Re: What's the latest in Florida?

Found this live webcam site that updates every minute with images of Fort Lauderdale Beach.  I used to live 2 miles from where Hurricane Katrina is hitting, right now as I type this.   This is the beach we used to go to all the time, you've got to check this out before it passes over, it's incredible!

(NOTE:   Use Internet Explorer to view, Mozilla Firefox doesn't work with this....)
http://www.sunny.org/webcam/camapp.html

It reminds me of one of those pointelist paintings.  It would make a great art image.

Even though this is a low end Category 1 hurricane, the wind (about 70 mph right now, as I write) and rain is worse than when the high end Category 2's hit 40 miles north of Fort Lauderdale last year, because this time Fort Lauderdale is the main landfall target.

I just can't BELIEVE that Fort Lauderdale's getting popped like this.  This was my home for 2 1/2 years. Usually it never gets the direct hits; hurricanes always veer north or south of that area from what the locals used to reassure me all the time.  If we were there we'd have no electricity, and no air conditioning or even a fan in the middle of the scorching hot and humid Florida summer.   Lines for gasoline, or none at all.   No ice.   Flooded roads, downed trees and power lines everywhere.   Etc.  So, glad not to be there, obviously made the right choice in leaving, but still sad for those who are going to face that.

You know, it's the strangest thing, they don't forecast this hurricane to really touch  my area here, and yet the iguanas are taking to ground... hmmm, makes me wonder.

Well what's interesting is that they really didn't see this one hitting as strongly as it ended up hitting.  Right through til this morning they were STILL calling it a tropical storm.

Then it made landfall between Broward and Miami Dade county in the afternoon at 90 mph (so said the news report I read) and killed several people.

Nice "tropical storm".  !

I know 90 mph isn't much compared to a Category 3, 4 or even 5 storm, but still, it was so played down and people were pretty nonchalant about it, then within hours it gained 20 - 30 mph and hit as a hurricane.

I knew two days ago it was going to become a Cat. 1 hurricane and even mentioned it to montalk, so I have proof, dammit, he can back me up!  big_smile   I've been dead on accurate about all the Florida hurricanes since last year - where they were going to hit, and how hard they were going to hit, even when the "experts" were saying something entirely different.  I knew Jeanne was going to loop around, become active again and smack the same place Frances did 3 weeks earlier (again, montalk can back me up on that one!), I knew 5 days before that  Frances was going to make landfall that Friday in West Palm Beach, I knew Ivan was going to swing up and hit the Gulf of Mexico region and NOT SW Florida as originally predicted, I felt something was fishy and off about Charlie and was glued to my computer screen at work, watching its progress like a person watches television, and sure enough, it swerved in and made landfall in a completely different area than predicted.   Yet I don't know a thing about meteorology, but damn, maybe I should go into business for myself as a psychic. !    Could specialize in Florida weather or something, who knows.  Just give me a ring, and for 5 bucks I can tell you what's going to happen and to who and when and where.  haha  Forget the meteorologists though, they have about as much clue as a medical doctor.

(PS...and I don't write this to try to sound egotistical or something......I've always had intuition, but NEVER like this before, to where I can tune in to external events and be so accurate.  So it's not meant in ego, I say it as an indicator of the changes that are happening to people, of which a major one includes a mega increase in one's natural psychic abilities. I think this is happening because we're going to need them for whatever's coming up down the pike.  but i digress!!!)

While some may indeed find this "egotistical" (my word choice is based solely on your word choice), I don't. It seems to be an apparent notion, as a fact... veils are dropping, they have been, we have easier access to knowledge that was before obscured. The only thing is is that you do have a predisposition to intuitiveness because you're a Stellium Scorpio, like me. You have three planets in your descending house, and I have four. That's like being layered over and over again with an aptitude for intuitiveness. You are who you are, and it has not a single thing to do with ego wink . I hope you don't feel I'm lecturing you, stepping over a personal boundary line, it's just that as a fellow Scorp, I would just like to see you speak of your person without having to counteract that with a negative disclaimer.

Now about Katrina. I have the past two days, been feeling some familiar feelings like I felt last summer with those 'canes, a swimmy head and nausea. I don't like it. I hope I don't sound like a nut ( roll now who's adding a negative disclaimer wink ), but I think this hurricane may very well have been tinkered with. When I get a swimmy head and nausea like this I always find some kind of indication that the magnetic-grid is getting jacked around, like solar flares or even scalar stuff (which I know diddley-squat about).

On the other hand, Hurricane Dennis? I felt not a bit of any of this, and the iggies never went to ground with that one either. Interesting that Katrina started out to be just a squirt of a hurricane and now they're projecting it to make it's second landfall as a Cat 4? Maybe this a natural course of action for her, but at this point, I'm not wholey convinced this is all of an innocent nature.

