Re: The Dead Series.

Kid Mongo almost had me though. He was so close. A couple more thousand of these videos and I think I would have been a true believer. Think of all of the inanimate objects Desteni has yet to give a voice to: earplugs, pills, and soft baked cookie boxes.

In all seriousness I think the decline and fall of education worldwide is a bit discouraging. So many people lack critical thinking skills these days and can't wait to let others make choices for them. Unfortunately this sort of behavior will also have people giving up their sovereignty so they don't have to think anymore than they do already. Reminds me of Brave New World. Aren't some academics even already now pushing for contained cities? I forget what they called them.

The Art of Reasoning is dead. We have Megachurches, Jesus Camps, "The Secret" DVDs and crackpot cults. Not that these groups didn't exist before but now it's very easy to get your message seen by thousands of unhappy seekers. Plenty of easily accessible reading material out there on cult dynamics, persuasion, hypnosis, propaganda techniques, etc. It's almost too easy to create a spiritual philosophy and get a following. Some of these Super-Deluxe Guru Extraordinaries even appear helpful and sincere, but as usual seem to lead everyone but the originators of the teachings into bondage.

I hope this world gets a serious wake up call, and soon.

Covert Metaphor,

Those who lead into captivity, fall into captivity.

The Desti-ninny material always struck me as the way Andy Warhol would have done 'spirituality' if he were still here.  Pulp fiction.  Pure pop.

I believe the reason this thread got so many hits is because it became like a soap opera.  "Will reason and intuition prevail today?" .................. "How 'bout today" ............. "today?" ..............

Or was it because we were all waiting for a few words from an analgesic suppository?

Re: The Dead Series.

Oh man, and I was really looking forward to the channeling from "negative space".  You know that part of a painting that isn't painted.  Not the canvas, the concept.  I figured since "A Scratch from a Cat's Nail" can be channeled when it's an effect and not actually an object then so can negative space.

I really think desteni is an experiment to see how far you can go and still have people believe you.  Testing the limits so to speak.  The desteni forum is an interesting study in human psychology and the extremes the ego-mind will go, to protect it's vested belief.

Re: The Dead Series.
