A few more mentions:

The rumor that some of the original written pages were found at some point. Witnesses supposedly said they were written in reverse. Like looking at writing in a mirror. I saw it referenced in more than one source but of course it was so long ago. Does anyone know more about this (and sheesh! why do I care but I admit I'm curious)?

And - it did occur to me that some of the writings could be based in truth (as in at least some of the cosmology). I mean, wouldn't it be cool to really have some definitive answers about the structural system of the universe as it relates to our earth? This could be why I have been so 'back and forth' with my interest. But then I have to wonder if some of it is correct why is it blended with such corrupt information as well?? One simple answer, surely, is that the 'dark side' is trying to trick us. I was raised Christian - tho' not fundamentalist- and that's how
they say it starts. Part truth + major lies.  yikes

Thing is, even if the cosmology is correct how would we ever know? At least how would we ever know while still in our physical bodies? I have to say I understand that just because a text is huge and detailed does not make it true (all that glitters....).  But the nature and purpose of this book - it is one of the most interesting mysteries I've ever come across in my life so far.

I read snippets of Urantia, and I put it down when it talked about 'property rights'.
We cannot own the Earth.  Why put fences around the house?

I fully believe in Dr. David Hawkins' calibrations as the only objectifiable measurement of Truth, until the 3rd eye of the Buddhic body opens and spiritual discernment begins proper. Until then...calibrations, calibrations, calibrations smile

And Dr. Hawkins calibrates the Urantia Book at 150, below the critical point of Integrity (Truth).

So for those who felt "off" reading it, welps you're right smile

If you're looking for astral kicks and giggles, it's interesting and entertaining indeed -- but if you're looking for raising consciousness and spiritual enlightenment, there are fully verified sources of Truth down through the ages that supply all the information that is needed, without resorting to diversions. You think you can touch it without getting singed, but spiritual/consciousness entrainment works on energetic levels that cannot be felt, and by the time you notice it, it's already too late.
