I know that cat!
Recapitulation - that's a great topic to start under the 'General Discussion' category. Could you begin the thread? I know several people here who would be interested in this, and many more who could benefit from learning about it.
I kinda started it over in phys and alt sci. Can I just move it over here?
That kitten on the left will be the death of me...."boogie booggie boogie booo"
Ok THATS IT. I'm buying a damn kitten.
Also, Thook, you can use any smaller image than 60 x 60 pixels. Something small and colorful usually attract the most individualization. ![]()
Thank you, Cameron, where in Virginia art thou? Did you see my reply about titanium cookware? BlackBox, I'm sure there are plenty o' kitten at your local shelter that would love you for it. Ever heard of Bonsai kitties? JK
Thook - feel free to email me off board for individual questions. I tend towards viewing the forum as a place for topical group analysis.
BTW, you can use the forum as a way to email. Just click on someone's name in the left column, and then in their profile, click "send e-mail". (of course, some would prefer Private Messages, but after all, isn't that what e-mail is?
)
Ever heard of Bonsai kitties? JK
I really hope you were kidding about that. Oh wait........I just noticed the JK. ! I heard Bonsais were an urban legend, and I hope that's the case!! (snopes, anybody??)
I am just kidding. I have more cats than most consider sane, an animal sanctury. My sense of humor is sometimes, well, off color. Bonsai is totally togue in cheek. It's even impossible. I tried....JK
Oh! Gotcha, Cameron.
I just really took a good look at those pics montalk posted........oh my god, I was totally cracking up!!!!!!!! The Richard Simmons one was too much! I want to print it out, stick it on my computer here at work as a conversation piece! The "drunken" kitty was good too, reminds me of my cat who sometime sits around like that, as if she's a person. Too funny.
Ermolai, many thanks for your input regarding the subject of victimization and ensuing sequela one experiences from this fact of life. Whether one is really aware of it (victimizaiton) or not, we hopefully come to realizaiton of the just how profoundly it can affect our lives.
Healing /changing from succumbing to this takes a tremendous amount of introspection, non-judgemental caring from others, and patience. Perhaps one may be sitting in their rocking chair at a ripe old age and come to the realization of why this particular aspect manifested in their lives. Maybe to eventually assist others in the same situaiton.
Perhaps it is something that ultimately serves as fodder for those who thrive upon negative /painful/hurtful emotions. Who knows?
Anyway, I feel one must digest "things" at the pace that is right for themselves-support systems to enhance this process are a gift at best, destructive at worst. We must ultimately choose what is right for ourselves.

Definitely. And for me non-judgmental caring from others has not been the easiest part, since those in the victim mode tend to naturally attract those in the predator mode. I feel like it's taking me a tremendous strenght and faith to open myself again despite the wounds, but I believe it's essential for these wounds to be healed, and the victim mode to be overcome. The importance of this paradox hit me very strongly this morning, after an intense dream...

It makes no doubt wounded healers can offer the compassion and inspiration needed to assist others in their self-healing. A few weeks ago I met someone who had been so wounded by life that it was hard to imagine, and he had the strongest compassion I had ever felt. Just looking in his eyes made me almost cry the first time I talked to him (just thinking about it again wets my eyes). This is why I don't think suffering is necessarily useless -- it can bring a depth which goes beyond words.
Apparently the kittys (aaawwww!) in pic 2 were inspired by the rainbow (ah!) in pic 1.
However, the kitty in pic 4 (tee hee!) had to resort to the bottle to deal with the person in pic 3 (eh? Oh? eewww.) he he.
