems dangerous to me: It had a really strong draw and there's a few things I wish I could get that are extremely yikes expensive. I ordered Katz's newest book, "Gemstone Energy Medicine: Healing Body, Mind, and Spirit". I did a little check at amazon for reviews and I only saw one review that wasn't 5/5, so I figured it would be good for me. I'm still a newb for crystals. I ordered a couple little sets of stones before. After reading gemisphere, I think I know why I'm a bit disappointed with what I got previously. This time I went for lavender, sodalite, and dark green aventurine.

I'd be embarassed to talk about it anywhere else as I would just get ridiculed by my friends over this. Especially because of how extremely expensive they are from that particular site. I went for the sodalite after reading about some of the clearing effects it can have with regards to negativity without and within, which I'm surrounded by in this neighborhood where I am staying. The dark green aventurine is supposed to help in cleansing and healing the physical body so you can focus on higher things rather than being bogged down by illness and such, and the lavender for aligning and balancing between the different energy bodies. So I'm hoping for better flow and a little bit more clarity and protection. I was also doing a couple things from Lipstick Mystic's thread about clearing bad energy, sea salt, and protection. It seems to be having a positive effect. Part of me thinks I must be insane to jump into that site like this. I think it's essentially a trust issue, especially with money involved. Considering how the world is these days. There's a lot of snake oil salesmen, but I spent a few days waiting and trying to carefully consider it and last night and today I've had a really strong pull to it that has been nagging me nonstop like I have to try it, or I really need it. Hmmm. I hope it all works out. Either way, if I just did something stupid, I'll learn from it too. But overall, I think I've been better off since I've been reading NR and have to thank the folx here for their thoughts, ideas, and suggestions. You all rock smile
