That little talk "jack" did on musick in the music is enslavement video kind of pissed me off lol.  Mabye "jack" should listen to some different music other than 99% of what the music industry pumps out.  I mean seriously. 

I've experienced musick while out of body once. I wasn't the one doing it but at the same time I was just from being aware of it. It's a pretty interesting and instense story mabye on the level of a Kurt Leland out of body adventure of sorts and hard for people to understand. But it happened. The musick was the most beautiful and intense thing I've ever experienced in my entire life. I've crashed drums machines over and over trying to mimick it and I dont have the technology to "recreate" it. I would say the artist that is the closest to playing anything REMOTELY like what I experienced that night is Amon Tobin, or possibly The Orb.  Even then it's a long shot because there was so much going on, it was simply unbelievable.  No words. I've been playing drums for 16 years and I love playing Latin, Afro Cuban, Jazz, Blues, Funk, Metal.....whatever! I like to get very experimental.

So, to tell me that Victor Wooten is not expressing himself when he is playing that bass is pretty pig headed. LOL seriuosly, cmon now.  There are many many jazz artists out there who dont put words in their musick and just express.  I've cried listening to Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Beethoven, Jaco Pastorius, and others. Most of the time I just to mental acrobatics with the musick and dig it that way.

Coil was another really good project. I had an out of body experience listening to their track 5MEO-DMT from their Time Machines album.  They were quite the esoteric group and really pioneered what sound was capable of.  There are many stories people have listening to their musick, and I have some. One time while Jhon Balance of Coil was recording a song called "Bird Cage" he turned it up loud so he could hear it while in the kitchen. At the window he saw a baby owl just staring into the kitchen not moving. Jhon was interested in the fact this owl was'nt moving and just seemed hypnotized. He opened the window and still it didn't move. He too ka peice of bread and pushed it against it's beak....nothing. He walked away, came back and it was gone.

I checked out the site before all this and had a look around.  I'm not going to start on what I feel is foo foo and what  I feel is not.  But keeping with jack, let's say he is not somone I would enjoy discussing music with. They way he/she throws up the arms like " There is NOONE who has EVER expressed themselves with music!".  I don't know about you but I see the audacity in that, and I think the only reason "jack" says that is because he himself is not a musician. I think it's interesiting there that he is taking a sort of U.G. Krishnamurti attitude towards things.  I really dont care about his extensive vocabulary.

Here is an image I just thought of. It's like I'm here in my palace of my own creation. Beautiful in every way and in every way my own. Somone is knocking onthe door and invites themselves in. They are covered in mud and they start ranting about how it's all wrong. They walk up and grab a painting off the wall and say " this, this right here. Take it down" and they grab it and smash it on the floor. While tracking mud all over the house I follow them and I'm still interested in this being and what it is exactly they are trying to get across.

This is what "jack" is like. I've read many books in my day and listened to plenty of lectures with plenty of "extensive vocabulary".  Jack can do whatever he wants, I dont care.  Mabye if he settles the f*ck down, cleans himself off and presents himself better I'll be able to understand and mabye have some gestures of "aha, now I get you".

They can have their message. I'm not here to say it's right or wrong. I have my own message and so do you. Seems to be that their message is filled to the brim with a be all end all kind of thing. Sort of like " this is the final say" with a blanket solution to things without room for much spontaneous solutions. In my humble opinion that attitude is quite trite.  I'll get on the forum and see just whats going on.
