Topic: Zen dog

I hope I can do this joke justice. A customer at the health food store I work at told this one to me, or something like it, on a paricularly energetic day.
A man wandering for years all over the globe in search of the secret to life with absolutely no fulfillment finally winds up in Tibet, of all places that maybe could have/should have been the first stop. Anyway, in his searching all over Tibet still to no avail, he is directed by a wise old looking man to a hot dog vendor on the street corner dressed quite colorfully and bouncing quite happily to some reggae music. The old man said," There, he is the one who can give you the answers to what you are looking for." He was wearing long dreads and appeared to be smoking something of a handrolled nature occasionally pausing to hum a few lines to the music. Rather puzzled by the wise-looking old man's recommendation, he was close to leaving in complete exasperation when he decided what the heck, he was hungry anyway. So, he walks over to the hot dog stand exhausted from his long, long search and notices the sign advertising "cheese dogs, coney dogs, footlongs, and zen dogs". He says to the rasta man, " I am hungry, but first I must tell you I have searched and searched relentlessly over the world for the secret to life, and I am at last directed to you, of all people and all things. Please Mr. Rastafari-man, what could you possibly have for me that I could not find in the worlds religions and temples and wise men. I have danced, performed rituals, chanted, fasted, meditated, and even hung myself by my nipples. What could you possibly offer me. What is the secret to life?" The rasta man with a big smile and spliff hanging from his mouth turns down the music and says to weary seeker in a thick Jamaican accent," Geez-m-peez, Man! You need a zen dog!" The seeker looks at the rasta man in complete bewilderment and exclaims," What? A zen dog! I travel thousands of miles for a zen dog. I'm from New York. Why not a chili dog, cheese dog, or even a Coney? I can get those at home. Christ! What is so special about a zen dog?" The rasta man smiles again and putting his hand on the seeker's shoulder and says," Because, man, I can make you one wit' everyting!"

Re: Zen dog

Hi thook, great story smile
Here comes the second part:
Our weary seeker finally decides to try a zen dog and asks for the price. " 5.42$" is the answer. He hands the rasta man a 10$ bill. The rasta guy takes the money, thanks our hungry New Yorker and puts his attention to the next customer.
Our hungry man now feels quite iritated and raises his voice "hey, where is my change?!"
The rastafari takes a deep inhale and lets off a big cloud of smoke. He turns around and looks our friend deep into his eyes "Change - has to come from within, man."

Re: Zen dog

Just when I discovered the meaning of life, they changed it on me.

Re: Zen dog

Ah! The illlusory nature of the zendog! It can be cheesy, hot, cold, and quite tasty, but stay away if it's green and slimy. It may look like slaw, but chances are you will pay for it more than once and it won't be what you thought it was.
