Re: Britney Shears
Sam, if you want a simpler version, then it's up to you to put it forth. Your initial ? was "what's wrong with Britney?", Tim merely presented another possible angle/ explanation. You seem to think some of us here instinctively are supposed to know what is and is not acceptable, response-wise.
I really don't have much regard for high profile 'personalities', but putting aside the very likely MC aspects, what if BS (apt initials btw) did choose this road herself wanting fame and fortune, and just realized she bit off more than she could chew?
Once you are in the spotlight, it is amost impossible to go back to anonymity, the best way some people would see to deal with this is to become as unappealing as possible (she's doing a helluva job) and to counter any and every bit of their 'former' status and appeal.
I don't disagree there is MC at work here, we are ALL MC'd, difference being "standard" MC versus ritual type MC.
And, think of what most 'normal' (non-celeb) people have lived thru, the mistakes they have made, the trials and tribs- it's more than enough for most people. But do that in the constant predatory scrutiny of the public eye.
I think she deserves one breakdown.
I hope some sort of good conclusion is reached (talent or lack thereof notwithstanding)- but it seems like whenever a celeb gains notoriety in this manner- it's a sharp descent, and usually the obscurity they wish to have back is never found. Fame is an ugly, four letter word....... J
