Hi,
I looked again at the wingmakers website for about the first time in 12 months.I was wondering if anyone had any comments on the material they could share please.
Warm regards

JT,
Ah, one of my "sore points". I originally posted what I found out about wingmakers on the old Cass site (before the redesign) under the old guestbook.
I said:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"A "complete" hoax? Maybe not, carefully consider the wording. I would prolly say "nearly complete".
Besides all the strange newsgroup postings(which I admit could have been forged) there are a number of other clues.
1) Mr. Hempel has worked for Microsoft and the DOD(Department of Defense)
2) A newsgroup posting from 1995 indicates Mr. Hempel not only is familiar with oil painting but feels comfortable enough to supply advice. The address was WingMakers@msn.com
3)Here's one for you Bill...Mr. Hempel was(is?) a pianist in a group called "Soul Food". The same people who produced the music for his site. Interestingly enough they came out with a CD shortly before the site opened that has "very similar" music.
4) This ones a bit a of stretch(uncomfirmed). There is a cartoonist that does a strip called "Tug & Buster". This is an adult comic that has strangely archetypical characters. Author? Marc Hempel. Dunno if they're the same person or not.
So...looking at what's on the site I have to ask the following questions.
1) Is it likely that he could have (or knows) someone to do the paintings? Answer: Yes
2) Is it likely he could have done the music? Answer: Yes
3) Does he have the know-how to create a site that is obviously a cut above normal? Answer: Yes
4) If he is the same man as the cartoonist would his archetypical views allow him to create a site like this? Answer: Yes
A true story? Doubtful.. Are there really caves in New Mexico(or elsewhere?) Maybe. Is this a story about real people? Doubtful.. Divinely inspired fiction? Most likely if any of it is true at all.

Then there is this at http://blogs.orgonite.com/dor2or/10 :
"The Wingmakers were a fiction, a lie, an agency operation that we exposed in detail, for the express purpose of placing psychics in the public eye, using Mark's wingmaker site as the drop-in vector, and then hi-jacking the whole Sylph Movement."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now 2 1/2 years after I posted my synopsis on the original cass site I still maintain that it is in fact a lie, a psyop, and a few other phrases I won't repeat here.
In effect it is the blueprint of "wishful thinking" on the part of the STS. I couldn't get past two chapters before I was so nauseated I couldn't continue.
Edit: Bad Grammar
