I can totally relate. This might sound whack... but I’ll be driving down the highway, checking out lanes of cars, and everything looks antiquated. I see my hands on the steering wheel and think, "isn't this charming. I'm driving an automobile." Then an airplane will fly overhead and it looks positively archaic to me. In these moments I feel like this isn't my "time" or like I'm waiting for the world to catch-up. So weird!
Now that's pretty trippy!
That's got to be a cool feeling.
Once & Future wrote:And, Lyra, when you wrote ” anybody else out there game? " my heart started pounding. I am soooo game, and I know I have to make the break.... yet I CAN’T seem to step away from the celeb gossip!!! It’s unnatural. Last month, I noticed it was becoming an addiction. I decided to see if I could go one week without checking my fav gossip blogs, but I couldn’t do it! Why am I so compelled to read this crap??!! I don't REALLY CARE. I know that I NEED to make a decision, but it’s like trying to quit smoking.
I wonder if (for me) plugging into celeb-culture keeps me connected to the rest of the world? Reading/talking about that crap makes me feel participatory. And, the more half of me wants to disconnect, the more half is grabbing on? I don't know????
That is SO ME!
Oh my god, I could have totally written all that. Too funny. You know what I think it is, because I've had to stop and analyze it myself, but I think quite simply, it's pleasant distraction. When you look at the news, and it's "All horror, all the time!" isn't it just SO much more fun to read about Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise??? I know if given a choice between yet another Iraq horror story, or some juicy superficial tidbit about the latest Cruise and Holmes fiasco, I'm all over the Cruise Holmes fiasco! It's fun, stupid distraction, on par with a t.v. show. Also, there's an aspect of voyeurism involved. Getting a peak into the totally nutty, sordid, train wreck existances of crazy celebrities who are running around living the type of life we will never live. The drugs, sex, partying, cat fights...Tara Reid drunk again in the curb gutter, with her dress over her head and the contents of her purse splayed out everywhere and one shoe missing while her bodyguard tries to help her up. I don't know about you, but that sort of thing doesn't normally happen to me! And that's why it can be entertaining to read I suppose, especially when you're sitting in your boring old 9-5 tick tock office surrounded by mundane people where nothing interesting ever happens.
But you know, I've even pretty much reached my limit in celeb gossip this week. It's just BORING at this point. I'm just at a point where even if I'm totally bored with nothing to do, it no longer entertains me.
So Once & Future, how about me and you form a celeb gossip support group, huh?
This week, I vow to not go to my favorite superfical celeb gossip blogs. And you're right, it is like quitting smoking. But if you can get past one week, then the second is even easier.
The trick is to find something else to fill in the hole that would have previously been spent surfing the 'net for mindless fun entertainment. Have a book handy that you can grab and read instead. I did that last week. Had a Stuart Wilde book handy. That helped, gave me something meaningful to read instead.
Jen................that channeling summary of how the two Earths thing will be was absolutely INCREDIBLE to read. Thanks for posting that, because it's the first time I've read a description of "the new Earth" that actually makes sense. So far the problem I've usually had with this concept was trying to figure out how this whole "timeline split" "shift" thing would work. It just didn't make sense. What, do we wake up one day in a new world? It never felt right to me. But this talks about co-existing side-by-side in the same world with others who are at a totally different frequency, and that SO matches up to what's been going on with me.
In short, when I'm out and about in public, I feel like I'm not on the same wavelength with most of the people around me. That I could almost be invisible. I'm not of course, but that's the closest way to describe the feeling of how "off" I feel in relation to my surroundings. I feel like I'm this alien, watching them, passing through, on the outside looking in. And to clarify, it's not an elitist, "I'm 'better' than them" separation feeling. It's just a difference of some sort.
I don't read through much channeling though, so I had no explanation for what was going on, and have just had this "go with the flow" amused mindset about it all. Like, huh, this feels different. Weird. Oh well, just go with it.
My writings on the side have also taken a major turn over the past few months. Before it was a neutral sharing of what I know, with some inspirational motivators thrown in. Now, there's this thing where I'm actively trying to help tug people out of an old reality that's of a heavy, suppressive nature, which is no longer working......like trying to help pull people along through a tunnel to something better on the other side, even have my helmet with the light on top, and we're all holding on to the rope, to guide us along.
But it's just like the Tobias channelling describes. I mean, I can't get over how well it fits. Anyway, so thanks again for posting that.
