Topic: Implant above left ear?

I'd like to describe this, I'm really not sure if it's an implant or not.  I'm mostly just curious if anyone else has something similar.

I have a mole or birthmark just above and a little bit in front of my left ear.  It's hard to see because it's covered by my hair, but it seems to be perfectly round and about a quarter of an inch in diameter.  It's easy to feel it though because there is a hard bump there.  It is pale in color, not dark but has a slightly darker outline around the outside of it.

What is strange about it is that it has a hard bump that feels like it's under the skin, instead of above the skin like a typical raised mole.  It's hard to describe what the difference is but I guess anyone who has moles will know what I'm talking about.  I have a lot of other moles on my body of all different sizes, shapes, etc.  Most of them are not raised, but the ones that are have a different skin texture.  A raised mole will feel thicker only where the skin is darker, and it will only make a bump above the skin.

Well this mole above my ear doesn't feel like a raised growth.  What it actually looks and feels like is if someone had inserted a tiny watch battery several layers deep under my skin, and the outline of it made an impression through my skin that looks like a mole.  It's not like the skin tissue is swollen, and there's no sore or scaliness or anything.  It's just a thick, hard bump with a little circle on it.

I was born with it, or so my mom says, but her memory is suspect on a lot of things so I don't know, it could have appeared sometime after I was born.  I suspect that it is an implant, and probably defunct since I have tones and ringing and other goodies in both ears now.  Years ago I used to only hear stuff in my left ear.  I must have gotten upgraded somewhere along the way (j/k).

Any thoughts....anyone have something similar?

Re: Implant above left ear?

I have read about something like this on some website (which I don't remember the address of), and it said that "more people than you think have an implant behind their left ear" or something like that...

Sorry I can't be more specific, I don't remember much more - but I definitely read it, though...
Maybe you should try examining and if possible, extract or at least have the "bump" looked into somehow?

Re: Implant above left ear?

Well I could go to a doctor and have it checked, except I don't go to doctors...but if I really wanted to have it removed I'm sure I could just say I'm worried that it might be cancerous, since skin cancer does run in my family.  And sure it could be something other than an implant, but it really doesn't look anything like a cancerous growth.  It would be interesting to see a doctor's reaction anyway, I bet there are some out there who have run across implants in patients and don't like to talk about what they have seen.

I'm not all that worried about it, not like I was 3-4 years ago when I first started considering that I might possibly have an implant.  I was really freaked out then but at this point it's like, hey, if I've been living with it this long...and if I remove or disable it that might be like asking for an upgrade.  Or maybe I'm just scared that it would be too shocking to remove an implant and actually be able to hold it in my hand and look at it.  It would be tangible proof of too many things I don't enjoy contemplating.

There is a lot of info on the net about implants being located in or around the left ear, it's a lot to sort through.  This page is interesting but I don't know how accurate the information is:

Another thing that strikes me is the idea of implants being located inside the nasal cavity.  I've had sinus trouble and ear infections all my life.  I always assumed it was just another thing that runs in my family.  Maybe it's really abduction/mind control phenomena that tends to run in the family.
