Topic: Mercury and Jupiter retrograde, oh my!
Yep, it's that time again. Mercury goes retrograde (appearing to move backwards in the sky from our vantage point here on Earth) roughly three times a year. It went retrograde in the emotional sign of Pisces Thursday, March 2nd at 3:29 pm Eastern Time here in the US and will remain retro until March 25th at 8:42 am.
Mercury retrograde really does generate electromagnetic effects, often blowing out communications, computers, and other technical stuff or making it behave in weird ways. (Case in point: today I can't access some sites that I had no problems accessing on Wednesday before Mercury went retrograde. Hmm.) It also makes people very distracted, so be careful while driving. Road rage and irresponsible driving really kick up during these times, so much so that I've learned to keep my eyes VERY open and drive extra cautiously during retrograde times -- and it's saved my life on more than one occasion.
On an emotional level, Mercury in Water sign Pisces might make it more tempting to jump down somebody's throat because you believe you've been wronged. Can we say, extra sensitive? So extra patience and empathy are definitely called for.
Jupiter is also going retrograde. It goes retrograde Saturday 4th (tomorrow) at 1:02 pm Eastern Time and remain retrograde until July 6th at 3:19 am.
Jupiter is one of the slower moving planets. It takes about a year to travel through one astrological sign vs. Mercury, which changes signs about every three and a half weeks.
When Jupiter is retrograde, we may find ourselves pulling back from long term projects, goals, hobbies, or relationships that we've been pursuing. We'll want to introspect, analyze, and figure out the best path for ourselves. This process of examination can be very positive. It doesn't mean you have to END the relationship or project or career in question. But you may discover that you need to fine-tune certain aspects of your life to make them work. By the time Jupiter goes direct again in July, you'll be ready to move ahead with those changes and to experience improvement.
Since Jupiter is in Water sign Scorpio, there could be a lot of deep meditation, spiritual illumination, and moments of psychic connection going on as we turn within for answers. Also, the darker side of Scorpio can stir up feelings of wanting revenge, of identifying others as the "enemy," so don't get too obsessed with what you perceive to be "evil." If you take those obsessions too far, they'll pull you in and you'll forget all of the good stuff going on.
Anyway, I wanted to mention these things for people who enjoy pattern recognition and tracking certain energy cycles in the world and in their own lives. The neat thing about these cycles is that they happen irrespective of our "belief" in them. It's just a matter of whether they interest you or not. If astrology bores you to tears or if you've had bad experiences with astrology in the past, then I completely understand your wanting to ignore my post!
But drive safely anyway, 'kay? ![]()
