Topic: History Channel with Secret Societies

I just finished watching the history channel in which they had an episode for secret societies. I was surprised to see David Icke on there who pretty much ran the show for the hour suprisingly. I can't stress how surprised I really was seeing how David Icke exposed the secret societies; skull and bones, knights templar, masons bilderburgs, trilateral commission, illuminati etc and explained how they're all connected and the people connected mentioning the blood lines. He talked about the NWO, symbols like the statue of liberty, the dollar bill. The guy who was supposed to be the disprover who was part of the trilateral commission did a terrible job, all he could say was things like ' well anyone who would think that is just absurd' or ' i have no recognition of connections like that'. Kudos to David Icke he really did a good job and the History channel for letting him go all out. The only problem was that they aired it from 3AM- 4AM

Dang! I need to get a copy of that! I'm in the middle of reading Children of the Matrix by David Icke and it is blowing my freaking mind. But I can't believe they had him on such a mainstream tv show - even though it was the worst hour of the day.

This isn't about secret societies - it's another show I saw on the history channel. This may not come as a suprise to some of you but it did to me since it was so obvious and blatant. The history channel is trying to rewrite history. Literally. The show I'm talking about is Weird U.S.. There are different themes. The one I saw was Weird U.S.: Weird Medicine. There is also Weird U.S.: Road to Weirdsville, Weird U.S.: Weird Worship, and Weird U.S.: Rebels and Traitors - all of which I have yet to see. I saw this on history channel at 1 a.m. this morning Aug. 9th. Both of the narrators are named Mark.

Here's the short take on the one last night -

From cornflakes to crystals, no matter how bizarre the method, Americans haven't been shy about doing whatever it takes to improve their health. In this episode, hosts Mark Sceurman and Mark Moran take viewers around the country to investigate our obsession with weird medicine, and see what doctors and patients have done over the years to achieve a healthy life. It all begins at the world's weirdest medical museum in Philadelphia, and ends up in San Francisco, where we investigate the latest health fad to hit the country--laughter clubs. On our 200-year trip through history we look at everything from finding your "Mojo" through a root doctor, to medical quacks like Albert Abrams, who believed he discovered electronic waves that emit from human organs. And if that's not enough, we also take a look at the life of health pioneer John Harvey Kellogg who may have loved his daily enemas, but still ran the most popular health spa of the early 20th century.

They were actually demonizing J. Kellogg because he believed that a healthy diet and good hygeine helped contribute to a long life.

On this madcap tour of America, Mark and Mark trek the country in search of bizarre, unexplained, or just plain zany stories that somehow flew under the radar screen of American History. So put away your textbooks and get ready for something a little more colorful.

Weird Worship -

On a pilgrimage of weird worship, hosts Mark Sceurman and Mark Moran begin with America's birth and pious exiles seeking refuge. In California, they meet a man who spent the last 20 years building a shrine to Jesus from car parts, tires, adobe, and more than 100,000 gallons of paint. In Iowa, they visit "The Grotto of the Redemption", a huge monument handmade from rocks and semi-precious stones. In Florida, they stop at one of America's earliest cults--the Koreshan Unity Movement, which maintained life was lived on the inside, not the outside, of planet Earth. Returning to California, they visit the UNARIUS Academy of Science, where it's taught that past-life regression, channeling messages from other worlds, and impending contact with "space brothers" will help us achieve enlightenment. Finally, they examine the Union of the Vegetable, a New Mexico sect suing the DEA for prohibiting use of a hallucinogenic tea they claim is integral to their religion.

My point is that this show is nothing but pure 'spin'. Completely surreal. It really is unbelievable if you ask me.

Perfect opportunity for them to slip something in as being "weird" which might actually have validity.  So yes, DEFINITE spin going on.  Get everybody laughing at the TV thinking "Oh ho ho!  What a bunch of wackos!"  (shakes their head, flips channel on the remote control...)

Seriously, at this point in the game, I'm no longer worried about people who are getting duped and fed spin by TV programs, the news, the media in general.   It's 2005 already.  People who are going to wake up have had their chance by now!   If they're still not awake, or lolling in front of the TV with their tongues hanging out and a trail of drool on their shirt then you know, it's not my issue.  I can't worry about it anymore.   

I know, how horribly STS, I know.  It's mostly born out of frustration.  I was all set last month to put together a booklet for free distribution, designed to help wake up the masses.  Do my part to spread the word about what's going on in this world.  But then I had a change of heart, like, WHY BOTHER??  sigh.

A number of years back, I wrote an outline of the current social and environmental issues that humanity faces.  Much narrower than the full range of topics discussed on this board, but in sentiment very much along the same lines - letting people know/waking people up.

The working title was "Why Bother?"

Interesting phrase, I think due to multiple meanings.  One, of course, is "why bother - what is going to happen will happen anyway - people don't really change - what's the point"

but ...

another possible meaning is "why bother - as in, here are some reason's why you can bother yourself to take a look.  I telling you why!!  Here's why . . .

Fill in with whatever moves you.

With the direction I'm going, I feel like I do what I do - because it's what I do!!

Not so much to change the world or enlighten people or make money, those may all be side effects - but rather because it's what I do.

For example, water flows downhill, the stars shine, the moon waxes and wanes - and I -

well for now, I research (investigate) and write - learn/teach and teach/learn - Something like that.

It may take courage to have accurate perception.  Humility is important - but can't we also see ourselves as forces of nature?

Ignorance is what frustrates me the most!  Like last night, I tell my closet friend that all physical ailments are created by the mind, but he doesn't "believe" that.  Belief is what stops most people, that and their dramatic-filled-lives.  Thats all you need! A belief to defend and a illusionary life to blind you.  Lets go shopping! Then get drunk!

I don't find that STS at all, truthfully. People have made their choices, and now it must play out. If there are people who want my help, the cosmos will bring them to me. I don't fight windmills anymore. There are many paths, and I stick with those on mine. It's a straight and narrow one. Sometimes STO is knowing when to let people figure it out themselves. Tough love can be the best service at times, which can be hard when you're used to "helping".

It's true....that's something I'm learning during the past year, the idea of letting people figure stuff out for themselves.   My instinct has always been to jump in and prevent somebody from doing something that I know will adversly affect them, or to try to convince them of something that they haven't figured out yet. (circumventing their "learning lesson" I guess you could say. wink  )    Through studying the C's material, and learning from experience, I've finally figured out that sometimes you have to let people be, and this means letting them be to fall on their face, or make the "wrong" choice or whatnot.  It's hard, but I'm learning to do it.  There's a fine line too between not helping at all and being too helpful and cutting somebody off from learning a lesson.  What you described -- letting people who need your help come to you -- is a good middle ground compromise.    There's no freewill violation in that regard.

I still might put the booklet out, after all the content is mostly 90% written already!  smile  Outer and inner covers have been designed as well.   Might as well see it through to fruition, otherwise it seems a terrible waste.   I waiver back and forth between "Oh, what's the POINT!" to "Never give up!!!!"   big_smile

You mustn't give up on it now, at the time you first conceived the idea you saw it as good and worthy to proceed with. If you reject it now you might be letting others down in some way.
There may well be beings that build their hopes upon what you yourself think and do.
Beings who are weaker than you and therefore depend upon you.     
Beings that you perhapes tend to look down on.
Beings that need your empathy, look for it in your every move.
Aren't they the ones that you are doing it for?
