Yeah, I'm annoyed at every one of you here, because you make it impossible for me to sink into that oh-so-familiar narcissistic, "Me Guru, You Not!" ego trap that most metaphysical teachers fall into. 'Cause you're all so sharp and tuned in yourselves, I can't employ the usual convenient formula of "I studied meditation on a mountain top for 40 years with goats, so obviously I know everything!" that so many teachers use.
I don't know about you, but I've always felt that the true definition for a teacher of any kind is someone whose enthusiasm about learning is contagious. They are always learning and exploring on their own and inspiring others with some of the seeds of what they've discovered, but they never fall into the trap of believing that they have reached a stasis point of all-knowingness or all-perfect-ness (made up a new word there.)
The teachers I've learned the most from have inspired me with cool tips and tidbits I could apply in my own life. And they've tantalized and mesmerized me by sharing amazing anecdotes about their own adventures, which in turn inspired me to have adventures of my own. They had the curiosity, the humor, and the enthusiasm of children when they learn how to do something and are all psyched about it - and they carried that through their entire teaching career. This is the best type of teacher, for sure. I've been privileged to know so many throughout my little life.
And I honor them all.
Thanks to everybody here for continuing to be my teachers!
