CIA chief George Tenet steps down

CIA director George Tenet has tendered his resignation to the White House, citing "personal reasons".
President George W Bush told reporters he had accepted Mr Tenet's resignation as head of the US intelligence agency.

"I told him I'm sorry he's leaving. He's done a suberb job on behalf of the American people," Mr Bush said.

Mr Tenet will stay in the post until mid-July. After that, the deputy director will serve as acting director until a replacement is found.

Jokingly thought maybe someone else has a bigger reptile tale, or someone bit his off--or he's ready to be a full time reptile groomer.

Re: Strike 1

Both the CIA and FBI director said they did not believe Osama had anything to do with the events of 9/11/01 (just after it happened), and with in two or three days both changed their statement now supporting the theory of Osama and his band of terrorists. Just so we are clear they changed their statement because of pressure from the administration.

There has been numerous occasions where Tenet has contridicated the 'official' version of certain events and has said that if B*sh is re-elected he would step down. Not to mention he took a slap in the face for the outright lies that permeated the 2003 State of the Union speech.

In the weeks to follow we'll either see Tenet spilling the beans on alot of the manipulation and corruption in the administration, or he'll end up dead in a plane wreck, car wreck, or some other obscured accident.

Re: Strike 1

My first thought was that we'll be seeing Tenet rolling all over the shrubbery in the near future.

Today's mighty oak is just yesterday's nut that held its ground.

Bush's Erratic Behavior Worries White House Aides

The President's abrupt dismissal of CIA Directory George Tenet Wednesday night is, aides say, an example of how he works.

"Tenet wanted to quit last year but the President got his back up and wouldn't hear of it," says an aide. "That would have been the opportune time to make a change, not in the middle of an election campaign but when the director challenged the President during the meeting Wednesday, the President cut him off by saying 'that's it George. I cannot abide disloyalty. I want your resignation and I want it now."

Tenet was allowed to resign "voluntarily" and Bush informed his shocked staff of the decision Thursday morning. One aide says the President actually described the decision as "God's will."

God may also be the reason Attorney General John Ashcroft, the administration’s lightning rod because of his questionable actions that critics argue threatens freedoms granted by the Constitution, remains part of the power elite. West Wing staffers call Bush and Ashcroft “the Blues Brothers“? because “they’re on a mission from God.“?

“The Attorney General is tight with the President because of religion,“? says one aide. “They both believe any action is justifiable in the name of God.“?

Re: Strike 1

This seems to confirm things I've read before, which said that Bush talks with "God" (ie. some STS entity ordering him what to do).

Re: Strike 1

Hi,

It looks like the heat is being turned up....more interesting developments......

Why did DCI George Tenet suddenly resign on June 3rd, only to be followed a day later by James Pavitt, the CIA's Deputy Director of Operations (DDO)?

The real reasons, contrary to the saturation spin being put out by major news outlets, have nothing to do with Tenet's role as taking the fall for alleged 9/11 and Iraqi intelligence "failures" before the upcoming presidential election.

Both resignations, perhaps soon to be followed by resignations from Colin Powell and his deputy Richard Armitage, are about the imminent and extremely messy demise of George W. Bush and his Neocon administration in a coup d'etat being executed by the Central Intelligence Agency. The coup, in the planning for at least two years, has apparently become an urgent priority as a number of deepening crises threaten a global meltdown.

Re: Strike 1

Well, actually it's the counter-coup as the original coup in 2000 put GW and cabal into power.

Re: Strike 1

JT that's a very interesting theory. I'm pretty certain it's planned for Bush to be kicked out of the White House this November, with Kerry winning the election. After all, the World Management Team needs a Democrat president to fix the economic crash coming up sometime in the next two years.

Hi All,

"A Temporary Coup"

Author Thomas Powers says the White House's corruption of intelligence has caused the greatest foreign policy catastrophe in modern U.S. history -- and sparked a civil war with the nation's intel agencies.

June 14, 2004 | The U.S. is now waging three wars, says intelligence expert Thomas Powers. One is in Iraq. The second is in Afghanistan. And the third is in Washington -- an all-out war between the White House and the nation's own intelligence agencies.

And so it continues.....  http://fairuse.1accesshost.com/news2/salon23.htm

Re: Strike 1

The title of the article reads -

Tenet: Resigning with head 'very, very high'

Not just 'head held high' or 'very high' but 'very, very' . . .

When I first read this I was immersed in researching claims of dangerous near earth objects. The article title struck me as containing a hidden clue as to the real reason for his resignation because of it's redundant wording. Obviously, if you're titling the article and simply wish to invoke the cliche addage 'with head held high', then this redundant wording is not needed and you certainly wouldn't use up precious 'title space' for redundant wording like this. So I thought - HIDDEN MEANING!

So, okay, 'head held very high' would be (I would imagine) looking high into the sky, but 'very, very high' would be even higher than that - so high in fact as to be looking STRAIGHT UP. Was his decision to resign made with fore-knowledge of some danger from above?

I am as is Void.
