Another song I've re-found is "Immortality" by Pearl Jam. The lyrics (to which I can seriously relate) and EV's honest delivery make this one a classic for me:
MP3: www.expositus.net/music/13Immortality.mp3
Vacate is the word...vengeance has no place on me or her
Cannot find the comfort in this world
Artificial tear...vessel stabbed...next up, volunteers
Vulnerable, wisdom can't adhere...
A truant finds home...and a wish to hold on...
But there's a trapdoor in the sun...Immortality...
As privileged as a whore...victims in demand for public show
Swept out through the cracks beneath the door
Holier than thou, how?
Surrendered...executed anyhow
Scrawl dissolved, cigar box on the floor...
A truant finds home...and a wish to hold on too...
He saw the trapdoor in the sun...I cannot stop the thought...I'm running in the dark...
Coming up a which way sign...all good truants must decide...
Oh, stripped and sold, mom...auctioned forearm...
And whiskers in the sink...
Truants move on...cannot stay long
Some die just to live...
Ohh...

Brain Damage
The lunatic is on the grass.
The lunatic is on the grass.
Remembering games and daisy chains and laughs.
Got to keep the loonies on the path.
The lunatic is in the hall.
The lunatics are in my hall.
The paper holds their folded faces to the floor
And every day the paper boy brings more.
And if the dam breaks open many years too soon
And if there is no room upon the hill
And if your head explodes with dark forebodings too
I'll see you on the dark side of the moon.
The lunatic is in my head.
The lunatic is in my head
You raise the blade, you make the change
You re-arrange me 'til I'm sane.
You lock the door
And throw away the key
There's someone in my head but it's not me.
And if the cloud bursts, thunder in your ear
You shout and no one seems to hear.
And if the band you're in starts playing different tunes
I'll see you on the dark side of the moon.
"I can't think of anything to say except...
I think it's marvelous! HaHaHa!"
Eclipse
All that you touch
All that you see
All that you taste
All you feel.
All that you love
All that you hate
All you distrust
All you save.
All that you give
All that you deal
All that you buy,
beg, borrow or steal.
All you create
All you destroy
All that you do
All that you say.
All that you eat
And everyone you meet
All that you slight
And everyone you fight.
All that is now
All that is gone
All that's to come
and everything under the sun is in tune
but the sun is eclipsed by the moon.
"There is no dark side of the moon really. Matter of fact it's all dark."

Thank you!::):)

Something else to suggest that you check out. My friend just introduced me to a band called "R ¶yksopp". I don't know if this has been on television or is really mainstream or not... But I thought their song+video called "What Else Is There?" was kind of haunting/epic/neato. You can view the video by going to their site:
I had to have javascript enabled for this site, click their logo, and a window popped up, and then I could select videos from the menu. I had to actually launch WMP to play it, but there is a realplayer link also (I have the real alternative installed as part of k-lite codec pack and it kept saying it couldn't render the files)...
If you have trouble understanding the lyrics, I found a copy here.
I just found it and haven't put enough thought into what the lyrics are trying to convey... Anyways, something about this song jumps out at me as being more interesting or better than anything else I've heard come out in a while. Sort of reminiscent of Bjork too IMO...
BTW plasticportal: I'm listening now to the 1st mix from that FinRG site. I like it. Sounds like regular trance sped up (not the cheese-mo epic trance crap, but the cool trance that got played at some raves). I'm into this now, so I'm gonna get all those mixes, thanks for the tip.
category of music (i wouldn't categorize it, but): "other / indie / healing & easy listening", the band name is: "WomanMachine" ... i'm really feelin' "SunDial Demo" & "Math Students" ...
edit: oops - forgot to source it: http://www.myspace.com/womanmachine
craziness with what they've captured there - sounds so different to things familiar to me, i can't describe it ...
For any metal fans I'm listening to a band called Kreator and they are sounding good in the first 3 songs i've listened to.
bumpin' & soothin', this music is movin':
I have to say WOW!!
Ok, previously I wrote many times rock - especially progressive and symphonic rock - is the best music and hip-hop, rap, clubbin etc sucks enormously. But I was not ready for this (sorry if it's meant before on NR);

So the group is Jedi Mind Tricks which I've not heard before and here's the lyrics, really reaaally good.

C'mon people! You make hip-hop! You have to talk about money & fame & sex & chicks only! As morningsun said on some other thread "it's against my principles to believe" hip-hop can say these.
I stumbled across this girl on Myspace. Her and the other girl in the songs have the most beautiful voices, but the music is very forlorn. Grey Teeth, and Born to Die are the most Melodic, listen for the harmony between the two female voices.

Here is a blast from the past: Theme from Crocodile Dundee
I woke up to Radio 1 this morning to hear Starz in their eyes by Just Jack and it made my day. So I myseriously find his album Overtones on the net and my day gets even better. I think you can listen to the first 30 seconds of each song on amazon.co.uk

And November Rain by Guns n Roses has that not been mentioned?
Since I'm new, Hello everyone...
Anyway, I'm really impressed by this french band "Alcest"
Which blend rough underground "romanticized" Black Metal.
Don't be afraid to give it a listen if you detest the genre, it's like nothing you've ever heard.
Great music, and VERY original.
There are only 2 samples you can listen to here.
