Topic: Facial

I'm looking for a natural, chemical free facial moisturizer. I was looking at some Burt's Bees mango butter and beeswax mousturizer but didn't care for the texture and the way it felt on my skin. Does anyone have any sugestions? And no, no suggestions to use urine please wink

Re: Facial

you could try almond oil

Re: Facial

Coconut oil is wonderful and really good for the skin.  It comes in a jar and is so fine that it is solid until you take a tiny dab from the jar and put it on your palm, then it melts very quickly.  You apply to face, hands, feet anywhere on yourself as there are no chemicals.  It absorbs very quickly, wait a few minutes and wipe off the excess with a tissue, or leave it on and it will sink in a few minutes longer.  It is a marvelous make-up remover because it does not sting or hurt the eyes.  I won't be without it; it also staves off wrinkles.  If you don't want to use a topical moisturizer, take Evening of Primrose oil orally, after a few days your skin won't need an external moisterizer.

Re: Facial

Ozonated coconut or olive oil.

Its not like we are fractions of the whole but rather versions of the whole.

Re: Facial

Thanks for the tips, everyone.

I like the idea of coconut oil. My local organic/health food store sells coconut oil. Doesn't it leave skin oily feeling at all though? I tend to have skin that's prone to being oily and have to watch out for this.

Re: Facial

I sometimes use coconut, jojoba, or shea butter, but my favorite by far is olive oil.  Everyone is different, but for me olive oil soaks right in.  I don't have a problem with oiliness with it, even though have Mediterranean-type oily skin.  I'd recommend giving oil a try.  It feeds your skin's natural barrier, and it works great.

Ozone gas is passed through olive or coconut oil until it becomes gel like.
Its really good for many skin ailments, burns, excema and things and because it it really high in reactive oxygen  it makes a excellent skin moisturiser and will oxidize toxins in the skin.

Re: Facial

Here are a few websites of brands I have tried and found the products to be very good.

For soft skin I recommend using dead sea salt in the bath, be sure to remember to splash your face  with the salty water. Another thing that is totally natural and you can grow your own is aloe vera.
Sometimes I use yoghurt as a face mask, also honey. And you can exfoliate your face with sugar maybe put some yoghurt or honey on your face first and then gently rub in the sugar.
Oh and one more thing, rosehip seed oil is great.

Re: Facial

Hi Ahurani,

I just use the plain organic coconut oil. Haven't see the one Doc speaks of.  My skin is oily also, it takes an oil to cut an oil, water does not correct oil.  This oil sinks in so completely, you are unaware it is even on.

Re: Facial

P.S.

I could never us olive oil as it is far to thick, stinky and heavy for me. Coconut is the finest oil in texture, but maybe the olive is okay for those that don't have the same skin as I do.

Re: Facial

I've been using DHC products, and found that the olive oil facial cleanser is the best for all skin types.  This company originates from Japan and use no animal testing.  Excellent for those with sensative skin.

The olive oil cleanser emulsifies in water, so there's absolutely no oily residue.  Just squirt a few pumps onto dry hands, massage onto dry face, and even eyelashes if you need to remove mascara.  Doesn't sting the eyes, and helps the eyelashes as well.  No yuckey smell, and a bottle of this stuff lasts a long time.  They also have a wonderful product that actually gets RID of puffy eyes/bags-I keep it in the frig. and put it on in the morning.  Works wonders!!!!!!

Free samples are included in the catalog, so no need to buy anything, just try them out first.  Phone # 1-800-342-2273, website www.DHCcare.com

Re: Facial

Thanks for all the feedback!

I think all the suggestions have merit but I think I'm going to try coconut oil because I love the smell and like Pamelajean, would find putting olive oil with its heavy odor and texture on my face to be a bit unpleasant. Also, I have combination skin and think that coconut oil will work better since it's lighter and more delicate.
