Topic: Prozac On-Tap

http://www.webmd.com/content/article/92/101794.htm

I found a WebMD article about Prozac being discovered in Great Britain drinking water.  The theory is that Prozac, being as widely prescribed as it is, is passing through urine, into wastewater reclamation centers, and is being piped back out to your tap.

And actually this could be happening with a huge array of medications--pain pills, antidepressants, blood pressure meds, etc.  Apparently, the public water filters aren't precise enough to filter out organic compounds like prescription meds.

Of course, the medications are watered down by the time they reach you and are in trace amount.  But still...

Man, one more reason to buy reverse osmosis, ten-stage filtered water.  Though I wonder if even those thorough system can screen out meds.

It seems to me more and more that mental/energetic methods are the only foolproof way to live a healthy life.

Re: Prozac On-Tap

True.  The thing is, this stuff is in almost everyone's water now, even if you have a water well instead of town water.

Meds, batteries, old CD's and DVD's, fabric softener, and tons of other materials get deposited into landfills every day, where they are just covered up by more of the same, until it is full.  All of this eventually trickles down into the water table.  A lot of it is filtered by natural means (layers of rock, etc) but inevitably it gets into our drinking water.

Yes, water filters are almost a must-have these days.  Distillation is probably best.  True, it removes the beneficial elements from water (thus leaching them from your body) - but you can get those back from foods you eat.  RO would be second but still much, much better than no filtering.  Charcoal filters are in my opinion, practically useless.

Re: Prozac On-Tap

Fluoride and prozac, soul-numbing effects and now prevalent in the water system! Go figure.

Reverse osmosis systems remove between 80 and 95% of fluoride from what I read. Haven't found any figures on its removal of prozac, but it must be that or better since it's a bigger molecule.

Distillation I think would be the most effective. I buy distilled water and add some electrolytes like sea salt, potassium salt, and baking soda to raise the pH and lower its solvency. Sometimes add calcium carbonate and run it through the magnetic blender. This reduces the unknown substances in the final product, compared to certain brands of spring water at least.

Acquiring fringe knowledge is like digging for diamonds in a mine field.

Distilled water does not leach minerals from your body this myth has been debunked a long time ago, though it does help the body of inorganic material that should not be there as it acts like a magnet.
I have been drinking the stuff for over 10 years at 3 litres a day and should be totally de-mineralised and sick by now if that myth was true.

Google distilled water myths
Nowadays i  add ionic minerals from crystal salt to my water i teaspoon of brine (sole) to every 4 litres which adds full spectrum 80+absorbable minerals/trace elemnets back into the water.
Many of the minerals like calcium in bottled mineral water and tap water are in an inorganic form so cannot be utilsed by the body anyway.
When you see the limescale left in the distiller it makes you glad it has not gone into your body smile

Its not like we are fractions of the whole but rather versions of the whole.
