Yep, I was born in Izmir, western coast of Turkey but my father's family comes from Greek islands, so I'm from Meditarrean region I guess!

Age is such a weird thing.  I can't believe I'm supposed to be "30."  I don't feel it.  I have the life experience of a 30 year old, but I don't look it, and I feel like I could be 21, easily.   People often think I am anyway, so I may as well be!   When I was 25 I was getting hit on by highschool boys.  Now that I'm 30, I look 10-15 years younger, EASILY, then many guys who are my age.

A girl at a nightclub that Andy and I visited a couple of nights ago said the same thing to me. She asked how old I was, and so I told her, "I'm 31." And her jaw dropped open, and she said "NO! Bloody hell, you're doing well! You look about 21!" Some days I wish I did look more my age because I think I look like I'm still halfway through puberty... !!

I feel exactly the same, and nobody ever believes I'm nearly 30. Whenever anybody asks my age, I always say "How old do you think I am?" and the vast majority of people say 21, 22 or 23. I can personally vouch for the fact that Andy doesn't look his age either! He's about my height and build (i.e. tall and skinny) and looks to be in his very early twenties. But I think we're both old souls. Old souls in young-looking bodies. A very strange combination indeed! :-/

Anyway, it's all good. It's never bothered me how old I look or how old I actually am. It amazes me how many people I know that are dreading turning 30. I'm quite looking forward to it for some reason.

First off....I love that, "Bloody hell!"  big_smile  I just love British speak, it's awesome!   But yeah, I get the same thing, all the time.  It just got REALLY bad back in Florida.  When I was working at the yacht brokerage place, a guy came in and I stood up to greet him at the receptionist window, and he couldn't help himself, just blurted out, "Wow!   How old ARE you??  You look like somebody's 12 year old daughter that they brought to work with them!"

I just glared at him.  He began profusely apologizing, and anytime I'd see him afterwards he would always apologize. "Oh, you must hate me, I'm sure!  I'm sorry!!!!"    big_smile    At a temp job in Florida, I was being shown around and trained by this one woman who was in her 40's, and I began to notice that she was talking sloooowwww and LOOOUUUD to me, like I was retarded.   I frowned as I listened to her, thinking, "WTF?"  But I didn't say anything right away.   I saw that she didn't speak that way to others, but would switch to that slooooowwww and LOOOUUUD voice when talking with me.   Finally, I realized what was going on, and found a way to work it into the conversation that "You know.......I'm ***29****.  Yup!"

She just stopped and got bug eyed!   Said, "Oh my god....I'm sorry!  I thought you were about 19 years old!"  Then she started laughing hysterically.  After that she spoke normally to me, like an adult.

But even if I was 19 that's no excuse for talking slooooowww and LOOOOOUUD.  19 year olds are in the military, 19 year olds are married with kids.  19 year olds are in college.  19 year olds are managers at companies.   But I digress.  God, what an idiot though.  (her, not me.)   How aggravating!   This went on all the time, and I have too many stories to count.

WHOA. Uhmm. wow. That is definitely NOT what I had in mind. But it's the thought that counts, right? hmm

Actually, I was thinking more along the lines of Milla J's character in the movie Z was talking about. She plays Leeloo - 'The Fifth Element' - a genetically superior being engineered from the dna of an alien.

Re: Where is everyone from, and how old are you?

A few months ago I was was at a 7-11 buying a pack of cigarettes.  (yes- I smoke)  As I checked out, the clerk asked to see my ID.  I was shocked, and asked "Do I not look like I'm 18?"  Before she could answer, my son quickly jumped in and said, "Don't worry about getting your wallet mom, I'll buy em' for you."   The clerk, was astounded and turned a crimson red.

An absolutely priceless experience!

Do I look like I'm underage?   http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y266/l … hing40.jpg

That's AWESOME!   big_smile   I love it!

Yeah, one time I was with my brother (who was over 21) and he was buying alcohol.   The clerk behind the counter squinted at me suspiciously, and asked to see my ID as well...........thinking that I was underage, and he was buying for me.

My brother and I looked at each other and LAUGHED.   I told the clerk, "I'm 6 years older than HIM.  I'm his older sister."  The clerk couldn't believe it.  Literally.  He scrutinized my ID, totally thinking it was fake, so convinced was he that I was underage.  roll

Your story takes the cake though, Lady Vixen.  big_smile  That's just too funny..............
