Topic: something to keep in mind in forums

"Through the use of language, we communicate meanings to other persons. The initiator of the communication must have some meaning in mind when she begins the communication. Her choice of sign or symbol must correctly convey the meaning. The message must not be completely blocked by "static:" inadvertent or deliberate corruption of the message. The recipient of the message must possess sufficient grasp of the meaning to understand it."

-The New Language of Spiritual Inspiration By Norman D. Livergood

* When we start identifying wisdom with our ability to comprehend its form, what wisdom is that?
* Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

Re: something to keep in mind in forums

Just some random thoughts about words:

I have often found it really interesting the way we use words, which are actually just "physicalised thought"

I have watched my 4 year old daughter struggle to explain things to me with words, yet it is apparent that she knows exactly what she WANTS to say,  but simply do not have the right words to bring her thoughts into a physical manifestation.

This highlights to me the importants of symbols,  where one “picture”  can paint a thousand thoughts and feelings.  Sometimes one single symbol (such as a Swastika or reki symbols)  represent many many thoughts or thought energy.   Maybe our conscious mind doesn’t remember the meanings of the symbols but I think often our subconscious mind does.  Maybe that’s what crop circles are about.  One symbol conveying a million words and thoughts.   Symbols are powerful things.

This email that you are reading now is a reflection of one single thought that sprung into my mind a few moments ago.  Yet the very act of writing it down (with my limited writing skills)  have “watered down”  my original thought.   It isn’t EXACLTY a mirror of my thought,  but it’s as close as I can get with the tools at my disposal.

Bring on the time when we can communicate thought to thought!

PS.  Just to add another thought that came to mind:

"There is only one original thought. - EVERYTHING is a symbol of that original thought, broken down into many sub symbols "

not 100% sure what that means, but it kind of felt right to me just then!

Re: something to keep in mind in forums

Very important subject to explore. I read a book at 15 called "Wordplay" by Peter Farb. It was so fascinating to read how creoles are formed, how words and their meanings change, and how a kind of organic process happens with them over time. I'd like to get into this. How can words be made to "program" us? Confuse us? Enlighten us? Help us achieve a state of grace?

Dale, if you're interested in more on this idea,  look on the montalk.net llnks page and check out "The Kybalion."  Very accessible but unique and worthwhile esoteric thought.

"Bringers of the Dawn" is a book which is also linked on that page, kind of gets into this sort of idea as well.

How can words be made to "program" us?

interesting indeed, i always wonder about this.

for example, let me share something thats been on my mind.

i was remembering the cambridhe study that came out that found the placement of the inside letters of a word not crucial to reading the entire word (our brain sorts the jumbled letters)

well, of course this is only applicable by region, meaning someone who doesnt know english well might not decode the words as well. but anyways.

[well actually that gives rise to a thought of multiple mediums (channels) abound the many regions of earth all doing the same thing just localized....]

what i was thinking is words that "they" might be using to program us.

the biggest one i can think of is NWO.

NWO has the same letters as the word NOW, as in Right Here, Right NOW

so it makes me think, does "nwo" connect to the mind (if only subconscious) whenever they read "now" or is there any connection at all ?

so i even was thinking what word can replace "now".

i think theres alot of words that have negative connotations attached and should be replaced with new words.

Also, another thought on Words in general, a more positive note:

the Words of any earth language contain such grand metaphors that they are often overlooked because of their simple complexity, if that makes any sense. i think this is a magical happening proving only that language is much more than just a means of dialogue, but rather an extension of our own DNA in the form of some kind of verbal communication.

its like opening up links/connections between physically seperate entities... information (more than just words) flows thru....

like computers sending 1's and 0's to each other, it all looks like just 1s and 0s but its really so much more encoded into there.... its just that its much easier to transmit the 1s and 0s and have the end user decode it, in essence its compressing the [idea] into a transmittable form...

tracing words histories can also be quite interesting, tracing last names etc...

great topic!

I've come across this idea before... something tells me that a lot about this will be uncovered in the upcoming years.

As far as Sedna's excellent question, I think that we all are programmed by words to one degree or another.  I'm tired now but discussing this question could go on for awhile! smile  An obvious, perhaps too simplistic example, but appropriate for this forum, might be:  How often have you tried to tell somebody something that YOU know, through your own personal research into non-mainstream-subjects, and they don't want to hear it?  Or, you tried to recommend a book to somebody, ANY book you may find important that challenges official truth, and they say "conspiracy theory, eh?"   Those two words are a powerful program -- maybe a magic spell by another definition -- which instantly shuts off the rational mind of many people and causes them to immediately revert back to automatic activity -- watching TV or yapping about something meaningless such as popular culture (sports, movies, whatever).

That's one form of word control -- introducing false concepts  (memes) into people's thinking patterns to short-circuit higher mental processes.  There are others.

Incidentall, there's a book called "Word Controlled Humans" that deals with this subject.  It's worth a read.

PS -  The awakening process, getting in tune again, is part-in-parcel to overcoming this sort of programming in a step by step way.  It's the same concept as transcending the influences of planetary bodies, as is being discussed in another thread.   Expanding awareness, as always, is the fundamental, principal key to unlocking all these barriers.
