Shylock

Any Shakespeare fans here?

I watched the newest film version of The Merchant of Venice the other night and am eager to hear from those of you who have seen it. What was your take on the film's portrayal of Shylock? I think Pacino gave a beyond amazing performance, but what else is new. Anyway, I have some thoughts on the way the film handled Shylock but first I'd like to hear your opinions/thoughts.