Fortunately for me, Katrina is moving further away so the ickiness is not really with me this morning... and thankfully so, because that swimmy head and nausea kwap just wears me out.

Today's mighty oak is just yesterday's nut that held its ground.

Well thank you, that's much appreciated.  smile

That's interesting that you noted strange head feelings and nausea with this hurricane.    Connecting some dots here, but there was a  HUGE solar storm this week which coincided with the hurricane.   Montalk, me, and a few others got sick this week with these strange sore throats, and we're people who rarely if never get sick.  The fact we all got sick with the same symptoms at the same time in the middle of the solar ruckus is certainly coincidental!   Also, right in the middle of this solar storm period I noticed that I was having troubles with my pendulum.   For the first time since I got it, I received contradictory answers.  I was perplexed, not knowing about the sun.  So I think it might explain that as well.

Yeah, my intuitive impression on Dennis was that it was just a regular ol' hurricane.  Who knows though........for all we know, EVERY hurricane now is completely controlled.   I wouldn't be surprised!   And maybe the difference in feelings from one to the next has to do with the technology they're using to play around with it, and the intensity of how the technology is being applied.    Again, I'm just grabbing at straws here. Who knows!    I do know that complete planetary weather control is supposed to be one of their goals.

Re: What's the latest in Florida?

Well, I know this no longer pertains to Florida, but to me it's still important to keep tabs on. But Katrina is now higher than a category 5, with winds at 160 mph, and gusts bringing it to 195 mph. and it's aimed for what they guess is going to be New Orleans.

They say that if it does hit New Orleans, it'll be the strongest hurricane to hit them in recorded history, and only the third category 5 hurricane to hit the States in history, after Andrew in 1992 and Camille, in the 50's.

Re: What's the latest in Florida?

Jesus, the amount of destruction a Cat 5 will do to New Orleans will be phenomenally devasting. New Orleans is known for it's poor city planning and inablilty to withstand great influxes of water.

I hope every person in that area has the wherewithall to evacuate... and find a new place to live, because there'll likely be nothing left standing, even likely a good portion of the delta mouth to the Mississipi river will be gone.

Re: What's the latest in Florida?

Looking at those photos of all the people trying to get out of New Orleans on the 10 west just reminds me of what we went through in evacuating Florida for Frances.  Something like 2 million people on the road, every route was clogged.  It took us 14 hours to make the 88 miles from the Lake Okeechobee area, which is where the traffic ground to a halt, to Orlando.   No lie!  And even then, the only reason we managed to get out of the state was because Tom was synchronistically guided to turn on the radio and listen to a news program which mentioned a side route off the turnpike accessible in Orlando.  The side route ran parallel to the turnpike, all the way up into Georgia.

What frustrates me about the current New Orleans situation is how even in the middle of an emergency like evacuating for a Category 5+ storm whose winds are now **175 mph** according to reports, people still only use one side of the freeway.

I'm looking at that photo in the link from my previous post, and only one side of the freeway is being used to get people away from a 175 mph hurricane.  Have some SMARTS!  I can't believe how programmed we are as a people that it doesn't occur to us to *BREAK THE RULES* if it means saving lives.   Obviously nobody is going to be heading TOWARDS New Orleans in a time like this, and if they are, it's only going to be the random car.   So open the other side of the freeway, use all 6 - 8 lanes.   They'd have people out in no time.

When we were evacuating for Frances, people didn't even have the common sense to use the breakdown lane.    Only a random car here and there.............and even then, we had citizen vigilantes trying to police everybody by blocking those lanes to keep everybody using only the 3 main highway lane.  NO smarts.   It was VERY VERY frustrating.   But that was the other factor in us managing to get out....my insistance on using the breakdown lane.   Tom and I had our 2 way radios so we could talk to each other from our cars, we got in the breakdown lane, and drove around the vigilantes on the grass.    And that's how we got out.

I'm just shaking my head.  I just know that if I ever find myself in a situation like that again, where I can see that the other side of the highway is totally empty, and I'm in bumper to bumper traffic, and it's life threatening, I'm using the other side.

Re: What's the latest in Florida?

I know I've posted this before, but I find it fascinating, so here it is again.  From Hurricane Hunters.com, it's the AF crew that flies into hurricanes to record the data and take photos.  This page has all the hurricanes and tropical storms they've flown into going back to 1991.   Just click on any name and view the photos of what that particular hurricane looked like from the inside!

Re: What's the latest in Florida?

This isn't on the topic of hurricanes but since I live in florida and this is happening here. The county I live in is now having all county schools do thumbprint scans. 27,000 thumb print scans have been processed so far. ;(
